Welcome all new and returning members! - Introduce yourself below and let us know made YOU an Alien fan!

For me - it was when I was like 8 years old my grandparents let me watch ALIENS and I was instantly captivated. I actually saw James Cameron's sequel before I saw Ridley Scott's original but after that I made it my mission to watch them all. From there came the obsession with Dark Horse Comics, then the games and the rest if history. Since then, Alien has been my top favorite sci-fi franchise, even to this day.

It's a great time to be a fan of Alien and I'm sure the new films and the series will bring about a new generation of Alien fans as well. So for anyone new, or who have been here for a while - share YOUR story with us too! What made YOU and Alien fan?

What piqued my interest was the first film on vhs back in the mid 90s although I was way too young to watch it at the time. The thing that stayed with me the most was the antagonist itself, primarily its unique design but also how utterly violent and unstoppable it was. Unlike anything else, it was equal parts terrifying and as Ash would say: "fascinating" (a testament to H.R Giger's phenomenal talent for art and the whole film crew's amazing work)

What followed were the other films (Alien Resurrection being the first one I thoroughly finished) the Dark Horse comic books (personal favorite being Aliens: Alchemy from 1997) and the games, especially Alien Trilogy for the PS1.

I'd say I became a dedicated fan around 96-97 and have been every since thanks to how strong the franchise has kept going in regards to the amount of games, merchandise and films.

Long live Alien!

I like science fiction and I read the book before I saw the first movie.

I honestly don't recall. I'm 35 years old. I grew up with Alien in the 90's with Kenner figures. Aliens was always a rental fave along with Star Wars. If we'd rent Alien I'd always want to rent Aliens even if we just rented it. I'd refer to Aliens as the "first one" because I'm certain it was the first one I saw. I remember getting the blue Kenner Warrior Alien which I still have and the guy checking us out at Kmart said where were these when he was a kid.                                                                                                                     I remember the first time i knew about Alien Resurrection was seeing the novelization at an Albertsons. I had seen all three movies and knew Ripley died. I then got to see Alien Resurrection in theaters at 7 years old. My first R rated movie in theaters followed close by Starship Troopers lol. The 90s were different. 27 year old me was flagged for ID when I saw Alien Covenant opening weekend because I looked young. Times have changed for sure. I've seen every Alien movie in theaters since Resurrection except for AVP Requiem. Was there for AVP opening weekend at 14. Saw Prometheus a month late at 22. Covenant opening weekend at 27 (already mentioned i know) and Romulus opening day at 34. Finally got to see ALIEN on the big screen last year too for its 45th(!) Anniversary. Hoping Aliens goes back to theaters next year for it's 40th and you can guarantee I'll be there. It's my favorite movie in my favorite franchise.                                                                                                                     I still play every game, read comics (though I just can't anymore with the current Marvel entries) and finally getting caught up with the Titan novels.                                                    I'll just quote Ripley on this one "You've been in my life so I can't remember anything else."
