he is one of the best directors working today. this by itself dosn't nessesarily make a good choice. for example, steven spielberg is also one of the best directors working today but hewould still be a bad choiceto direct an alien film. however, quinten tarintinos movies have many key elements to what made the first alien so great. first of all he writes and directs fantastic charectors that are likeable and smart. this was a very big complaint with covenant. second of all, his films build so much tension. (espiecially inglorious basterds) he can build just so much suspense with just dialoge.https://vimeo.com/86741537
in this scene, a nazi is investigating a home in search of hiding jews. there is indead jews hidig beneath the floarboards and throughout the scene you are biting your nails hoping he dosn't know. this is not the same kind of tension as in an alien movie fearing what lurks in the dark but it is something that could easily transfered.
another thing quinten tarintino dose very well is action and violence. he dose present his violence in a somewhat more fun over the top way in movies like kill bill but He still dose it briliantly.
quinten tarintino is also an extremly popular director among movie goers so him directing an alien movie would spark tons of intrest from people who wouldent normaly go see an alien film. the final point I have to make is that quinten tarintino has expressed intrest in the sci fi genre recently. he is aparently onboard to direct the next star trek movie wich he claims will be rated R.
this was all sparked when I watched pulp fiction tonight. let me know if you agree or dissagree with me in the comments.
