But here's my opinion anyway... Ridley seems to be talking about the taget audience and he says Disney are the best in what they do. So probably yeah, he might be thinking about retooling the franchise so it can be more accessible to a younger audience. Not necessarity a PG-13, but maybe a restricted movie that is teen friendly, in the "It" fashion.

MemberTrilobiteJan-05-2018 8:25 PMIt is interesting to hear about Disney possibly thinking about its longer term streaming strategy. I have held that the Alien franchise could shoot off into 3 streaming directions and possibly a 4th (idea sparked from joylitt):
1. A series that focuses on AI. More cerebral' light on action
2. One that focuses on Engineers. 70% cerebral; 30% action. More of a middle ground.
3. Focus on the Xenomorph. 60% action; 40% story/cerebral.
All percentages are arbitrary and reflect only a general compass.
4. Episodical in the spirit of Black Mirror/Twilight Zone. It would be set in the general Alien universe, but each episode would be its own thing.

MemberTrilobiteJan-05-2018 10:31 PMRight. I have pitched my idea on a multi front way to make the franchise palatable to fans of all stripes in a calm and reasoned way to no avail. Regrettably, I will resort to a tantrum.
Disney and Sir Scott, respectfully:
