The bio-engineering and parasite aspects of the Alien franchise are so uniquely Alien that I think that needs to be the focus no robots.

I watched Bob Iger this morning on Bloomberg and my impression from what he said was that the content from 20th Century Fox studios will be expanded with accelerated delivery via Disney's own streaming service. Good news. There are others that have speculated on this but it was nice to hear it from Disney's CEO this morning.

Bigdave I totally agree. I'm beginning to think Disney is the only thing that can save Alien from RS' senility. Imagine a slick, dark return to Giger with much more mystery and foreign landscapes instead of every movie being filmed in Iceland with robots? 

I agree Sherris. They should be used as a platform to totally expand the Alien universe for a much more large scale and diverse (Disney's favorite word), universe for future movies.  

I agree, IRaptus. Disney did a decent job with Star Wars. To let the entire cast die at the end of ST:RO was a bold one for a Disney movie. It further seems that D "cares" bout canon consistency within it's franchises. Something the Alienverse didnt have in abundance recently.

I think the book is an awful money grab. Boring as hell. 

I agree Bigdave. If they go with finishing RS work to Alien, would he still direct or is he out in the cold? 

Perhaps killing off the Engineers keeps continuity but then that begs the question:  Why bring them into play. Maybe the pilots chair should of been addressed earlier like RS suggested.

Personally, i hope this next one goes ahead and we find they are still Engineers and other races in the franchise. opens up things nicely, just the way they were at the end of Prometheus

To my knowledge, The Engineers did not exist in any form before Prometheus was made. They were not in any of the films as they did not exist in any way.

Then the PREQUEL decided who or what was in the Elephantine suits. Then we have a new being in the franchise. I think Alien, Aliens and even A3 can still get away without mentioning them but by the time you get to the year which A:Res is taken place surely there is some questions ?

BD - Now there has to be a reason for this book other than ADF wanted a 2 book deal - so BigDave i agree it could be to plant a few seeds to reinforce the story later. Being that there would of been a thousand more interesting ideas thrown around than what we have, So maybe you on point with the whole idea that a group of people would sabotage the mission as they believe it could lead to visitation. Then this point plants a seed for an invasion in the Alien franchise. 

I would like to speculate that this race is not the Engineers or Xeno, it could be the new "exciting" player that comes into the game.  Reports a few weeks/months ago suggested FOX might mix things up but i forgot the exact quote.

I liked you idea in last message. This is what a franchise needs. This allows to continue the story about Aliens in the future. Maybe with new main hero - adult Newt (Blomkamp's idea).

The age problem can easily be solved with CGI, but it would not make for something interesting though.

I think it is hard to do a Alien 5 if we consider Alien 3 and Alien R as Canon, not if it replaces them... the only way is a Cryo-sleep Nightmare...  But i think what Blomkamp was doing was to offer a ALTERNATIVE

So we have Alien, Aliens and then we go to Alien 3 and Alien R but Blomkamp was to offer us, a WHAT IF a WHAT IF the ending of Aliens that joins Alien 3 was different like a alternative path, so Fans can treat them as two alternative Histories that follow Aliens.

The only way Blomkamps Alien 5 would have worked if it went this route would be to get the MOVIE done ASP and set it 25-30 years after ALIENS Miss Weaver and Mr Biehn are not getting younger, and while Miss Weaver does not look quite as old as she is, and Biehn we can hide his age via his Face Burn, Miss Weaver is 69 and Biehn is 62 and so its going to be hard to Fool anyone that they are playing people less than in their 50's and so Blomkamps ALIEN 5  has to be set after the year 2204 and each year the movie does not get made we have to move the Timeline forwards.  Because i think they could pull off Age thats 20 years younger maybe 25 at a push.

I have a great idea - retcon with erasing Alien3-4. This will be fair.

Or, if you don't want to erasing a trash - make Alien3-4 a cryosleep nightmare with "legends series" status. This will be fair too.

