Looks the same as what the rest of the crew are wearing to me. Compare it to what
Holloway & Shaw are wearing in the same shot. I'm pretty sure this is actually David from shots we have already seen, 4 of the Prometheus crew about to discover the amuple room.
ReplybunnypmfPrometheus ForumPrometheus LocationsFeb 22, 2012
You have Jordan, the Scottish Higlands and Iceland. Three areas that are still the same as they were thousands of years ago. Those three areas have the strongest myths (Biblical, Celtic and Norse) regarding giants who were fond of raping, pillaging and general nastiness. Perhaps the start of Prometheus will deal with giants being dropped off on Earth, maybe as exiled prisoners of the saucer people?

Great theories there! Love to see how Scott would depict the Giants ( only glimpses of Blue Humanoids so far..)

It's obvious that the sound is the same, just mixed with different music (Audiomachine). And yes, it's perfect, I'd be very satisfied if the movie had soundtrack like this.
ReplydbPrometheus ForumSomething InterestingFeb 22, 2012
Not just the sound, but the trailers themselves are cut similarly. (That is, after the looooooong egg on waffles in the beginning of "ALIEN").
ReplyRuthPrometheus ForumRidley Scott's next movie "The Counselor"Feb 22, 2012
I'd be very happy to see this movie if they made it. I loved Cormac McCarthy's "No Country for Old Men" and "The Road", this could be great too.
ReplySIMONbPrometheus ForumTHE COMPANY'S MOTIVESFeb 22, 2012
Hi all. First post here. So excited about this film.
I've been thinking about this a lot recently. I'm wondering if WY were even aware of the Xenomorphs at all, and instead have been searching for *whatever it is* that the creators have - the 'seeds', rather than the bio-weapon we have always assumed they were looking for. Obviously, this only holds up to the first film, and after that, they knew EXACTLY what they were getting into- but is it possible that WY were unaware of exactly what the Nostromo crew were going to find, or even thought they were going to retrieve something entirely different?
I have a theory that the seeds the creators are planting (if that is where we are going with this) are something like pure life-force, and the ones seeded on LV426 have been there for a hell of a long time, and have mutated/evolved into the eggs that Kanefinds. They started out as the metallic pods we see in the Prometheus trailer, and over time become the leathery eggs in Alien. It is these that WY were after, and they had no knowledge of the xenomorphs. Perhaps, in prometheus, WY learn of the location of the seeds planted by the creators, and the Nostromo is diverted to one of the sites they were told about.
Bring on the pointing out of holes in my theory!! I'm no expert, and as L.Watkins says, have no real wide knowledge of the Alien Universe.
I guess Prometheus will explain it.
ReplyGigerFacePrometheus ForumTHE COMPANY'S MOTIVESFeb 22, 2012
Isn't Walmart err Weyland pretty much aware of most things throughout all the Alien movies?! I think what will find out in Prometheus is just how much do they know and how their research was actually collated "wink".
ReplySpartacusPrometheus ForumTHE COMPANY'S MOTIVESFeb 22, 2012
for me it's way simpler. The company had a policy since inception that warrented it neccessary to place an Android Loyal first and ONLY to the company on every Space Bound mission. The Company found out about the XENO. The company decided it wanted that Xeno for it's BioMechanical Weapons division as Ripley herself stated at the end of "3". The Company will never ever stop, until it has aquired and modified it's new Xenomorph Based Terrafroming Weapon. Ever.

You make it look so easy. I'm actually working on an alien warrior and face hugger for a you tube vid, and tried the masking tape trick. I could NOT get it to do. That is just amazing--you are the man.
ReplydbPrometheus ForumSJ Costume Pt. 3...Feb 22, 2012
@Dewey70:
Did you roll the masking tape sticky side out? That way it sticks to whatever your base is long enough to cover it with more. (Or use a glue gun to tack it in place.)

ReplyDewey70Prometheus ForumSJ Costume Pt. 3...Feb 22, 2012
@db, I did, but I wasn't able to use a sturdy base (ie chicken wire). I figured that (plus the lack of experience) might be my prob? I really dug the appearance of veins and wrinkles you were able to achieve.

