Weyland is the quintessential human and represents our species but his hubris, and by extension our own, led to his downfall and is the very reason the Engineers can't stand us living on any further.

With that much pride, Peter Weyland's fall had to be magnificent...and it was Lawrence of Arabia.

That was wonderful how the Engineer went from listening to cracking skulls in a moment. I'm glad that segment was used in the film opposed to the longer version where the Engineer speaks in the deleted scene.