P.S. You said that I was rude. Well, this is true. Because I hate this idea (prequel to Alien3) so much. This is worst idea EVER. I thought about it in 2015 (with rumors about Alien5) and i UNDERSTAND - if this idea will be released - it wll be another desecration of Aliens. Nothing more. In addition (it's personal) - I hate stories in which we are shown favorite characters, but we already know that they will die (in next hated movie).

I heard that pacing stuff from RS about Alien with the egg morph scene. It didn't bother me at all. I would really like to see everything in both Prometheus and AC- especially AC.

I would say these were shot after most of the movie had been, i think due to the amount of Sub-Plots that the movie had and a running time, it was not possible to fully explain what David had been up to and so these videos are a extension a extra content to give some insight to what Davids activities where.

Putting them into the movie would maybe affected the passing, yet they offer some insight, if these are to be considered Canon, then they do open up what will be explored in future, we can only hope that David Narrates some of this stuff in the next movie.

These videos do open up a few possibilities for sure, for Plot Devices/Elements either in the next movie or Plots that would have happened that we may by-pass,  These could affect what becomes of Daniels and Where the Company Sends its Ships..

I don't know if they can make an extended cut with the extras. They were meant to be extras and also are by different directors.

I had a few years ago began work on both a Prometheus sequel which sets up a Prometheus 3 but abandoned them and i also worked on a re-work of Prometheus which i also abandoned...

I am thinking of taking my one Idea the one about the Volcano Hidden Derelict Ship which i was pondering ALIEN ASCENSION as the Title...    I am considering taking this Title but using it to begin work on a Alien Covenant Sequel... because i am not sure Alien Awakening works... this is more a Title suited to a 3rd movie that Directly ties to ALIEN

I have some ideas for the Covenant Sequel that i feel are not to-far off what we could see and i will latter (as im off to bed now) work on the First opening Prologue to this AC sequel..

I will kick start it by mentioning the very first moments...

Your idea is the most horrible, which I heard. To make a movie with fans favorite characters and know that they will still die? Will once again fight for their lives and still die? No! NEVER! That a nonsense! Even fanfiction don't use this abominable plot.

You should know, what Alien3 is the worst movie in the franchise. It is not only my thoughts. This was a first movie, which separate the alien community. The millions fans hate this movie. And 20th Century Fox hate this movie. This not a part of mythical "alien trilogy".

Alien3 must be retconed. Don't justify the garbage.

P.S. Aliens and Alien3 place in 2179 year. The time interval between them is only 2 weeks. The egg (1 egg and 2 facehuggers, don't forget) is just a magic. Nothing more. And Alien3-4 is just a cryosleep nightmare.

I wonder if Disney could make an extended cut happen. It seems they would own the rights to do so if the acquisition happens.

I explored the possibilities of this in my ALIEN 5 Resurrect or Purge Topic this was prior to the Disney Take over News and i think Disney could be looking at what the FANS want instead of what Ridley Scott wants, which could be Good News for those wanting a ALIEN 5

The thing with Disney is they have more $$$$$ than FOX and so while SLIM they could be prepared to go about Producing another Alien Prequel as well as a Alien Franchise Sequel at the same/similar time, so we get Back to Back Alien movies as far as being a year or so apart... But this is still Slim...

I think Disney will follow through on finishing the Prequels... the Question now is do they make a Direct Prequel to ALIEN by-passing most of the Plans in the Time-line from NOW (AC) in the year 2104 and the year 2122 for ALIEN, it appears we would need TWO movies but then its if Disney Decide to By-Pass One of those.

The Franchise has a missing Movie/Event from Prometheus and this is covering the Time Between the end of Prometheus and the Start of Alien Covenant, the Crossing Prologue gave a tiny insight to this but Alien Covenant was basically a Movie that Skipped past those Events.

