Alien: Romulus 2 begins filming sooner than expected and may include more than just Xenomorphs! Fede Alvarez's next Alien movie, the sequel to Alien: Romulus is supposedly gearing up to start filming as early as this Fall! The news comes to us from the Marea Nocturna podcast (available on Spotify). Fede Alvarez explains the Alien: Romulus sequel is currently in pre-production but that he expects cameras to start rolling by October of this year.
Back in April, rumors began circulating that the Alien: Romulus sequel would feature a de-aged Sigourney Weaver to reprise the Ellen Ripley character and that the script included a crossover with Predator!
Since those rumors surfaced, Fede Alvarez squashed the de-aged Ripley rumor, but has yet to dispell the rumors of the movie being a secret Alien vs. Predator crossover, which begs the inevitable question - is that rumor true?
Fede Alvarez has expressed interest in directing an Alien vs. Predator reboot and we know the big wigs at 20th Century Studios and Disney are very interested in the idea after Prey and Romulus' success.
Last we heard about the Alien: Romulus sequel, was that Fede planned to take the franchise into uncharted territory.
As production continues, we'll keep you updated with the latest details!
