Well it would be interesting to see some of the Earlier Drafts, by Crossing i assume you mean were we left off at the END of Prometheus...
I think we can only Speculate what his Draft involved.
All that seems Certain is that David and Dr Shaw at some point END up on a World Connected to the Engineers, where they discover these beings are NOT Benevolent (do they meet any?) These beings are NOT Gods... Dr Shaw still wants her Answers.... WHY was we Created, WHY did the Engineers Want to Destroy/Abandon us? and WHO Created them.
What we further know is that Dr Shaw would eventually have to Put David back together, knowing the Risk, but he Persuades her and ONCE his Head Goes back on.. he is DANGEROUS... (and so Potentially could do what ever he wants... WHAT his Agenda is... is the Big Question).
Finally he is BRINGING HELL with him.... (Cargo) and what happens if this infects a God or Machine!
Thats the Nuts and Bolts of it all... HOW they explored that is the Question.... and raises the Problems they Faced...
*Would a Movie about David and Dr Shaw be enough?
*How would they survive if FACED with a Species who are Not Benevolent?
Dr Shaw and David VS Thousands, Millions of Evil Technologically Advanced SOBS!
If we are to continue with a Non Benevolent Race... was RS referring to those LV-223 beings or the Engineers that David and Dr Shaw would find should they GO to the Engineers Home-world?
Then IF they discover such BEINGS... what kind of Interaction takes place? David having to roughly act as Translator?
ONE Human, ONE Android and a Number of Engineers were David has to Translate and we get Sub-Titles.. could be a Movie a lot of people would not be interested but the DIE-HARD Prometheus Fans..
So this was ONE Problem they Faced.... a Problem my Prometheus 3 idea (my Prometheus 2 was mainly Not set around Engineers or David/Dr Shaw). Had a clever way to address!
A way that would have NOT left them Forced to Introduce Humans from Earth! Thus bringing the Engineers Home-world closer to Home!
Nope my Place David and Dr Shaw arrived at was FAR FAR away!
Fascinating... nice find Nebula, thanks for posting! I'll give this game a try but I'm still unimpressed that it's an exclusively mobile title.
I still think its a Tough Cookie to decide what route to go with any Movie... i think regardless, a Majority are going to want Xenomorphs or Similar, they may be split on a Action Passed Movie or more of a Alien/Alien 3 Flick. I also then think Fans would be interested in Part in Queens, while some would want something NEW and a Majority would like to explore the Space Jockey Race and again some may want something more than the Engineers.
There is plenty of Potential without having to Re-hash anything or Re-boot, they just need a idea with some Imagination... i could THROW OUT a number for them ;)
As i have said before... we DONT KNOW what becomes of these places between Alien Covenant and ALIEN.

All could have remnants of either Xenomorph (or similar) Black Goo, and Engineers, include their Technology.
And with the Scope of Prometheus are such things limited to ONLY those 4 Scenarios and LV-426? But i doubt those who work on the Projects have any such imagination and so we would always come back to LV-426 and Ripley!

