Lots of references to the 80's throughout the film....music in particular, but this one stood out to me
Looks a little like a certain M41a Pulse Rifle.....
Not the first time the iconic design has been referenced in Pop Culture however...

Though of a Bullpup design the other similarities of this weapon are unmistakably an Aliens reference, most notably the context of the particular episode.
