MemberChestbursterJan-03-2017 11:51 AMI'm scared already just thinking about an "Alien:Isolation" sort of VR experience. That game was scary enough WITHOUT the VR...
metalos
MemberOvomorphJan-03-2017 12:56 PMI'm sure this will be good somehow i must get a VR platform.
I know this not will be a video game but i hope we got a proper Alien game too sometime. Alien: Isolation did it good, Aliens-Colonial Marines was a big let down and the AvP just... well it was just about the gore the story wasn't to original. The first two AvP game still the best games along with Isolation. SEGA is just sitting on the rights. I will be happy with an Isolation style game with much more adventuring more way to defend you and the whole game set in the now extended alien universe with engineers, xenomorphs, black goo, neomorphs in a very interesting engineer world.

Even without VR, this could become another great game ala Isolation if SEGA would support it. Creative Assembly seemed like they wanted to follow up but they didn't sell enough copies-eventhough the reception and ratings were rock solid positive. Here is hoping!

Damn, I need to get me a
psVr but its expensive.

MemberDeaconJan-04-2017 9:29 AMI think once VR becomes more common place and cheaper.. it would lead to a whole new World of possibilities that can make you feel more part of the Action.
And Survival Horror Type Games would benefit the most from this...
Neomorph
MemberChestbursterJan-04-2017 10:15 AMI agree BigDave it's too expensive, niched and needs considerably more attention from the general market as VR currently isn't as successful as expected, based on underwhelming sales statistics.
I can see why, because it isn't exactly easy to market a platform that has to be tested personally to fully do justice to the experience, no trailers work effectively in this regard.
On topic it would most certainly work wonders with the Alien concept, with Alien Isolation being an example.

MemberTrilobiteJan-04-2017 12:48 PMIt will be interesting if this takes off. I remember a big push for 3D TVs and that seems to have died down. VR could be great but it has to be easy, effective and affordable to get broad appeal.

MemberFacehuggerJan-05-2017 5:05 AMBut won't this require some fancy Playstation (or whatever) gaming system?
Neomorph
MemberChestbursterJan-05-2017 6:54 AMThey're actually pretty cheap in comparison to a VR set.

MemberOvomorphJan-06-2017 11:58 PMProbably not for Samsung Gear VR though - Got one for Xmas, but there's just not enough decent content :(