She cant risk letting anything slip just in case, any information she passed on is still going to form part the Plot for the sequel... EVEN at this Juncture were signs Do-Not look Good for a Continuation.
She seems to indicate that it was a interesting Story/Idea that has some interesting ideas about her Character.
I think the Disappointment with Alien Covenant and Disney Acquisition spells a potential END to any Plot that Does-Not Feature our Xenomorphs and is more Philosophical and about AI/Creation.
The Longer the Movie is in LIMBO the older Micheal Fassbender will become and so playing a 35 year old (looking) Android would become Harder to Pull Off.
I would also think the STIGMA that his Portrayal of David got and Alien Covenants Plot, combined with lets say if Ridley Scott gets Dropped for any Sequel... would surely make Fassbender Rule himself out too!
The Prequels NEED Closure....
By that we need to know WHAT becomes of the Covenant Ship, Planet 4 and Origae-6 and David and his Xenomorphs..
Even if they decide to keep ALIEN Build Up a Mystery... they need to leave a Open Ended Closure to the Prequels.. or One that Certainly Casts Doubt on Davids Xenomorphs being those on the Derelict.
Sadly the Best Route is to give us a AFTERMATH Prequel, much like Alien Covenant is a AFTERMATH to Dr Shaw and Davids Adventure. So a Movie that is set AFTER what ever the sequel to Alien Covenant was going to be.
Well, well, well.my, my, my. I have to slap everybody. It's the ONLY way to wake up everybody from the criosleep induced by the matrix (i'm being creative, so back off). First, fox should publish a book, publish the alien awakening script, either One, to connect alien covenant to alien 1979 (it should be a good way to celebrate 40 years of space claustrophobic terror). Second, make a fresh new alien movie without regards to the timeline, a movie that Will survive trough time, by it's own. Prometheus was amazing, by it's originality. Alien covenant seemed an attempt by Ridley Scott to make an improved alien's 1979.
Trilogies are made ONLY to make Money. Any alien movie of Ridley Scott can be watched, without knowing the story of each movie. I think he planned the things This way and that's the main reason to cut off the prologue with doctor Elizabeth Shaw fixing david from the alien covenant movie.

Even though she may be unaware of what Changes could be made, she would not speak about what she heard about IN-CASE they are still using those ideas.
Such as if she said "well one interesting thing was David leaves me stranded on the Planet and i have to repair Walter and we are stranded until the Engineers arrive"
Or "David keeps me prisoner and uses my Egg Cells to Produce more Alien Eggs and then he wishes to Evolve her and she, manages to Persuade David that she would accept this and he lets his guard down and i escape"
Those are examples... so if they was correct she would not mention them just IN-CASE they will still remain part of any Plot when Shooting gets under way..
Even though its in LIMBO... i dont think she would SPILL beans until RS comes out and says he wont be involved in another Alien Movie and the Plot for Alien Awakening has been totally scrapped.
I think trying to Ponder what kind of Information Miss Waterston knows about the sequel to Alien Covenant, we have to consider at what point had she Privy to any information, during Shooting, after Shooting had Finished, during the Promotion for Alien Covenant?
Because depending how much RS and other working on the Project had discussed where it would go next, and at which point Miss Waterson heard the last of anything... could have a bearing on what she knows.... Because ideas can Change from Shooting, Editing and Movie Release.