Its a bit of a drawn out time of events and limited between the end of AC and Alien, and i think the plans would be to pretty much By-Pass much of what David does from now on until they arrive at Origae-6 and so the plan would likely be to base the movie at a time after they arrive on Origae-6 but we still need One More movie at least to cover the events of after this  to getting to HOW/WHEN/WHY the Derelict Ship ends up on LV-426.

The Question now is would Disney just By-pass the events of the Next Planned movie to bring about a Direct Alien Prequel?

Would Disney even ignore the Prequels and then Reboot them?

I think Disney will look at the most successful Alien Movies, which are ALIEN and ALIENS and they would attempt to do them justice, while also having some Respect for Ridley Scott and his plans... but i think they would ULTIMATELY look at what they feel the Majority of Fans Want

We also have to consider what the Chief Execs at Disney who will be in charge of the Franchise think, could they want to put their own IDEAS into the Franchise? who knows..

I think there is more chance of ALIEN 5 at least as far as some of those ideas and a actual Alien 5 movie, but this does not mean it will be directly Blomkamps entire idea, i am not sure Disney will want to remove Alien 3 and Alien R as Canon.... but i think they would consider bringing Ripley back... and Queens and Eggs

But i cant see them abandon the Prequels... they will want to Answer those Events that lead up to ALIEN its a case of will we get RS plans?  I think Disney will look at what they feel the Fans want and so this could effect the impact DAVID has in the Franchise.

I think someone posted a fan made cut off the blue ray but I have no idea where it is. I am pretty sure it would be somewhere on YT.

I am sure at some point we shall see a few Fan-Made Cuts, but these have to be careful what they add, so that it does not effect the intended Plot or pacing... some scenes would easily fit well though.

I have yet to read it, but it only has a dream of Xenomorph like Creatures but then they could be something different and not Xenomorphs...

Mainly the Book is about the Covenant Mission prior to departure and how a group of people want to sabotage the Mission, because they feel Mankind Sending out Missions to other Star Systems could Attract interest from other ALIEN Species and end up with them coming to Earth...  So the point is, if we start to explore deep space and awaken or come across a Alien Race, what if they are not Benevolent, and then come to Earth.

So this group attempt to Sabotage the Covenant Mission in a number of ways.

As far as i am aware it does not cover much about the Company or its Origins, and it mainly features Lope and Rosenthal as they prevent those wishing to sabotage the Covenant Mission from doing so.

This book has to have been collaborated with RS and FOX and i feel it sets some seeds for where the next movie will take us. which i planned to debate in another post before, but i never got round to it...

Basically the Hubris of the Engineers in Prometheus was they was right to want to Destroy Mankind, because had they succeeded then we would never have got to LV-223 or Created David and the Destruction that follows... this is the Good Reason the Engineers wanted to Destroy us... they Feared this could happen.

And so i feel the Hubris well fears of the Saboteurs in the Origins Novel will Eco back in RS Plans for the Franchise his 6 Movie, War of the Worlds which cant really work unless ALIEN 3 on wards or maybe even ALIENS are taken from Canon. This being that Mankinds Exploration of the Covenant Ship had led to them stopping off to that Signal and then going to find David..... and even prior to that, even with the Prometheus mission, these events all lead to the Engineers Returning to discover what happened on Planet 4 and if they was not aware of Mankind, or what level of Technology we could reach once they abandoned us... they surely KNOW NOW and they would either now Realize they Should have Destroyed us... OR that they HAVE to DESTROY US so i think it sets up that eventually indeed those who was against the Covenant Mission and indeed Mankinds Persuit of Exploring Deep Space for the Fear of Attracting Alien Races... could well have their Fears Confirmed.

When talking about the Plot Holes the Prequels open i mean the Notion and Knowledge of Engineers, LV-223, Origae-6 and Planet 4 and how in the Original Franchise it appears we was not aware of any of these things.. because they was not created yet as far as in the Story, but the Prequels open these to be Canon.

And so Big Questions are what happened to these things, and WHY pursue the Xenomorph on LV-426 all the way to Ripley, i would like to think a Future movie would have to explore why these things do not appear in other ALIEN movies.

