The evolution of the Chestburster in A:C
Lawrence of Arabia
MemberChestbursterSep-18-2017 9:39 AMThere's a drawing by the name of "Ladies" in David's sketches that shows the chestburster as it looks while gestating. This work was done by Dane Hallet and his inspiration for it was Alien 3's poster featuring the Queen nymph but with a more detailed and closer look to Ridley's original. As the chestburster springs forth from Oram you can see the creature evolving on screen from nymph to young adult. I believe the chestbursters redesign is simply because of the modern effects we have available today as opposed to 1979.

Is there an agenda the mods are not telling us about? ;)

MemberChestbursterSep-18-2017 1:10 PMCould be from exiting Oram's body and the heat inside.

MemberPraetorianSep-18-2017 3:51 PMThe steam is a really nice touch, hot body - cold tomblike room.
so is Oram's fingers twitching and curling up into a spider-like rigor mortis.

MemberChestbursterSep-18-2017 4:13 PMI thought so too, Ridley definitely has an eye for detail. The way Oram convulsed with his tongue piercing out was uncomfortable to watch lol

MemberChestbursterSep-19-2017 1:27 PMThank you for the awesome gif :D Didn't realize how much gore the chestburster was covered in, truly horrific. I also dug the transparent look the little Xeno had, could that harken back to Giger's original look for the titular beast?