Thats AWESOME :D 92" inch thats a freaking MONSTER. I have a 55" inch LED Samsung TV with a blu ray player and surround sound and playing the Alien Anthology on that is GLORIOUS!! And I thought my TV was big hahaha. I just bought my tv less than a year ago. But JESUS 92" inches of unprecedented HIDEF power. You have the best set up bro!
ReplyZetaReticuliPrometheus Forum3D laptopFeb 22, 2012
Jealous is not the word here, lol. I have neither a blu-ray, the Anthology,
nor a TV that big to enjoy it on, but things will change this year. Fingers
and toes crossed.
Btw, Sony and just about all Japanese audio-visual is the BEST.

I'm still in shock xD 92" is nearly as big as my entire Fking wall in my room. Its twice as big as my 55" LED monster. I mean GOD that boy is living large. Its almost as though he has a true mini theater in his own living room. Haha he should send us pictures.
Here's a picture of it, compared to a 65" tv. LOL

Hot diggidy. You'd never have to go to the movies again.
ReplyGuyPrometheus Forum3D laptopFeb 22, 2012
I had the 92" television built into a wall in a downstairs spare bedroom.......
Yes, I don't have to go to the movies, I just wait for the blu-ray
Watching Avatar will knock your socks off, the battle scene detail of the inside of the attack ship is breathtaking, it's life like, your eyes will make you think that your actually inside the ship as it attacks the tree........Missiles away
Watching Alien Anthology on the 92" is like watching the movies for the very first time, there is so much detail you will be watching and watching and watching and still come away with something you missed the 100th time of watching
There are little things like the Nostromo, look at the crews seats, they are all beaten up and torn with the stuffing coming out
The sticky notes, coffe cups, and personal crew items that are around their computer terminals, all these items on a big screen just make it so real
Can someone tell me how to add a picture file so I can download some pictures to show you my set up?
ReplyRickPrometheus Forum3D laptopFeb 22, 2012
LOL Don't be hating. Once I get moved into my new house, I'm going el gigantic myself. $3500 isn't bad for that monster. Besides if your woman tells you size doesn't matter she's lying. :P
Reply1darkjediPrometheus ForumIntense violence in some of Scott's filmsFeb 22, 2012
Intense violence when it adds to the story would be ok if it showed how nasty mean the engineers can/would be. But just to have it in there just to see blood & guts or sex would be bad.....
ReplyZetaReticuliPrometheus ForumIntense violence in some of Scott's filmsFeb 22, 2012
My point exactly 1darkjedi. RS will not go for cheap-nasty. No way.
ReplyRizzlePrometheus ForumIntense violence in some of Scott's filmsFeb 22, 2012
I hope we get one or two scenes of blood and guts, or rather I hope we see some visceral death scenes. The kind that get under your skin, and lend the film a dose of realism. Those kinds of scenes, along with good character development are what pull you in to the film, and make you fear whats around the corner, in the next scene. That combination, makes you care for the characters, and makes the prospect of their demise at the hands of the aliens, all the more fearful.

I think u guys forgot the gladiator
and black hawk down where the
Violence is not overdone but
displayed in a realistic way, which
made the scences very powerful.
both movies are pg-13.
so it is not true that all
pg-13 movies would be only
for young teens.
ReplyGuestPrometheus ForumIntense violence in some of Scott's filmsFeb 22, 2012
i'm more of a fan of deep intrigue and the bizarre elements of a possible alien environment and culture than intense violence as it only serves as shock value if it comes out of the blue when least expected.
For me the word alien should represent the true meaning, in that your completely at a loss to understand the things you are witnessing, and experiencing. When you experience something unique for the first time your attention is completely held and you rack your brains on a subconscious level to try and associate the feeling with something you can identify with even if its on a basic comparison.
That's why the alien film sequels are less impactful because we have familiarised ourselves with the whole concept and over analysed the xenomorph concept.
What i hope this film achieves will be to restore the mystery and pose more questions then answers as well as showing us something entirely new and terrifying, and for me that's what will be revealed as perverse in the sense of the truely unusual.
I'm keeping my fingers crossed for a profound jaw dropping deep sc fi, that's philosophical, terrifying, emotional, moving ,and original.
Here's hoping ridley can do the triple and create yet another instant classic and if not a classic then at the very least a damn fine entertaining piece of cinema.