One potential which also could take into account what the Company know, their Agenda and AI could be that who knows if RS had plans to do his prequels... and who knows after if he would Ret-Con the Sequels to ALIEN like Blomkamps Alien 5 a would have done with Alien 3 and Alien R, and so who knows if RS would have wanted to Replace ALIENS with his own Sequel... which then leaves the Plot Holes about the Engineers and where they are/have been and what Technology/Bio-Weapons are left behind.

Agree. It has to be profitable and focus on what made it great in the first place- The Alien. Also, it is not a Ripley story. The beast is not cooked but Ripley is done as painful it is to say.

Even though it came out within a few years of Alien, I am not sure comparing it to SW makes sense. Alien was a really dark movie while SW was more of a feel good adventure film. Obviously, that appealed to the masses. In the bigger scheme of things, who wants to go to watch a movie about death and losing (at least back then)? Over the decades, the numbers seem to point out that the subject matter of the Alien franchise and many darker sci fi movies don't appeal to the masses.

I am cautiously optimistic what Disney will do. I think they would stay within Alien/Aliens since they seemed the most successful in general.

I maintain there is much lore to tap in the franchise via mini series ala Netflix, Hulu etc. 

I had been working on the idea a few years ago about 4 Alien Movies only ONE had anything like the Traditional Xenomorphs in it, but this movie idea would be something not to dissimilar to what David could do if he attempts to Create more Xenomorphs on the Covenant and it back fires... so i never worked much on this idea.

The other idea was about the Black Goo and a Outbreak which would not have been to far off a Cross between the THING meets what David was doing on those Engineers, and so this is also one i had down to explore at a latter date.

The main TWO ideas i decided to flesh out a bit more however was a Parallel Plot to ALIEN and a Parallel Plot to ALIEN RESURRECTION,  The First One would have been about a distant Mining Expedition on a distant Moon where they had reached the site of a Volcano and could not Mine past some of the Rock, so additional equipment had to be sent in...  A Ship arrives with a New Drill and it manages to cut through this New kind of Rock and Reveals a Cave Complex, then part of the crew discover some like Cocoons hanging from the ceilings, then we see one of them gets Face Hugged, we get a different kind of Xenomorph.  We then see them go to Destroy those Spores/Cocoons but they uncover after blowing up the Cave another Cave System and they walk along and discover a Dead Engineer, Chest Busted, they then find a Engineer Ship and explore it and they activate the Ship which awakens a Engineer, while we discover another crew member also suffers a Chest Buster.   We would see this Alien taken care of by the Engineer, but then of the TWO Engineers one of them was infected and he has a Chest Buster....  The crew have to try and escape the Engineer  while he has concerns about the other Engineer Chest Burster.    The Climax of the movie we see the Engineer killed after he sets of a signal and uses some device to attempt to destroy the Cavenous Rock that had encased his Ship on that World.. The Humans Blow up the Entrance near the Ship which causes a Volcano to cover the Engineers Ship.   

This story i had a large Synopsis and a few parts i had alternative ways to deal with certain Plot Points but i just never got round to evolving it....  The IDEA was to tease maybe the first Xenomorphic Organism they obtained had originated from this place and was taken to LV-223 but one ship that remained on this other World Got Buried when a Volcano had gone off Thousands of years prior.  The Xenomorphs in this story were to be similar to the Dan O'Bannon design and the Fresco in Prometheus.

The other STORY i had was based around Alien Resurrection, where the Failed Ripley 7 Queen was sent to another Outpost just prior to the arrival of the Betty and also as well as a Clone Queen 7 there was a sample of Ripley 8 Blood sent too.

