THEORY: How Shaw might be alive

Its a interesting theory...

There is a lot of Untold Events that transpired from the Moment of David and Dr Shaws Arrival to the point she was used for Experiments.

It is likely Dr Shaw was alive for some time,  its likely she was kept in a Web of Lies and Deceit by David, its likely she ONE day discovered what he had been up to and this would certainly have changed their Relationship.

It looked likely some Engineers Survived the Bombardment too.

Looking at Comments between Hallet and Hatton, they had pondered/teased that indeed David could have not to much Clone.. but to Re-animate Engineers....  Well these beings certainly become Totally Repaired, so they appeared as though they had not been in contact with the Pathogen.

Its all just theories and ideas they had, I am not a Fan of the idea the Black Goo can Resurrect the Dead to back to Life... but i guess if it can then this Substance was the SECRET that Weyland would have so LONGED for.

The Cloning Aspect is interesting though as far as what the Source i had was hinting, and some of the Concept Art by Khang Le did seem to match the stuff the Source had Explained.

Did David build all this from Scratch with Various Engineer Technology? Or had the Engineers had some Technology/Laboratory where they could Clone/Grow Embryos that David just Manipulated and Altered?

It does appear to be Dark Haired Females in these images, could David had used Dr Shaws Egg Cells and then Engineer Technology and Elements of the Black Goo to Create Dr Shaw Clones from her own Egg Cells?

Who knows.  Its interesting to consider.

Interesting Dark Nebula. It seems plausible. However, developing that idea seems best for a mini series. As fascinating as it is, it would take a long time to release as a sit down movie series considering the rate things have been going.

There certainly was a lot of potential with discovering the Engineers.

You can understand the DILEMMA they Faced with any sequel to Prometheus.  Where the Key Things would have been the Engineers outlook regarding Mankind.

*Do those Engineers know about Mankind?

*If so do they know about the Plans to Eradicate us and did they agree with this course of Action.

*Why would they had wanted Mankind Destroyed, but then abandon any attempts to carry on and Finish the Job, this depends IF the Engineers on Planet 4 are aware of those reasons and what LV-223 had became and agreed with it.

*If they abandoned us, because the Mission to Eradicate us was too costly, so they decided to leave us to ROT and Destroy ourselves.  Then how would they FEEL once they find out we NOT only can Travel the Stars and Reach LV-223 but we can use their Technology and Find their Home-world.  If they saw us a a Threat.. NO soon as we turn up on Planet 4 you can be sure their Main Concern would be a Space Fairing Human Race.

So the only way David and Dr Shaw could survive a encounter would be IF these Engineers are Benevolent.  But where do you go ONCE David and Dr Shaw have had a good Chat with these beings, and if they are INTERESTED in us then you have to ask WHY they never returned prior to ALIENS and if they FEEL THREATENED again would they not want to Prevent us from Exploring the Galaxy.

So it was always difficult to cover how David and Dr Shaw interact with these beings, its a reason i abandoned my Prometheus 2/3.   As i tried to take on board Ridley Scotts comments... so when he said THEY would find these beings who are NOT Gods and FAR from Benevolent, that to me seemed to show that David and Dr Shaw attempts to meet them would be FOLLY but RS did say David was BRINGING HELL with him.

Which is why a Bombardment/Eradication of these beings was Inevitable.   Which meant less chance of any Interaction with them.

So Dark Nebula i think any idea about Dr Shaw managing to come across a few Surviving Engineers would have been interesting, and so there could have been potential for such a thing.

We see Fresh Engineer Bodies must have been used for some of his Experiments, and i dont by the David could Re-Animate them.

I just cant see those Dead Engineer Remains being able to be brought back to life so they are in Pristine Condition.  I also cant see how David could Over-Power Pristine Condition Engineers.

So i think its likely after the Outbreak some would have found SANCTUARY a place Protected from the Contamination, but like a Nuclear Fall Out, they would have to Remain In this Sanctuary for a while and as the BOMBARDMENT was a Surprise Attack the Places these Engineers were Held up in may have had Limited Food/Water Supply.

So they would have been Weak, and so easier Pickings for David, and if the Engineers are like Humanity, the Males may provide the Food and Water for the Woman and Children as Priority.

So it would have been interesting to see David Experimenting on Captured Female Engineers and Infants when Dr Shaw makes this Discover.... and a interesting thing would have been if Dr Shaw HELPED to Rescue/Set Free some of these Engineers.

THIS would have allowed for those Engineers to maybe see Dr Shaw as their Savior and so would treat her differently as if they OWED her their Lives.

I actually envisioned it as a 4 issue comic books, much like Darkhorse fire and stone/ life and death comic books.

Each comic having its own art style and ending with a cliffhanger.