At the Basics... we know that Alien Covenant is going to lead us to the Back Door of ALIEN which Ridley Scott Claimed would require 2-3 more Movies. So if we consider that the Plot is INDEED that Davids Xenomorph Creations Eventually end up on the Derelict that lands on LV-426 which the Nostromo Crew then Investigate some 17 years after Daniels has been tucked up in Cryo-Sleep.
That kind of Time-Frame and 2-3 Movies is surely not going to be a simple Plot of Leave Planet 4 and head to LV-426 which are in the same Constellation.
We have the SET-UP that David is in Control of the Covenant Ship, and has informed (as Walter) the Covenant is proceeding to Origae-6 which will take it another 7 years 4 Months.
Tennessee would believe they have Finally overcome the Ordeal and when they awake, they will arrive at Origae-6, however we know that Daniels had discovered the True Identity of David and this sets up a interesting encounter and scenario because its a case of would Daniels Forget?
If Davids Plans are to TURN the Crew into Xenomorph Eggs, then it matters NOT for David what Daniels knows.. but can we expect such a simple PLOT?
So Potentially at the very least there is some interesting scenarios regarding what does David do with Daniels... if he wishes to CHARADE as Walter, how can he when Daniels is in the KNOW? And killing her off would make Tennessee Suspicious so ideally they would BOTH have to be killed off...
But you can sense some interest in Daniels from David, and i think he may keep her alive as a Play-Thing.. and when we look at other ELEMENTS from Clues left by David he had said he PLANNED to do to Daniels what he had done with Dr Shaw... and i dont think this means we would just see her Turn up in the Next Movie has a Corpse..
We also know he has just TWO Face Hugger Embryos, and its indicated that eventually Davids Xenomorphs will END-UP on LV-426 on the Derelict at the closure of the Prequels. Or so it is inferred this would be the case.
But at this point who knew were the Sequel would have gone.... Its only the Advent Viral and Ridley Scotts comments after the Launch of Alien Covenant that maybe shed some light.
David has sent the company information on what he has been doing, and revealed himself, so they are in the KNOW and surely would Investigate but WHERE TOO? David also said he need to Perfect his Queen which means he has to find a better way to Mass-Produce his Xenomorphs?
But Ridley Scotts comments suggest the NEXT Movie would NOT be about Xenomorphs but more about AI (he had also suggested that AI is not solely Mechanical, by suggesting the Replicants are AI) This does-not mean we wont have Xenomorphs... but with 1-2 more Movies Planned after the Alien Covenant Sequel there was plenty of Screen Time to explore the Xenomorphs in future movies.
Ridley Scott confirmed they are going to the Planet, and what kind of a World would David build... again some think this is LV-426 or LV-223 but then bare in mind the next movie is NOT about the Xenomorph and we have 1-2 more after before we arrive at the back door to ALIEN.
He also then claims that there would be 3-4 incoming parties.. likely in the 3rd Act, and that the Engineers are ONE of these after they arrive back at Planet 4 and Discover the Genocide that David has committed and would be looking for the Culprit.
I am drawn to that some of the Plot may have quite a bit in common with his Raised by Wolves TV Series.. as i mentioned in my Topic Alien: Exodus
According to John Austin, the game's mechanic was inspired by one scene from Alien: Covenant.