The Outpost near Saturn was a place the Company had been conducting Genetic Experiments to Evolve Humans and Create Super Soldiers thinking that Super Humans would be more useful than Androids due to the problems and rebellions seen by them.  And hence Wars that left Earth in ruins.   The Scientist attempt to clone the Failed Queen 7 and i was pondering they either created a living Queen 7, or the Queen 7 was alive or that they created Eggs/Xenomorphs from the Queen 7

But these Organisms were more Human than Xenomorph and actually looked like the Failed Ripley 5 clone, the idea i had looked not to far from what the Neomorph does, because well i was looking at something like a cross between Ripley 5 Clone and the Alternative New-Born Designs, and these had 3 Digits and not 6, i was thinking of different ways or Procreation where these Xenomorphs infected the Host with like a Virus that Mutated them into beings similar to Ripley 3 Clone/Baby Head Concepts..... but when this infection is with a Female, they would Produce a new kind of Face Hugger inside..  So this Plot had 3-4 different Xenomorph type Organisms...  and it was a Xeno Type vs Clone Super Humans, but the company use Ripley 8 DNA to Perfect the Perfect Clone Super Human and this defeats the Xeno threat.

This Story would have been open for the Ripley 8 DNA Clone to be Ripley in appearance but also to appear as either a Male or Female, so if it came to be a Movie it would not have needed Miss Weaver

I wonder however what will happen to Foxbender... will he become Disneybender now or will he also sidelined? Will they recast the X-men? Will they make a sequel to Ass assin's Creed?

On the other hand, if they threat this series like X-men and Star Wars we can say goodbye to new and original stuff and say hello to rethreads and hidden remakes (as Logan is a blatant remake of Shane with mutants). They will surely be fine to watch once on HBO or Netflix or their new streaming service, but that's that. RIP originality.

I think its a case of what was RS plans.. and how will Disney effect this.

The Franchise now as a number of Loop/Plot Holes that have opened up with the Prequels... in Alien it was simple...

We had  a Planet/Moon LV-426 that had some Alien Space Ship that had seemingly crashed after its Pilot become infected with its Deadly Cargo, Que ALIEN and then we see the company years latter set up a Colony on LV-426 which they lost contact with Que ALIENS, we then see that Hadleys Hope is Destroyed and it appears they followed the route that this Destroys the Derelict, leaving the only means to get a Xenomorph is via Impregnated Ripley Que ALIEN 3 which at the end we see Ripley Sacrifices herself to kill the Xenomorph Queen so that the company can not obtain a XENOMORPH...  Hundreds of years latter a Company attempts to gain the Xenomorph from Cloning Ripley Que ALIEN RESURECTION

If we continued with a ALIEN 5 instead of doing any prequels... then Logically it would have came down to what remains of Xenomorph DNA after the USM Auriga crashes to Earth.... did any Xenomorphs Survive? Could they Clone the DNA from any samples?  Or can they reverse Engineer the DNA taken from Ripley 8

The Problem here is would just having a Ripley 8 vs Xenomorphs work? How many times can you revolve around the Xenomorph and Ripley? Before it Gets Stale?

The Amanda Story is something interesting, a Film Adaption could work if we go a Sequel to the Game route, but then doing so would RAISE some Serious Questions to why the Company Pursue only Ripley in Alien 3 as the only means to the Xenomorph..... if we go the Amanda Ripley movie route, at the end of it we have to show that there is NO-WAY  a Xenomorph could be obtained apart from via the Derelict.

While also a Movie like this would be interesting.... it depends how it handles the Xenomorph which was done so well in the Game, just as it was done so well in ALIEN and ALIEN 3, we cant introduce too many Xenomorphs and so handling the Xenomorph really is the BIG PROBLEM before it gets done too much that it becomes Stale.

I feel we need to get to ALIEN and regardless of what RS says, i think we need TWO movies to get to ALIEN considering the Events AC has set down... and these movies have to have Xenomorphs, but they also need to handle them very well.... 

AFTER THIS... i think we need to explore something different..... otherwise too much Traditional Xenomorph could just OVERCOOK the Beast.

