I think this guy in the picture is being transformed/mutated into something, but NOT a Xenomorph as some people have said. . . That'd just be gay! "Ooo the origin of Xenomorphs is they began as Humans", way too cliche and simple!

@Xpresselevator Dude, get the queen out of your head, that was nothing to do with the original alien story. James Cameron made that part of the alien life cycle up for aliens. In alien it was absolutely implied that the xenos converted their victims into eggs which then transformed into facehuggers. The cut coccoon scene where dallas is transforming and you see brett has already taken egg form. On the derelict the script makes a point of Lambert enquiring "what happened to the rest of the crew?" Lo and behold Kane then finds all the eggs. This was also all implied in the novelization. I do know ridley has now moved the goal posts and said the eggs were been transported to be used as some weapon or terraforming device.

Perhaps the planet they go to has already been harvested and the species of the planet transformed to eggs?? The xeno we see in Prometheus could be the bi-product of this?? This could explain the malevolence of the Space Jockey....... Or maybe the Space Jockey are being harvested and the Engineer's are the attacking species (using the xeno's)???......

THP > I'll try , but the thing with prequels is that you can rewrite the sequels :D I don't think that the entire egg chamber would be a result of all the crew being mutated, otherwise that would be a lot of crew on that ship being picked off one at a time. I think if we are going to try and workout out what is going on with the film, we should really look at Alien. Much of what I am picking up from the human/alien link is: 1) We know what the cellular structure of the face huggers is made from (see Ash) 2) For a foreign organism to survive in a human, it would have to be biologically inert or compatible with the host so as not to cause rejection/reaction 3) This may explain the speed of the gestation period 4) The face huggers seem to know how to process and exchange gases, Oxygen/Carbon Dioxide. 5) The aliens seem quite happy eating humans, so no biology issues there then 6) I could also be talking nonsense, but in 113 days we'll know for certain :D have dusted off my copy of the Alien novel by alan dean foster and have started to re-read again.

If biological matter is in the Ampules I think this could explain the sheer volume of eggs. Whether the Ampules contain genetic material for various different species (like an space noah's ark) or a nursery for the Engineer's/Space Jockey's young. I think this is plausible as we have never seen a xeno out of a very industrial environment; if the xeno was capable of converting anything biological this could translate to why LV-426 is so barren. The xeno's have literally stripped everything biological away from the planet, with the exception of their creator the Engineer/Space Jockey.

Shaw puts on SJ bio-suit after being infected, there's no Prometheus left after colliding with the derelect. She enters the chair trying to destroy the derelict and "pop!" She gives birth to the first xeno.

I am just curious Why do you even care? What possible difference does it make at all if she dies or not? I am just not seeing it.

Maybe he can pounce / jump because he's an android like David. Maybe there's a few I. The ship acting as a military detachment, but with secret orders to bring back the evidence... Crew expendable...

Im sorry but I have to agree with Craigamore....Charlize is not transforming in that pic...she might go threw some sort of transformation during the course of the movie, but that pic is her doing her push-ups and the push up scene she mentioned herself back at comic con already....she does have a rather intense look on her face...but that's all I can make of it...I think people get payed good money to look intense in this type of movie...lol Besides the woman falling to her knees are covered in blood or some black shit...Vickers looks clean as a whistle and it is also a much darker scene..

@20thcenturybuick You are taking the trailer scenes out of context. The scene of the girl falling to her knees is a brunette so it is definately not Vickers (Therone) it could be Repace or Dickie, the general opinion is that it is Shaw (Repace) as she is in the medical tube and is believed to be unatturally pregnant or infected with somesort of unattural birth/ creature birth; after which you see the scene of her dropping to her knees near the doorway. Therone did 'joke' at the Comicon press conference about doing 'naked pushups'; it has been suggested that she is either hiding or waiting to attack someone. I can not see how much can be 'assumed' from the few seconds of this shot. Remember the trailer is not in chrologocal order. As for the guy that has been burnt by acid/bioform, etc. I have to agree with @Caigamore. If you watch the official countdown trailer (there were 3 of them, not sure which one it was in) there is footage as @Craigamore has said; he crawls up a 7-8 foot vehicle as if it was a toy car, so he is definately displaying superhuman strength. Also judging by the extent of the burns, if he was 'only human' he would be hospilatised by the injuries not climbing up and jumping off of tall vehicles attacking his fellow crew members................. Hope you don't take this the wrong way :)

I thought long and hard about all this over the weekend and here is what I came up with. I now believe that Viscous Liquid contained in the containers which we have been calling for want of a better terme..."Bio-Former"... is actually Pre-programmed for certain species condusive to Terra Forming. The Liquid itself, when from a URN pre-programmed for XENOMORPH creation, if not handled properly, will grow and grow and grow and grow and grow until it consumes every single living thing it touches. That guy, has been touched by Bio-Former Liquid and is mutating into something so big we cannot even imagine it...YET !!! Something along these lines above is what I am thinking is really really going on there...we are ONLY seeing the benign begginnings of something so HORRIBLE half of us will not be able to grasp what we are seeing in the end.

Spartacus it could also be to de-evolve a species. The mutant guy could be de-evolving into an early stage of human existance and the xeno could come from the Engineer de-evoling both through contact of the bio-form liquid.

I like that idea a lot. good one, whomever was first with that. I remember saying this before as well, someone mentioned this idea already and I do in fact like it a lot. Again, I think the best part of all of this is how much fun it is going to be to revisit all these ideas after the film comes out.

