MemberOvomorphJul-17-2017 11:06 PMI'm not sure if this is the best place to put this but I have written a song about how Jonesy was shamefully left behind in Aliens. I must say that I was disappointed that there were no cats in Alien: Covenant. I hope this song goes someway in making sure that there are cats in the next movie.
The Perplexing Alienation of Jonesy (The Best Cat in the Universe)
Jonesy, why were you left behind?
How could they be so blind?
They should have took you from Earth
so you could save humankind
Jonesy, why were you left behind?
Don't say they're being kind
It takes a special kind of being
to defeat an Alien mastermind
Now you don't need ammunition
To lead it to demolition
We know that's science fact not science fiction
And people think because you're small
That it didn't go for you at all
But you it didn't strike cause you're too beautiful
Jonesy, the best cat in the universe
You make us proud, so proud that our chests burst
So why'd they make you stay?
You could have saved the day
Jonesy, why were you left behind?
They don't know what they'll find
They'll probably lose their mind
Cause they left you behind
Coda:
Jonesy, the best cat in the universe
You're so good that you need another verse
But I can't think of any more words to say how great you are
But if there's one word that makes me feel safe and warm inside...
Then it's Jonesy...

MemberFacehuggerJul-18-2017 12:56 PMI like it :)
I also hoped that we could see a cat in Alien Covenant... Too bad.
Maybe there will be a Jonesy-Spin-Off ;)

MemberPraetorianJul-18-2017 10:52 PMVery nice!!
The concept of Ship's Cat & Mascot is alive and well in my works, and the little ragamuffin gets a fair amount of 'screentime' too :)
IN SPACE THERE IS NO WARNING

MemberFacehuggerAug-15-2017 7:21 PMI especially love this line
"Jonesy, the best cat in the universe
You make us proud, so proud that our chests burst"

MemberTrilobiteAug-15-2017 7:31 PMI cannot think of Jonesy without being reminded of Hobbes. Here is his song and much relates to Jonesy as a feline:
A Tiger is Fierce, a Tiger is Loyal,
A Tiger is always a friend to a boy.
A Tiger is Brave, a Tiger is Noble,
A Tiger is never reclusive or coy.
If you meet a Tiger, prepare to be awestruck,
For Tigers are wonderful, peachy and keen,
Their Teeth are as sharp as an icicle hanging,
Their Claws stay in use, so they're constantly clean.
A Tiger is Captain of all he can see;
So bow to the Tiger if you would be free.

MemberOvomorphAug-16-2017 2:54 AMI have written music to this song with a piano accompaniment. I'm a bit busy at the moment but I could probably have some sort of recording in a couple of weeks or so.

MemberTrilobiteAug-16-2017 2:57 AMJohn_Tucker That would be outstanding! I don't think that has happened on this forum- you could be a first!

MemberOvomorphSep-08-2017 10:05 PMSorry for the not posting this earlier but I had some technical issues recording and uploading the song, which can be found at the link below. This has been the first time I have tried to sing and play piano at the same time, which proved to be a very humbling experience. I think there's enough there to get how the song goes but if anyone wants to try and do a better version then please feel free to do so.

MemberTrilobiteSep-02-2020 10:25 PMI forgot about this amazing song. I had more of a death/thrash metal vibe in mind, but this is a good tune with great lyrics and your music fits perfectly. Can someone help out this dude to make it happen?
John_Tucker Great song!

MemberNeomorphSep-04-2020 2:24 AMJonesy deserves credits, he survived a close encounter with the Xeno. Close encounters with the Xeno-kind. :D
Most of the humans died, the cat survived and lived the rest of his life happy ever after at the space station (Aliens, at least I hope that he did).
I wonder what Scott or Weaver would say if they heard that song? This is a serious question, I say that it is probably not that common to make a song about an animal in a movie. My guess is that it is more common to write pictures or make books that are alien related.
Speaking of the Prodigy, they should do a techno song when they sample Brett when he said something like
"Jonesy, meoww, that kitty stuff" and have it here and there in the song.
