Engineers or Humans?

I believe that many of you have questioned themselves about this topic, to which no one (even after watching the long-awaited movie) has yet given an answer.
I am quite sure that the living beings of Alien: Covenant are not the engineers of Prometheus. They may be tall, pale and with harsh lines but surely they are not the exact same species. For example, their eyes are not the same. The engineers of Prometheus have all-black, big eyes while the beings of Alien: Covenant have more humanely like eyes.
Much more interesting would be believing that the inhabitants of "planet X" are nothing but one of the many successful creations of engineers.
Maybe they are the very and only (?) successful offspring of the engineers.
Maybe they were created in image and likeness (Have I written it correctly? Idk). But not identical to their creators. A bit like us (?).
I really don't know. What do you think about it?
P.s: sorry for my bad english!

MemberFacehuggerMay-26-2017 1:23 AMI believe I have an explanation for the human looking eyes, basically what I think is that they're some type of lenses, weather it's similar to the hunters' or just to enhance eyesight idk but my guess is that space travelers use them, or military maybe, so since the inhabitants of Paradise are just civilians I believe, I think it makes sense why they don't have them, anyway that's just my theory, I hope it helped or something.

MemberFacehuggerMay-26-2017 11:01 AMIt can also simply be explained by natural evolution.
The sacrificial Engineer scene was probably millions of years ago.
Or a more simple/realistic possibility. Not enough money for the make-ups to match the Prometheus facial structures.

MemberOvomorphMay-26-2017 3:20 PMi wonder if the Engineers are not dying race, as in something is wrong with them which is why they started experimenting with the black goo and seeding them selves across the galaxy. Before AC we saw the derelict in Alien. the Engineers sacrifice which happened thousands if not millions of years ago. and then the sleeping Engineer in prometheus who had been there for 2000 years. in AC we see engineers of present day, de-evolved, ailing and sick.
This would explain why they where in aw of the returning vessel. one of many sent out in hopes to save then. Only of course for David to kill them.
It would also explain that after 10 years no other engineers came to investigate why the suddenly lost contact with the city. It may have been the very last city left. surly some one would of noticed if a entire city just vanished.
Im going to hazard a guess that it will end up david in the chair for Alien. his consciousness uploaded into Mother, and his body sacrificed to perfect his design.

MemberFacehuggerMay-26-2017 3:57 PMI think it was just an oversight by Scott hoping people wouldnt notice since its a brief scene.

MemberFacehuggerMay-26-2017 3:58 PMYes really need an explanation for the continuing muddled approach. Apart from the most obvious one... muddled film making. They really need to plan out in detail this world and all the goings on in terms of history age abilities motives. Because so many things are not adding up.
Ridley has said these are engineers but they really don't look the same as those Prometheus engineers. And the one they woke up supposedly had been there for 2000 odd years so not very long in evolutionary terms...:s
"It's almost as if they are making it up as they go along" :D

I've seen things you people wouldn't believe. Attack ships on fire off the shoulder of Orion. I watched Androids blow and finger each other's flutes.