I'd like to see one more movie to wrap up this story arc. I'd like to believe with the uniqueness of the Alien universe Disney would like to try something besides games to make some money. Although games would be a way of gauging interest I hope Disney does more than just games.

It also sounds like she is not allowed to say anything beyond what she said lest she suffer lawyers' wrath. I suppose the same could be said for Fassbender and McBride.

So there really is nothing new; however, it is good to see interviews being conducted. It shows that there is still interest.
I got three take aways: Waterston hasn't heard anything new, sounds like she is incognito on this forum, and is under a gag order anyway :D
A reboot might not be such a bad idea. I just don't think it should be in theaters. Take everything that works and is great about the franchise and keep it while ditching the baggage of the time line issues and such.

It sounds like Jack Paglen's draft at least started out with The Crossing. In hindsight, maybe it would have been better to continue with his draft.

I just bought and downloaded the first 3 episodes. As much I would like a physical copy, the shipping cost and wait to have it shipped to Australia isn't worth it for me.
I agree the first 2 do move very fast, difficult to keep up at times. But I do remember reading the full screenplay years ago and from memory there is ALOT to cover once the Xeno's inevitable outbreak....I'll save the spoilers but there are some large twists being foreshadowed in #2 ;)
In Hindsight a Prequel was always going to be Problematic... because NO Matter what Direction you take that reveals WHO the Space Jockey was and WHERE the Xenomorphs came from... you are NEVER going to please EVERY FAN... sometimes a Mystery is best kept as such, were we can indulge our individual ideas.... but when anyone FINALLY uncovers these Mysteries they may find it hard to give us something thats a Good as our Imaginations.
This Especially could be said about the Engineers Plot... but i understand WHY this route was taken, which i have explained before and so wont take up a lot of Space giving MY TWO Cents on it. Then we had the David Created it Plot which again i can understand WHY they had chose this route.
Things Change as they go along... and indeed at the Time of Prometheus and just after, the Xenomorph Eggs were on the Derelict Thousands of Years ago and NOT created by David. I will say HOWEVER... there are NO 100% Clues to suggest the Xenomorph was depicted in the MURAL it was kept a bit vague... but it was to represent the Deacon.
The case of doing a ALIEN movie was also going to be Tricky... if we never had the Prequels but they gave us a ALIEN Movie, then Fans would be wondering WHY it doe-not continue the Ripley Saga.... or have connections to her!
Doing a REBOOT! would be a BUST to a degree..
How do we do a Reboot? Does it follow the Same Plot... a Company Ship is sent to a ALIEN World after detecting a Signal and they investigate and get infected with Xenomorph Eggs.... Doing a COPY of ALIEN would not be ideal, but then doing a REBOOT where certain aspects are Changed, may affect the Original Franchise.
Does a Reboot Change were the Eggs are found? so they are found in a Temple or in a Egg Silo? Do they change the Protagonist to a Male? Do we get the Egg Morph? Do we get the Xenomorphs shown to be the remnants of a Intelligent Species like in Star Beast?
All of the ABOVE can be covered in a ALIEN movie that does-not have to Reboot anything!
Its pretty open to where else those Engineers could have experimented on similar things that they did on LV-223, its open to what other worlds they may have deployed or attempted to deploy the Bio-Weapon..
So i dont think any Reboots are Necessary!
I think a Reboot would be a bad idea.... Certainly a lot of inconsistencies arise because people working on Next Installments dont seem to consider how any ideas they propose could cause some in-continuity errors. But certainly such things do allow for us to Discus them because we dont have a Consistent Spoon Fed Explanations.
Alien Covenant seems to open up some ways to explain the Eggs on the Sulaco....
1) The Movie showed us SMALLER versions of the Eggs, so a Queen could have been Producing some Smaller Eggs, that was in the Process of moving into the Egg Sac to Grow and then be Laid... so she could have had inside her a few Smaller Eggs and Stuck them on the Ship where they Grew!
2) The Movie and Comments by RS, does seem to indicate that AI could be playing a Larger Role... and so the Sulaco could have had a Hidden Sleeper Cell/Android or Bishop had a Special Order that he may not be aware off... a Order that is Activated and then he has no recollection of.. so similar to the Manchurian Candidate or The Montauk Project
Certainly i agree with what I Raptus had put... on ICE as in kept Genetic Samples Frozen.
This seems to indicate to me that even as of NOW there is no updates on any sequel to Alien Covenant, but it appears that Katherine Waterston was likely to have had some role to play, makes sense because a second movie in a row where the Female Protagonist is killed off/plays no part leaving only David as the Surviving Cast Member may not be a wise move!
It seems she is aware of some of the Plot as of the time during the weeks following Covenants Release. She did indicate way back then that she heard Rumors (means she had i idea of some parts of where they was taking the sequel) but then she also said or she could wind up in a Body Bag.... which to indicates she is aware things are subject to Change!
I think we can assume this may be in reference to what happened to Noomi Rapace, as in a Movie may END and set up a Plot to follow that would continue with the Actress but that things could just as easy change and they have NO role to play at all.... Certainly its unlikely that within the 6-12 months after Prometheus that Dr Shaws role would have been so little.
What i noticed from some of these Articles is they speculate again that Alien Awakening was going to be about David rocking up to LV-426 and then Engineers turn up for a Good Old Fashioned Slug Fest!
I have always been drawn to this being only SET-UP in the next movie, so that any such Slug Fest would be in TWO Movies time.
I cant help but think Ridley Scotts TV Series Raised by Wolves may have a number of Elements he wished to explore in the ON ICE Sequel.

What I read from that is Waterston finds what she knows about the plot for the sequel interesting enough to be more than happy to be involved. Maybe this suggests that Daniels character may be significantly involved in the sequel and not just butchered like Shaw.
But then Im sure the intention after Prometheus was that Noomi Rapace would have a more significant role too....

It's one of those lines of dialogue that passes you by until you actually stop and question it.
I had a look around, and Scifi.stackexchange forum had a discussion on how they cloned ripley that appear to have the answer.
Just past some interesting points about the 2 paths of cloning they Auriga team used to get the clones is a comment that in the novelisation for Resurrection is apparently a line stating
"the film's official novelisation offers some additional detail. Her blood and various tissue samples had been kept on ice in the Fiorina infirmary when she had her initial physical (after being found in the escape pod). Those samples were cultivated and found to contain Xenomorph DNA along with Ripley's own. "
