??? you'd still have the same amount of Xenos if they did that cause your not changing a host into an Xeno...so 4 Xenos face hugged would still equal 4 Xenos....follow

Interesting concept. Though with evolution, usually when mixing the same gene pool over and over, you get negative results... instead of the obviously better/cooler super strengths lol. However, if we are going of a Aliens 4 idea... we know the Xenos dig the idea of sacrifice for the greater good (them killing one to spill acid on the floor so they can escape). So really the idea that they would sacrifice themselves to give new life isn't so far fetched. My bet is, they look for the most superior life form. Impregnate it or whatever, and then defeat it until they find the next best life form. The question remains though, which Xeno is the superior? The SJ Xeno, or the Human Xeno.... or the Predator Xeno which I hate to acknowledge in this lol.

To SSgt: I meant that they would be able to sustain the number of xenos, and seeing as there would allways be eggs being made, there is a better chance of queen eggs turning up, the more queens, the faster the colony grows. To chesty, what does a jockey xeno look like? We don't even know if any jockes got facehugged, as they're heavilly implied to have created the xenos, and would know their weaknesses. If they did exist however, they would DESTROY human xeno and probably still own PX.

We know the SJ gets face hugged, because in the original Alien, his "bones are bent outward, like he exploded from inside." That fact is used as forshadowing in Alien - It would sure cheapen the original film if that now became a form of misdirection. As much as we dont want to consider AVP (etc) as cannon, it would surprise me if Ridley was less than loyal to clues given in his own previous film. What say you all?

I can't see how the infant 'chest-burster' would survive coming out of a xeno, due to the acid for blood........

i think birth defects would be an issue lol possibly brake fluid for blood instead of acid lol

If it's the tall (guy) standing by the SJ chair as it spirals up out of the floor, in the trailer, then its a bug-eyed alien. I think he's activating the chair. Look closely at his eye's. They're not human. He looks like a stereotypical little green (grey?) man alien from the '50's only taller. He looks pretty buff in the trailer, so I'm wondering if that's Patrick Wilson. He gets into the unoccupied chair, which grows around him, and is later chest bursted. Just theorizing wildly again here...

Sorry to be negative but the more I think about the SJ outer form as being a mere suit, the more I think I will be dissapointed by this film and ultimately will wish that it had never been made. It just seems like such a cop out to me. The SJ scene in Alien is one of the best parts of the film; the idea that this bizarre and incredibly advanced lifeform has been dead for millions of years on a remote planet in the vast expanse of space always gave me a chill. It really did make me feel very small indeed. For this to be explained as a tall blue humanoid in a suite just doesn't seem right. I am hoping that the blue guy is seperate to the SJ but I suspect I will be dissapointed.

well suppose the sj is a suit then the implications can still provide a very good story and who knows whats up ridleys sleeve. As stated before he intends to show us something we have never seen before,.. now that could be the occupant in the suit or something entirely different and again he also stated he's locking all the best stuff away so i think a few surprises are in store and i have a sneaky feeling it will be a great film regardless.

I'm quite looking forward to the after event analysis on here to see what the general consensus of opinion will be after we have all seen the film. I doubt that all will be pleased but the debates will be interesting.

Yea I kinda agree... It could be like a warning, telling everyone "hey, someone is in the egg chamber! Help this guy or there will be a freakin alien infestation!" just a thought... I always did think it was some sort of motion detector or something like that.... Like I said, just a thought...

i also have the alien vault and love the original concept of how the eggs were found in a temple. like how in that shitty avp film the human race would use the eggs to sacrifice people but that idea could not happen due to lack of budget.

"The Jockey possesses an air both elegiac and hopeful - the universe might yet offer non-lethal contact. Quite why he was {And IS} considered "Benign" is hard to pinpoint yet everyone who saw him mourned his passing...a lost soul staring into his telescope at the unreacheable heavens forevermore" WOW...did that quote ever OPEN MY FRIKKIN EYES !!!