This is why Ridley Scotts one interview was interesting.... he claimed IT has to be about HIM (Xenomorph) you cant wonder off, you have to keep it about ONE Thread... HIM but Ridley Scott did say you can Evolve HIM and there could be Many of HIM and if we look what this could mean, then i think RS is saying the whole Concept of the ALIEN does not have to be about just the Traditional Xenomorph...  you can Evolve him and we have seen many Evolutionary Connections to the Xenomorph in Prometheus and Alien Covenant The Black Goo being the Blue-Print but where did this come from?

And so when we talk about MANY of HIM and looking how RS feels and mentioned in the same Interview the Beast Was cooked.... RS could be hinting towards exploring DIFFERENT forms of the Xenomorph. This is not something NEW as ALIEN: Engineers was to explore how the Engineers had created 7 Different Xenomorph Species, all appear to be related to something else growing in the Caves.

And so i think this is where we need to be looking, at different forms of Xenomorph.

I think Disney will in time explore the FOX Sci-Fi Franchises this i think is a certain, when they are acquiring the rights they will be acquiring the rights to these Franchises too.  Disney had purchased part of the Marvel Franchise in 2009 (Marvel Entertainment)  were they had agreements to make Marvel Movies with 20th Century Fox (X-Men Primarily) but the other Marvel Movies (Marvel Studios) such as Iron Man and Avengers etc are already part of Disney.

So Disney has these Comic Book Franchises it has utilized and now it looks like it will have all Marvel Franchise Rights with the acquisition of 20th Century FOX (X-Men/Fantastic 4) and we know Disney has Purchased the Star Wars Franchise too.

Star Wars is a Sci-Fi Genre but its also a Action one too, but its different in a way to the Comic Book Marvel Film Adaptions...   Disney has other Movie Companies and Franchises too, and will gain more when it completes a take over of 20th Century FOX

HOWEVER....

The ALIEN and PREDATOR Franchises are different to the Marvel and Star Wars ones, they cater for a different Audience and Age Group, I dont think Disney would try and make these Franchises become something similar to the Super Hero Comic Book Franchises, or the Star Wars especially the New Trilogy kind of movies.

ALIEN and PREDATOR reach out to a different Audience than those, and i dont think Disney will try and make these Franchises more Kiddy Friendly, they NEED something a bit DIFFERENT something more ADULT

So the ALIEN and PREDATOR Franchises offer Disney something different to put out there, these Franchises are different to the Marvel Movies and Star Wars and i cant see Disney trying to make them appear similar or appeal to the similar Fanbase.

ULTIMATELY....  This means Disney WILL explore and expand both the ALIEN and PREDATOR Franchises, i think this is for certain, HOWEVER we cant be sure when they will EXPAND upon these Franchises, i think Disney will see how the New PREDATOR Movie Performs and then see how this movie does compared to those before it... they will then assess the Predator Franchise based on how the New Movie does.

When it comes to ALIEN i think they know how HUGE a Hit ALIEN and ALIENS were something just Worked with those movies, that after Alien 3 just seemed to loose its Shine... Alien Resurrection not going down too well.

Ridley Scott's attempt at a Franchise Prequels where he attempted something different with PROMETHEUS did not go down to well with some Critics, yet it Financially was a Success, But to many ALIEN Franchise Fans it was just not really enough of a ALIEN movie, hence we got ALIEN: Covenant and this movie did not become a Commercial Success, not as much as they expected and while RS may feel the Reintroduction of the Xenomorph is one reason for the down-fall, and he wishes to explore some themes he wanted to do with the Prometheus 2 sequel....  and he wishes to explore AI more, i feel looking at the criticism aimed at Alien Covenant that for the majority its the Pursuit of AI and being about AI rather than the Xenomorph is the biggest gripe people seem to have for Alien Covenant.

