'Imagine the scene: the poor little horned worm stares confused at David because it can’t find “available orifices” on him. It’s hilarious.'

MemberDeaconOct-04-2017 6:51 AMAgain this is something i am not a fan of... the hints of Re-Animating a Engineer?
I would rather it be that if a Body is kept on ICE or similar, then the Xeno-Virus and related Parasites do not need a Living Host, just not a decomposed Host.
It can be ambiguous though, maybe some Engineers were in Cryo-Pods that David simply Re-animated them via activating the Cryo-Pods to awaken the Sleeping, UN-animated Engineers.

MemberChestbursterOct-04-2017 12:40 PMi am totally ashamed that a franchise i love, which opened up the universe, then contradict so much that it goes from a groundbreaking idea with lores, rules and a potential future which could of dwarfed Star Wars if done correctly. Remember we hold the Ace card because we have links to Earth, possible pre visitation and creation and God themes which was opened up so magnificently that it grabbed my attention so much i invested a large part of my life into it.
1000s of hours. Like many of us. Only to realise that the guys at Fox have put no where near that amount of time, love and dedication into what could of been the greatest franchise of all time.
Just one of my sad little note books contain at least 200 hrs investigations. Darent tell you how many they are. i juust embarrass me.regardless i do it for me now as Alien: Wotever is a Fox footnote.
Evidence for this: Well i aint got time at the moment but just the errors and continuiity issues have killed me off
Take This.... This is the blood of our lord

MemberDeaconOct-04-2017 1:46 PMI think FOX may have felt the failings for Prometheus, because it was a hit/miss movie where it was Loved and Hated by Fans, i feel FOX may have wondered if taking it to the Ancient Astronaut, Curveball with the Space Jockey and tone down the Xenomorphs was a Mistake
So it seems they decided to Add more % Xeno and take away the Engineer Aspects... When really it needed to tone the Engineers only slightly down and bring in the Xenomorphs.
I am not sure if FOX will feel that exploring the Engineers as far as the Deep Themes of Creation is a area they will now ever explore, not on Film not for a while.
I think they need to bring the Engineers back, but give us some Horrific Agenda and Purpose, or have them to be part of a Horrific Agenda.
Maybe we will get another Curveball? Maybe they could even go the route that a more Ancient Version of Mankind Created the Engineers?
Who knows..

MemberXenomorphOct-05-2017 3:31 AMIt seems this horned worm is the starting point in creating the facehugger. Perhaps that engineer was unconscious after being infected with the worm, something similar with the state hosts go into after being impregnated by a facehugger and David reanimated him. We should suppose not all engineers died as a result of the pathogen in the first days after bombing.
I believe this note about the horned worm is intended to explain further that David created the Protomorph. From scratch.

MemberDeaconOct-05-2017 5:25 AMI think there are clues that indeed not all the Engineers Died.....
As how does David get Hosts for his experiments? he experimented on Life Forms, and so not all was destroyed in the Bombardment, but it is just really BAD Writing to be honest... really not done their Homework i am afraid.
But explanations i thought of would be that maybe
1) The Docking Ship had Engineers on it and after it crashed, the few survivors inside were not affected by the Bombardment outside. But then we have to ask how does David over power a number of Engineers when One Dealt with him with Ease in Prometheus... Again a bit of Lazy work IMO.
2)There were a large number of Engineers already in and close to the Cathedral Dome, and they all appeared to trying to Run into the Building before it went into Lock Down. So we can Assume this Place Gave Shelter from the Black Goo Bombardment..
But again we come to the "how does David over power a number of Engineers"
On Both accounts i can assume that the Bombardment contaminates the Atmosphere etc so its not Safe Outside, and so any Engineers inside the Docking Ship and any who made it to Safety inside the Cathedral, would have to wait a number of Months, Years... before it was SAFE.
In this time they may have had limited Food/Drink as they was not prepared for such a Bombardment and eventually Malnutrition and Starvation would leave any Engineers who survived being very weak and Ripe for the Pickings.
But i am kind of thinking those who worked on the Story, never gave much thought and ULTIMATELY...
David can just Raise Dead Engineers from the Dead...

It sounds good. :)
Plus I'm sure they took some guns from Prometheus with them, so David had a gun. :D

MemberFacehuggerOct-05-2017 11:33 PMI think with 're-animate' they mean bring it back to 'life' artificially, like they did with the Engineer head in Prometheus. It's of course not really alive.

MemberXenomorphOct-05-2017 11:44 PMWhy David would try to reanimate an engineer only to extract a worm that was already inside the engineer's bowels? I believe the engineer was unconscious after the worm entered his body, David found him and woke him up, not from the dead, but from unconsciousness.
I don't believe David had with him the electrodes and stuff they used to reanimate the Engineer's head from Prometheus.