Whenever I see someone use that word to describe an alien in the movie Prometheus all can think of is desperate wish fulfillment for the original Alien to return to this movie. Please think of something else to call whatever the crew of the Prometheus is transforming into. The suffix "Xeno" is from the Greek which means "stranger, alien". The word morph means " a visual or behavioral difference between organisms of distinct populations in a species". Xenomorph is a portmanteau word which only appears in the movies "Aliens" which refers to the original Alien created by H.R. Giger.

Ridely has stated there will be a 'progenitor' to the Xenomorph but no Xenomorph's as we have seen them already. So we will see the missing link not the Alien we know as the Xenomorph. But this has been covered on magnitude on this sight.

I was just about to post the same thing BellaisanAlien, I even had this quote to paste. EGE: Final question. I have a feeling what the answer will be, but many want to know. Will we see the original xenomorph in Prometheus? RS: No. Absolutely not. They squeezed it dry. He (the xenomorph) did very well. (He laughs) He survived, he’s now in Disneyland in Orlando, and no way am I going back there. How did he end up in Disneyland? I saw him in Disneyland, Jesus Christ! I'm not saying there will be a xenomorph of some form in the movie, but I would say that it's not a definite no. From what I read somewhere on one of the forums was that what we saw in Alien possibly had Space Jockey DNA, and then Human DNA after that. So try stripping away any human traits, and then any space jockey traits (Which we don't really know may be at this point, since we're all waiting to see what they actually look like without the suit) and you can easily end up with something that looks nothing like what we see in Alien. Like I said this isn't definite, however it could fit along with what Ridley is saying.

So is the 'bio-former' a progenitor to the alien blood and facehugger? Is the white worm also some earlier version of the facehugger? And the ampules earlier forms of the eggs? The key ideas of the film are just out of reach (as I'm sure Ridley would want). Are we in fact witnessing the early stages of the process / experiments which eventually lead to the fully fledged xenomorph 'system'? Do the crew find the Space Jockeys at a stage when the 'Alien' is still in the design process? Does the crew's intervention / involvement have some bearing on the 'end product'?

Could be something like this Xenomorph - Human DNA - Jockey DNA = Progenitor and really the progenitor could be anything he wants to make it be whether it's green goop, a slithery fishy looking thing or whatever else he wants to create. A well written story can explain any sequence of events to get from Progenitor to Xenomorph. I know a lot of us are hoping for something of this nature to explain some of the mystery of the Aliens origin, but all we may get is a hint at something to do with the original film and not see anything even related to the Xeno which could raise even more questions and not really clear anything up.

yeah xenomorphs is just ageneral term meaning alien also ENOUGH WITH THE BIOFORMER...that is a made up word made up in someone's FANFIC..there isnt going to be anything about bioformer in prometheus...those people arent transforming after coming into contact with a "bioformer" thats totally made up by someone who just made it up out of thin air after watching the trailer that stuff looks like acid that the guy comes into contact with probably acid ic blood like the aliens have...and who knows what that stuff fassbender is looking at...it could beanything..it could be preserved organs used to engineer the xenos or it could be some preserved species...it could be ANYTHING...its not some BIOFORMER stuff you guys are basing that all on someone's FANFIC its ridiculous...watch when the movie comes out and nobody is transforming and there is no bioformer at all some members of the crew are clearly rabid from coming into contact with somthing that is making them attack the other crew members...however, they are not turning into the xenomorphs...they aren't..the dude's face is burned..the xenos come from facehugger eggs they burst out of somoenes chest after incubating and growing ...there isnt a bioformer that changes someones genetic structure the origions of the xenos are not mutated humanbeings..they origionate from eggs a QUEEN lays the eggs..there is no bioformer although that is a cool concept and pretty good writing for a fanfic thats not what is happening in the movie..thats just some made up plot

Sorry @reffugee, I'm sure exactly which shot you're looking for....I think I do, but was not able to find it so that I could post it......admittedly, I'm a bit computer illiterate with certain things.

And you seem to keep missing the entire point @20thcenturybuick.........Ridley said we won't see the xeno. We will see a 'progenitor' of the xeno, as in something that resembles one but isn't and comes before it. True, the whole bioformer thing is fanfiction, but it comes out of people putting the peices together in an way that is not illogical........the acid stuff obviously changes whoever it affects, makes them change in an obviously grotesque way, makes them aggressive towards their fellow crew and apparently give them strange agility, speed and athletic ability that does not appear human...people are logically suggesting that the affected individual is the 'progenitor' of the xeno.....that said, the whole bioformer business is just a term used to express the theory, that's all....RELAX....

Even though I was berated for daring to predict a theory in a previous thread, Ill repeat myself... I think that Repace's character will be impregnated either accidentally by coming in contact with what ever is in the ampules, or deliberately by SJ's or others, therefore creating the first Xeno. I think the scenes with her bloodied are the effects of this pregnancy, not transforming into something else as previously stated in this thread. This new Xeno she births will be different because it has no SJ DNA. I agree with the burning face acid theory because really, Space Zombies! I doubt very that Ridley would bother with this tired over used story line. Also we need to keep in mind that there could be some internal espionage going on.....

@brego: you have one helluva an imagination. You should write scifi scripts for television. I'm being sarcastic of course. I think Shaw's bloodied appearance from the trailer is from being attacked by a transformed crew member. Look to the left of the shot of the so-called burning acid victim: see the silhouette of a crew member's face screaming/yelling? I think that's a reaction to the sudden transformation of human to a sj puppet.

I think he means you will see the jockey's laboratories or something, with proto-xenos in development in them. The main antagonists though, will obviously be the jockeys.