And so i think with Disney taking ownership, they will be assessing what Fans want, its a case of will they do what RS wants, maybe not if they feel his direction is taking things to far away from the ALIEN feel. I think Disney will be looking to do what ever will MAKE MONEY but they also would be up for trying something a bit different too, which is what they have done with the New Stars Movies, they are not a direct like for like with the Original 3 movies of which the New Franchise is a continuation, while Star Wars was about Luke, Solo, Leigh and threw in Chewbacca C3PO and R2D2 the New Franchise is changing these things, as the BIGGER Picture within the Star Wars Franchise is the FORCE and thus the JEDI and the SITH but the movie also has to have Storm Troopers and the Similar.

And so i think when Disney look at the ALIEN Franchise they will look at what the Franchise really was about, and while some may think its about Ripley, it is not... Ripley is no more a part of ALIEN as Luke is with STAR WARS and its not about David, he is to ALIEN as maybe Vader is to Star Wars.

The Star Wars Franchise can Spit out movie after movie, but they will all revolve or should revolve around the FORCE but then you can have expanded Universe Movies, which can be close like Rogue One or Further from the events of Star Wars like the Han Solo movie that is being wrapped up.

so the ALIEN Franchise in this Context has to be about the ALIEN and i think it needs to look at the Roots... which is and will always be that Derelict Ship, the Space Jockey Pilot and the Xenomorph Eggs and while Prometheus tried to expand the Universe by Expanding the Space Jockey/Derelict as far as Engineers/Technology it did not do enough to show the Xenomorph

I think Disney will attempt to get things back on track, they will realize RS is trying something NEW and that the Prequels will be something NEW and address the events that lead up to ALIEN i think Disney will realize the Xenomorph Origins and how any prequels link to the EVENT in ALIEN that is the Derelict will be something they would likely still be interested in. But i think Disney will look at what they feel may have gone wrong since after Alien 3 and i think they will look at the BASICS of the Franchise.. like how STAR WARS was a saga about the FORCE i think Disney need to assess and see what the BASICS of the ALIEN Franchise is.

The ALIEN Franchise has its Ripley/David like how Star Wars has Luke/Anakin but while Star Wars is also about the FORCE, the JEDI and SITH they (Disney) need to look at what is the ALIEN universes Equivalent and i think for this they need to look at the Basics for RS first reasons for doing Prequels.  And so i think they need to look at what went so WRONG with the Exploration of the Space Jockey and continue with this but take it back to something more ALIEN, with Star Wars we have the FORCE which is split between the JEDI and SITH and we also have the Tale of the Empire (its rise/fall and rebirth) we also have the Tale of the Rebels but these things are only a smaller part much like in ALIEN we have the Weyland-Yutani Company, and so when we look at the Rise/Fall/Rebirth of the Galactic Empire/New Order we see something that every part of this rise and fall (well nearly) has featured the Clone/Storm Troopers...  No Star Wars Movie would seem a Legit Star Wars movie without Storm Troopers i am sure everyone will agree... imagine the New Trilogy with NO Storm Troopers or related Technology?  Exactly 

I think this is where the XENOMORPH has to fit with what ever plans for the Franchise DISNEY may have.

They are a Tool (which can come in various forms) that are used as a Weapon by different Factions throughout the History, we see in SW we had the Clone Troopers, which became the Storm Troopers which latter became the New Order Troopers..... in ALIEN we had this Alien Organism, which the WY Company wanted to obtain and control...  the Prequels set in order that the Engineers must have created this Bio-Weapon, with Alien Covenant they gave us a Curve-ball that David Created the Xenomorph but throughout we still have the Xenomorph DNA/Black goo that is created, re-created and then wishing to be obtained by Engineers, David and the Company.

So then all we need now is our The FORCE and for the ALIEN Franchise this has to be exploring the Creation Element behind the Engineers,  they created us or so it appears... the Engineers did not appear to please some, and especially how they are portrayed in AC and i feel they need to ADDRESS the Creation of the Engineers the Hierarchy, who came first Humans? Engineers? are the LV-223 and Planet 4 Engineers similar the same?