If you notice the numerous misspellings and typographical errors (fat fingering) in the original post, then it becomes obvious: this post was originated by a creature with incomplete knowledge of English and much larger hands and fingers then the average human bean. Additionally, the poster's badge, of the whimsical "Alien" from "SpaceBalls" is designed to give us a "warm-and-fuzzy"; to make us feel safe and happy at the prospect of encountering a Xenomorph. I believe that this post was written by a Space Jockey (possibly with Space Jockey-itch) in an attempt to lull us (humanity) into a dull sense of complacency, which has apparently been successful, too! Be vigilant fellow humans! The human crop is at it's greatest number of all time (7+ billion individuals) and the chefs are in the kitchen sharpening their knives and heating up the barbeque grills! Just because you're paranoid, it DOESN'T mean they're not out to get you! =8>O HERE IS WHAT HAS HAPPENDI DECIDED TO SWITCH PROVIDERS SO FOR THE TIME BEING I HAVE ONLY BEEN ABOE TO LOG ON FROM WORK...LAST WEEK, EACH TIME I MADE POSTS, THE INTIAL POST AND THEN WENT IN TO EDIT IT, THE EDITOR WOLD NOT WORK PROPERLY OR LET ANY SPELLING AND GRAMATICAL ERRORS BE CORRECTED OR THE POST TO BE DELETED AFTER...THERE IS MORE TO THIS BUT I FELT IT WAS WORTH MENTIONING WHILE I CONSIDER RECOMMENDING YOU FOR A BAN OR JUST LOCKING THE THREAD. I know all of this has been discussed ad nauseum, but I need to add my two cents. One thing that has always bothered me about the idea of the prequel, is that once you begin to explore the concept of the space jockey, you completely destroy the air of mystery around it, which the original film created so well. So a way to counter it, would be to introduce something else into the equation. If I’m not mistaken, Ridley Scott mentioned somewhere, that he was bringing Giger in, to work on a special project for him, which would play a part in the new film. Giger is not working on the design of the new aliens. Someone else is doing that..... so what is this special project? From all reports, Giger’s input seems to be limited.... His involvement is not as great as it was, in the original film. So I think that the space jockey, IS just a tool... or a creation of something else. Whatever that something else is...... it IS the special project that Giger was working on. Perhaps its this “face of god” rumor that has floated around?! Maybe! WARNING: SPECULATIVE SPOILERS AHEAD The space jockey is actually just a suit. Scott already said that there may be something else inside it. I think its likely that the space jockey is just a mutated human, that has been mutated for the purpose and side effects of deep space travel. A kind of perfected astronaut. All of the early statements by Scott, before the film went into prodction and the lid of secrecy came down, contain hints. Similarly....the face-hugger is a product of the mixture of a space jockey helmet, and the DNA from some sort of parasitic organism, which may be indigenous to whatever planet they are on. Failing that, it may be DNA, from one of the skeletal monstrosities that Kate Dickie mentioned. Whatever the case may be, I feel that the helmet and the face-hugger are linked, via the DNA of a third party and the green goo. In my opinion there is more than just a hint of that in the leaked picture of the SJ mask. I also suspect that the creation of the facehugger.... and hence the alien, will be depicted in Prometheus as being the end result of an act of treachery and betrayal on the part of man. Perhaps it will be us who create the alien, as a weapon against the SJ, and not the other way around.

I agree with all of that except there is no way the XENOMORPH was man made, none...it was created by a race of beings who wanted or want the perfect terra-forming and bio-weapon article.

Rumor has it that Space Jockeys have no understanding or comprehension of humor; it seems to make them snivel and whine.

well, "Book of Alien" by Scanlon and Gross which came out at the time of Alien talked about the Space Jockey being seen as benign "Sitting in repose in its doomed derelict ship, the jockey appears to somehow have been a benign creature. People involved in the film tend to agree on this. But they can't explain why", I suppose this is at least part of what Ian Nathan was referring to.

well I had to start with Aliens on the spectrum has no.1, due to the fact I spent an obscene amount of time trying to link all the rooms on the paper map that was supplied with the game. Then Konami got all my cash. Then Starcom got all my free time. Only got an Atari jaguar for AvP, then had to spend more cash later on with my pc to get a decent graphics card for AvP2 on the PC. I did play Alien on the speccy emulator years later, which I think was what was released on the c64.

Currently playing AVP on 360. I played through the campaign with the Pred first and enjoyed it. Right now I'm going through as the Xenomorph and am finding it much harder than playing as the Predator as you're pretty much cannon fodder if you go head to head with a shotgun wielding marine. I wasn't digging it too much at first, however it does force you to think more like a Xeno acts as in having to scale and hide on walls and ceilings so that you can clear a room full of marines by picking them off one by one. I'm enjoying the game and will be finishing it up with the Marines campaign. As for favorites assuming I have to keep Preds out of the loop aside from AVP games I'd have to say... 1) AVP (Arcade) 2) Alien Trilogy (PS1) 3) AVP (360) 4) Aliens (Arcade)

Have AvP for PS3 and been playing as the predators, but yes, playing as the Alien is tricky to get used to, but if you work it out, can be quite effective. Not going to exclude any of the games, so Alien, Aliens or AvP is all in the list for favourite game. come to think of it, wasn't there a board game as well..might have been a D&D/Warhammer/Role play type affair.

Personally, I prefer to disregard the direction that the makers of the ALIEN 3/ALIEN RESURRECTION movies took with the characters, lol! If you haven't already seen the 'My ALIEN 3 'fan-edit' proposal...with a TWIST!' topic on the previous page, then take a look at this to see what I'm hoping to organise shortly with certain footage - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bTBYbhECyGA And there's a final version of that short video being put together at the moment which incorporates some ALIEN RESURRECTION footage and altered wording...since Ripley, Newt, and Hicks will ALL survive the horrors of BOTH those 2 movies in my versions! :) I actually collected the original individual comic run of those Dark Horse titles, at the time. The artwork is terrific in some of them, and it's just a pity that some of the storylines weren't used for everything that came after the ALIENS movie! As far as PROMETHEUS goes, I'm guessing that it won't actually contradict any of the events from the original ALIEN movie onwards...but time will tell.
