Alien Covenant is definitely picking up a lot of Gothic/Romantic influences which I think Ridley had from the outset with Prometheus.

Lot of relevant information contained in the book in regards to Alen: Covenant. I would encourage people to read the book or at least listen to some book analysis on youtube. A lot on what it means to be 'alive'(David) and about Creation (Milton's Paradise Lost) etc..

All the best

Part of what I find so fascinating about the prequel films is their story of creation and, indeed, it parallels Frankenstein a lot. It fits as both tales are one of reaching for the stars but being burned by the sun for getting too close, forcing you to face the meaningless of it. This review is a good analysis of this.