Hopefully not, that was one of the things that AC did right. I do not like this because the Engineers were mad at mankind and story-wise I think that it is more interesting if they are mad at all humans.

As far as some Engineers surviving David’s bombing that could be interesting. We will see if they will have some of that in the next movie if we will see one.

Yup I do not like the idea of the goo being able to bring back the dead to life. It was already confusing the way it was in AC. There has got to be something thought out about it so it does not become whatever that the user wants it to be because that would be a bad story writing.

I think the Goo can Re-Animate Cells, but by doing so it basically kills what was Originally there...   And so i would assume it would maybe Re-Animate a Humanoid but this Humanoid would Mutate into a Hybrid and so would not be a case of some Magical Resurrection Potion.

I certain think a lot could have happened between Prometheus and Alien Covenant.

Its not a case of Dr Shaw recovers Davids Body then 4 days latter Sends that SOS Message from the ATV Buggy and off they go onto the Juggernaught where a Headless David Manages to get the Ship into Orbit.

Then they spend a few Weeks Bonding, then Dr Shaw Fixes David, then they set the course for Planet 4 and off into Cryo-Sleep she goes.  While David heads off to the Engineers World, Bombards them, crashes the Ship.

Then Dr Shaw is either Injured and David keeps her held up in the Juggernaught for a while, or she is not injured and is kept their either against her own will, or informed its not Safe Outside.

Then weeks after Dr Shaw discovers something, which causes a rift and we end up with David killing her and using her Body to Create his Xenomorphs.

I would bet its not as Simple and Plain as this... and the Events between when she collected Davids Body/Head until the Time Dr Shaw is a Corpse and David obtains his FIRST Perfected Specimen... I FEEL a lot has transpired between those DATES/EVENTS.

"-They both settled inside of the citadel. David spent most of the time providing Shaw with food. He and Shaw both began studying Planet 4's fauna and flora."

I believe this part matched a section of the Alien: Covenant novelization in regards to Dr. Shaw surviving the arrival to Planet 4 and having a room in the citadel. Great writing Dark Nebula.

Excellent theory. I really enjoy the safe harbor of the surviving Engineers sympathetic to Dr. Shaw...then morph attacks...this would be a great comic book set.

I think this is a interesting addition, was it from the Earlier Draft? or the Novel?  I still have not got myself the Novel yet i suppose i best get it and also take a look at the early draft for Alien Covenant.

Because they seem to indicate that Dr Shaw had at some point arrived to the Citadel/Cathedral and in which case we have to wonder HOW did David explain the Death of those Engineers to her, and at what point if he was not Honest does she find the TRUTH?

The Actual Movie however we do see Dr Shaw had parts of her Suit and some Possessions on the Crashed Juggernaught, and so in this Version was she HELD UP in the Juggernaught?   Or did she go to the Citadel/Cathedral at some point... which then may mean something happened and she either tried to Escape in the Juggernaught or Attempted to Hold herself up inside away from something.

We clearly see David must have had some more Fresh Engineer Corpses to Study and Experiment with, including Females and Children and so its a interesting Question to Ponder DID Dr Shaw KNOW about these and the Experiments on them... and what would her Action had been.

You would think IF she knew there was survivors then she would WANT David to ask them in front of her for some ANSWERS..

So bearing that in MIND and I feel there could be some conflicts and contradictions to the other Plots... as i would feel Dr Shaw would not allow David to Experiment/Torture and Abuse those Engineers, UNLESS Dr Shaw became Unstable and Mad too or when trying to get Answers the Engineers had UPSET HER... But then latter she ends up back on the Juggernaught with her Belongings (Holloway Photo) and some of her Gear/Space Suit...  which may mean some conflict with David after there adventures to Study the Wild-Life and Fauna etc

To me looking at the Dynamic from Prometheus and what Dr Shaw wanted and what we see in the Movie... i would ASSUME Dr Shaw was told its only SAFE for her in the Juggernaught as David brings her Food/Drink but then i suspect ONE DAY she ventures out and Discovers what David has been up to.

the engineers may all be clones and if that is the case, then there is a cloning facility on the planet. David has been there for 10 years so its very possible he would have found it. it wouldn't have been hidden as there would be no need to hide the facility as it is their only means of procreation. I found it strange, and strange no one seems to have mentioned this (if they have iv missed it sorry) but it is strange there is a grave for Shaw yet a body of Shaw on the table. it may yet be the original Shaw in the ground as David obviously cared and respected her so it would make sense he buried her with dignity yet the clones are not her so David has no issues with what hes doing to them

This is a interesting concept,  On ONE hand its a Good Question to Ponder would anyone view a Clone of the Person they Loved, purely as being just a Organic Vessel to Experiment with?