We need to look at which Creation came first, Planet 4 Engineers, LV-223 Engineers, Humans and WHO/WHAT is above them..... THIS would be the ALIEN Franchises THE FORCE and while the Force has the Jedi and Sith i think we need to address what Factions are at play above and beyond the ENGINEERS but to NOT FORGET that they cant at least for the next TWO movies delve to Far Away from the Xenomorph, this is the Storm Troopers of the Alien Franchise, they cant abandon how we get to those Eggs on the Derelict in ALIEN much like the Prequels had to show in Star Wars what lead to the Creation of the Empire and its Tools (Clone/Storm Troopers)

ONCE this is done and done right.... then the ALIEN Franchise can explore the Engineers in any kind of context they wish, that has nothing to do with Xenomorphs, for now they have to go the route to ALIEN and then REEL in the Fanbase to see the Bigger Picture of the Engineers and what ever History/Hierarchy is at play but something more ALIEN than those Planet 4 Engineers must come into play.

We can see Expanded Movies like how Star Wars has the Han Solo movie, and in the Alien Franchise this could be about the Company etc, i just feel right now they need to be very CAREFUL to not make it too much about the Company and AI, at the expense of the Engineers and the Forms of Bio-Weapon they created.

The gorilla morph is an interesting idea. It would make sense to use other primates as test subjects- for those who are patient....

There are many ways the series can go. I think a good way could be to avoid the theaters and go the mini series route. For instance, the Evil Dead/Army of Darkness birthed a way cool series called Ash vs Evil Dead. It kept the spirit of the movie while fleshing out the main character and introducing new ones.

here is another movie idea I had for the franchise taking place driectly after alien 3.

essentially weyland promised another huge company a xenomorph specimen but after ripley kills herself, they are left without them. weyland starts to lose some money and recives pressure from the other company to get the speciman for them so weyalnd tracks down a planet that they belive xenomorphs would be on(in this timeline, engineers created xenomorphs. david adapted them) and spicifcly to colllect an egg. they are pepared for the mission super fast and are then sent off. essentially, they get to the planet and set up a base that looks a bit like this then they start exploring. they discover a natural cave system. they find the xenomorph eggs and succsefuly freez one and take it back to the ship but as they are leaving, an earthquake strinkes creating a collapse in one of the tunnels trapping them. the face hugger eggs start to thaw as the crew trys to find a way out(they have imited oxygyn in there suits) both facehugges thaw out and latch on to people. ( the face huggers are the engineer bred ones so they look a bit different as well as the xenomorphs) as one trys to jump on someone an android gets in the way and it latches onto the android  instead eventually creating a mutated deformed androidmorph. the rest of what I have thought of is essentially navigating claustrophbic spaces with xenomorphs attaking like this. just a rough idea. i thought it would be a way to introduce a more natuall setting and some new types of xenos.

great ideas! I am not really sure how this would fit into the plot but I thought of a couple testing scenes were scientists get facehuggers onto gorrilas. gorrilas are stronger and faster than humans so it would be logical. also, the company would want to avoid getting complanits that they are murdering people. the gorrilamorph is a great creature that I think could work as the xenomorph threat.

that could also work.  the thing about ressurection for me is that it feels like a spinoff sinse it is so disconected. because of this no matter what happens, I feel like ressurection could always exist. A TV show of post alien ressurection would be awsome. would have to do some de aging stuff or cme up with some solution for winona rider and sigorny weaver being old though.

Interesting. I was thinking in a similar way. Basically, Amanda gets taken aboard as Isolation suggests. Then she becomes aware that an egg is aboard and being studied. She sees the writing on the wall and communicates it to the staff. The command and science staff think she is crazy and dismisses her words. Crew members believe her and start to rally. But they cannot access sections to circumvent the coming threat. They are soon seen as mutineers and it becomes an exercise of hunting them down as the experiments continue and all hell breaks loose. Eventually a couple scientists and command staff realize Amanda has first hand experience and request help. Amanda becomes the subject matter expert and it could totally go from there.
