With Ridley viewing the Engineers as the 'dark angels' of the universe, was one of them 'Prometheus', stealing 'fire/ black goo' from a hierarchy above, similar to the Sons of God/ Watchers in the "Book of Enoch"?
What is the hierarchy of the 'dark angel/ Engineers', and are the ones above them, the creators of the 'black goo', based on other HR Giger depictions from Necronomicon? Lilith and Baphomet?
Also, has anyone noticed that the 2,000 years prior to the crew's arrival on LV-223 was the 'Reign of Terror' of Domitian. Was this the period that led to the Engineers turning against us?
And why does Elizabeth Shaw's vivisection in Covenant remind me of Giger's Li I painting?
And if it was David who killed Shaw, why does his face show such pain, and tears in his eyes, when he drops the canisters from the Juggernaut on the race gathered below? His tears here would suggest his act here to be one of revenge, but the only thing he would feel the need to avenge would be for something he cared about, and the only thing he cared about was Elizabeth. But he then claims at the end of the film that he did something to her!? So if he isn't seeking revenge on them for killing Elizabeth, why is he crying in this scene?
