Alien Comics..Story Arc

Well since I started the the thread on the favourite Alien games, I thought it might be good to start one on the comic story arc, views and opinions. So i wanted to start with my viewpoint (disclaimer i do not work for dark horse or film industry or anything) My first Aliens comic book was the DarkHorse release of Aliens Book One (second print) so the characters retained the names from Aliens, and I purchased the subsequent releases of Earth Wars etc which still had the Hicks/Newt characters. Then Alien3 was released, and in a heartbeat, the comics had all the characters renamed to keep continuity. so my question is: Did you refuse to accept the Alien3 continuity change and follow the proceeding story arc from Aliens book 1 has Hick and Newt, and has such saw Alien3 and 4 as some weird universe spin off or have you not noticed this Also, due to the fact that I am I big comic book geek, do you think that promethesus will upset the comic book story book arcs and cause new character/story rewrites

Personally, I prefer to disregard the direction that the makers of the ALIEN 3/ALIEN RESURRECTION movies took with the characters, lol! If you haven't already seen the [b]'My ALIEN 3 'fan-edit' proposal...with a TWIST!'[/b] topic on the previous page, then take a look at this to see what I'm hoping to organise shortly with certain footage - [url=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bTBYbhECyGA]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bTBYbhECyGA[/url] And there's a final version of that short video being put together at the moment which incorporates some ALIEN RESURRECTION footage and altered wording...since Ripley, Newt, and Hicks will ALL survive the horrors of BOTH those 2 movies in my versions! :) I actually collected the original individual comic run of those Dark Horse titles, at the time. The artwork is terrific in some of them, and it's just a pity that some of the storylines weren't used for everything that came after the ALIENS movie! As far as PROMETHEUS goes, I'm guessing that it won't actually contradict any of the events from the original ALIEN movie onwards...but time will tell.

I also am a huge fan of the comics and believe that Alien 3 should of carried on with the story of Newt/Hicks. I think that the Earth-War story was great and I would have loved to have seen that on the big screen! And believe that Alien Resurrection was terrible and if they stuck to the comics it would have been entirely different as would the AVP films. Also just recently re-read Aliens: Apocalypse the destroying angels comic very relevant in regards to Prometheus :) 1st post ever!
