Ridley isn't changing his mind about how many movies. It's both 2 more and 6 more.

God knows ive almost given up guessing! He lost his marbles years ago but i love him :D .

I just hope there is a good film in there somewhere.  :O

I think Ridley is a sly fox. I'm sure he deliberately makes his answers vague, or changes them as he sees fit. More often than not he doesn't answer a question but goes off at a tangent.

A lot of it has to do with a number of factors, chiefly I think is his age, whilst he is healthy he will carry on "like a kid in a sweet shop." Ridley lives to make movies, he will never retire. In one interview he said "two more or maybe one more."

He's not going to tie himself into a specific number. I think that is one reason for the Alien Rule Book. He must have a pretty clear vision of where the future story is going and if he were to die, then any prequel/sequels will incorporate his ideas.

I think he deliberately leaves it vague to keep other people's/directors interests away from the franchise.

Hmm yes I tend to agree with you Lone - Ridley is indeed man full of riddles!  I've always noticed that he likes 2 keep us all guessing (that's why I loved Prometheus as it was a thinking fan's film). 

All i can say is strap me in for the crazy rides that await us all!