Who knows...  Hatton and Hallet did tease and ponder in some of their comments about Cloning or Resurrecting Dr Shaw.

I would however think David would keep ONE Clone to Raise and Mold to his liking to become what he wanted from Dr Shaw...   Who knows if this was what he did, but then its a Question of how many Clones would he make and WHY he would not clone anymore.

Those Engineers dont look like Clones, but then we found out that there was not a Large number of Actors behind those Engineers and so we could take ONE Actor lets call him ROBBY and he would use different costumes/hats to play a number of Engineers and then they were Digitally replicated to become the Many we saw up close and the Thousands from a Distance.

So all those Engineers were played by what, less than 20 different Actors and so they essentially CLONED the Actors by Digitally added the various Shots of them in different Outfits...

Which if we say there was 15 Actors used in Total...  we could use this for a THEORY that do these Engineers Clone themselves from 15 different versions of their kind.?

Yes we have Infants/Children from Davids Works... but these could be Clones and not actually Procreated Offspring...

Its certainly a different idea to think about.

I know some were interested in seeing how Dr Shaw's Character could have been Evolved and are Sad that she had been KILLED OFF...

With Ridley Scott saying the Sequel would be more to do with AI, and this was indeed something i touched upon years ago with my Prometheus 2 Plot, where i introduce OPERATION ROOK as Peter Weylands True Agenda...    which involves reasons for Technology such as the Dream Visor, the Synapse Re-Stabilizer and the Pursuit in Creating David....  as David will NEVER Die, NEVER Grow Old but he lacks the ONE thing a Human has... a SOUL!

I had i idea for my Prometheus 2 which i canned a long while back, but  brought these ideas into the discussion on Alien Covenant and Weyland prior to the movies Release.

Weyland Wants to Live Forever... he is a Scientist and so would not believe in Gods and After-Life as such... so i suspected he was working on a Project, where IF/ONCE he could upload his Dreams, Memories, Experiences and Emotions to a AI Program and then UPLOAD this to a Synthetic then Peter Weyland would have Conquered Death... and become IMMORTAL and have a SOUL a Existence beyond his Dead Physical Body.... a AI SOUL

But he could not Perfect this and had to Turn to Dr Shaw and her would be GODS to grant him a chance of Longer Life...

NOW... what if David could have Stored Dr Shaws SOUL to a Engineer Computer System.... and then Upload this to a Synthetic Body?  

Its a bit of a Far Stretch.... maybe he could do it with Daniels... the only Problem is we have to assume the only Synthetic Parts at his disposal are WALTER parts and so having David build a Walter with the Soul of Dr Shaw or Daniels and him having a Affection for this Doppelganger with a Love Interest Soul could get a little bit ODD or very CLEVER if done right?

According to the official film plot, Shaw is dead. But I think the filmmakers can change that in future movies/media. I've seen tons of movie/game characters getting killed off and then later be brought by some miracle.

For one example I can think of is Halloween H20 which was supposed to be the last Halloween movie. At the end of the film, Laurie Strode finally kills Michael Myers by decapitating him. And that was the end.

But then came Halloween: Resurrection and the film showed that Michael Myers faked his death by switching clothes with the paramedic and also cut the paramedics throat so he couldn't speak.

For another example, I can think of is Jun Kazama from Tekken series. At the beginning of Tekken 3, Jun was killed by Ogre and this led her son Jin (the game's protagonist) to avenge her. Before that, Jin's father Kazuya was killed by Heihachi, who threw his body into a volcano. Jin was supposed to serve as a replacement for Kazuya since he had Kazuya's moves. Since Kazuya had a large fanbase, the developers brought him back from the dead in Tekken 4 (I don't know how they explained how he survived the fall into a volcano) and gave Jin different move set. As for Jun, she also had a large fanbase. And when Tekken tag tournament 2 (noncanonical game) was announced, and she was revealed as a playable character, the whole fanbase went apeshit that the Tekken director Harada decided to change her status from dead to "missing".

Definitely think Shaw is alive. The body on the table could be an engineer female teenager that David put a wig made from his own hair on to make it look more like Shaw since he loves her and she escaped. The grave a decoy.

Why a decoy you ask? In the bluray extras didn't he send transmissions back to WY? When he gets on board the Covenant he uses a clearance code so someone high ranking at WY gave him clearance, knew to open the ship's battery saver thing and make it look like an accident. They knew Shaw made a call out because David told them so the grave was to cover up her escape.

I'm assuming there is a conflict in interest between Weiland and Yutani branches and this project needed full secrecy. The high ranked WY big boss must have known she escaped so they also sent Walter so David could impersonate him if need be. All they care about is David's knowledge. Crew expendable. David is rogue obviously but WY don't know that.
