The Film Theory Of Everything
MemberOvomorphOct-02-2020 8:17 AMThis may have been covered but Noah Hawley, who was involved with FARGO tv series, LEGION tv series & a pitch for a new STAR TREK idea/film (or involved with STAR TREK: STRANGE NEW WORLDS) has apparantly been in talks to pitch an idea for a new tv series involving ALIEN... What do You think about that!?

MemberDeaconOct-02-2020 4:03 PM"The Disney-Fox merger may have ended those hopes for now, but we’re hoping for a potential return based on Hawley’s angle in. Namely: it’s about the people, not the xenomorphs."
Well there was Rumors of a TV Show back in 2018/2019 so maybe it had some Foundation, i think the DISNEY Merger had meant some STUFF had been Canned or on Hold.
We have talked on here before about a TV Series and HOW there is MORE to the ALIEN Franchise than Xenomorphs and Ripley.
So you could have a TV Show that covers some STUFF from the Franchise that is within the SAME UNIVERSE as ALIEN but have to NOT be a ALIEN TV Show if you get what i mean as the ALIEN is sometimes too Synonymous with the Xenomorph.
So EVEN if they dont Explore the Engineers or anything they have Created their is PLENTY to Cover in a SPIN OFF.
Weyland and Yutani were ONCE separate Companies and we had a BIT of History/Information with Weyland Industries via the Prometheus Website, and seen Peter Weyland. But there is still SO MUCH that could be Covered by Weyland-Yutani.
With Potentially 100 Years of History prior to ALIEN for the Weyland Company and WHO KNOWS as to HOW OLD the Yutani Corporation are.
Those Companies have NOT spend all their TIME in the Pursuit of the Xenomorph or making Flute Playing Androids.
Also the Colonial Marines are NOT around to purely BUG HUNT the Xenomorph.
And so YES i think you can have TV Show especially that is SET in the same Universe as ALIEN but either has NO XENOMORPH or they Play a SMALL Part only.
But it depends on DISNEY and what they would want and WHAT they Feel will Make $$$$ and Views/Subscriptions.... so maybe it be about Xenomorphs or Ripley then lol

MemberOvomorphOct-02-2020 4:24 PMSure, I get what You mean BigDave... (i.e.) WEYLAND . . . or WEYLAND: BUILDING BETTER WORLDS . . . or just BUILDING BETTER WORLDS.
You know Me, I love that idea of using WEYLAND as a backdrop to get started with & potentially have spins-offs emmenate from that such-as what apparantly is going to continue with The Mandalorian regarding Asoka mini-series, Boba Fett mini-series & so-on.

MemberXenomorphOct-02-2020 7:11 PMThat project was abandoned some time ago, butbafter the succes of Raised by Wolves it is a good chance it will be reconsidered.
As long as it does not imply marines shooting xenomorphs it should be a step forward.

MemberTrilobiteOct-02-2020 8:58 PMI would like to see a focus on WY and its dirty deeds. I can do without militants and monsters since that seems sort of played out. Those elements being sprinkled in could be nice but shouldn't be the focus. As long as it's good, I am all for it.

MemberNeomorphOct-03-2020 4:10 AM“Alien is on some level the complete opposite of Stark Trek. It’s sort of about humanity at its worst…”
He seems to get it, at least theoretically. It isn't about androids, it isn't about the monster, it's about humans and how low they can sink when they are only in it for themselves. What Ripley said to Burke in Aliens sums it up perfectly in my opinion.
Give that guy the job and we will maybe see something good, something that we haven't seen since Alien 3. Have him making the third prequel maybe? It can't get much worse than what the prequels have done this far.

MemberOvomorphOct-18-2020 7:13 AMGood idea. Make it a community in a large space station, claustrophobic, with little need for CGI.
