In the an undated press interview, a blond Noomi Rapace expresses her own theory on how the character of Elizabeth Shaw might have evolved in a sequel to Prometheus.
Yeah, this thread has kind of derailed a bit. Let's stop with the "homo" talk, for the sake of being respectful and to remain on topic.
As per the OP, the video sadly has been removed by the user. Do you have a backup by chance?

Chris I found another link. Fixed
Interesting because Rappace is describing pretty much what it appears has happened to David.
I think she had discussed a lot with RS as far as where the Plot was Going, and i think she would have had knowledge to her Character Arc when RS was working with her on the Crossing Prologue.
I had said that Dr Shaw could be a interesting Character, she had lost everything in Prometheus the only Thing she had left was her FAITH... even knowing the Engineers created us... she asks "who created them" she also is at conflict to why any such Creators at the Top of any Creation Chain would Create Life but then want to Destroy it.
So this is what she wanted to know... and if she found out that the God of her Faith is NOTHING... and the Truth is a Horrific One and these Gods are Wicked... Then thats going to mean Shaw has NOTHING...
She has No Family, cant have Children and now her Faith is a Sham? All she has been taught about GOD and Creation is WRONG
That sure as Hell Can Mess a Person Up.... and so maybe she could be pushed to a Darker Thinking... Her Faith and Love for God in tatters is now a Hate Towards such Wicked and Evil beings.
Certainly was a Whole Dark/Sinister Plot that could Break Dr Shaw and turn her into a very different Character...
Maybe the ADF Prequel Book can delve into this for us..

BigDave Yes! Great point about how Noomi might have come up with that theory. It seems to me that Ridley has been beating around the bush as far as religious themes are concerned. He did it with Elizabeth Shaw and this time around with Oram. I think he probably wants to express ideas that the studios would simply not allow for being too controversial.
This interview was uploaded in 2014 , and yes the studios would never let " God " be shown for the true monster that he is .
Just out of curiosity, how come she was not in Covenant? I get the impression Rapace thought she would be from previous interviews, maybe she was just to busy hence one of the reasons in the story changing direction, also wonder if she will be in Awakening.

Sounds like somebody decided she could not sell tickets , expect the rock to star in the next one .
Thank you Epaphroditus, certainly seems that way! really hope she reappears in Awakening.
The Rock in an Alien movie? Hahaha I'd be tapped out.
As per the interview, I remember that. Yeah, the irony there being most people anticipating Covenant were also anticipating the fate of Shaw. So, Noomi not being cast definitely deterred a few people.

I (Existenzable / original account) was apparently kicked off this site after " cabin flutist yacob Wagner " made a snotty homoerotic remark that I should calm my interest in the Covenant mysteries by blowing a flute, to which I replied I'm only proficient at playing what Tom Robbins called the hairy harmonica.
I could no longer log in as Existenzable after that. Any explanations, Chris, Big Dave, anyone? You have a guy on here using the word "homo" and you eject a fan for a wayyyy too nice reply to a gay-related insult?
Look it up. Existenzable. Also, doesn't everyone on here take Alien seriously?
Some are more equal than others. Always. But if you can drop me over NOTHING, you can drop this person using the horrific word "homo." You was wrong, Big D, you was so wrong!
No gay insults.......my heterosexual joke got me canned. " Tdby " is no better than I am, sports.
I have been away from here for a few days and i never came across your post before Existenzable and so i had nothing to do with any accounts being banned/blocked. I would also see little need for it via your comment.
Chris is the best one to speak to on this matter, and i tend to ignore the Homophobic Remarks by others instead of providing Bait for any Trolling but i can assure you the person is Question is walking a Thin Line.
And i am sure if they keep up with any comments that are deemed Homophobic or take them to a lower level then they would be dealt with swiftly.
So i welcome you aboard and i would advice to ignore such insults in future and just report them to the Team/Mods ;)

As far as Shaw not being in the movie, it appeared FOX had felt the story of David + Shaw finding some remains of Engineers Civilization and wanting her answers was something they felt Fans in General was not pleased with.
And Fans wanted a more Alien Movie and so they did a U-Turn, and demoted her Role to a Prologue and short Hologram Scene.
The Rock Comment... ha ha yeah maybe he is a Budget Action Hero, and he is very versatile and i would love to see him play a more Serious Role.... Yes he will not be winning many Oscars but then that does not stop some Action Stars from being great and a big draw... i mean Arnold is a pretty poor Actor in General but it depends on what role he is given, some of his older Roles he played very well.
He is used like Dwayne Johnson a lot in some other more Family Flicks.. where Arnie's Acting is pretty lame.
Mind you i am not 100% sure on Dwayne as well i wont mention DOOM... oh just did lol
I think he could play a Marine if they bring them back into the Franchise though, and i would like to see him take on a more serious role.
But the Big Draw for the Franchise would be Miss Weaver, and i think FOX would consider bringing Ripley Back... which i am not happy with as i overall dont rate Miss Weaver, she has a few good roles but in general she is not Great but then its often not just about being a Great Actor/Actress to Sell Tickets.

Existenzable6 I just looked at your other profile and you don't seem to be banned. Have you maybe forgot your log in info? Everything you said in that lengthy post is so true! Covenant is a massive disappointment; the writers had no interest in making any sense at all. There is no conflict because the characters are so dumb that they never know what's going on around them at any given point of the story; no suspense or mystery (or at least no good ones); characters are either dimwits or larger than life archetypes conceived by dimwit writers. You never get any explanation as of why David cries among many other things because new elements are constantly introduced in the plot, but the script refuses to follow up on them. This is probably the result of the many re-writes and the excessive number of people involved in them. It doesn't look like a collaborative effort; I don't see how this could possibly be the result of two or more individuals exchanging ideas in real time: it looks more like people vetoing each others ideas while apart, ignorant of what the previous writer had in mind. Take the example of "The Mummy", which coincidentally has Prometheus' Jon Spaiths among its many authors.
17 here and I would never use the word "homo" as an insult, since it literally means man or human, plus I do find it quite offensive as one of my close friends is gay, but I get it lol, anyway back to the topic, I don't see how or why Shaw would "turn to the dark side", maybe David convinced her that humans and engineers are evil species that have to be terminated. "It must have felt like your God abandoned you"
