WHYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY...i was so hopeing the the sj actually really looked like their suites!!!....now that they look human i am really pissed off.......i think im gonna go punch my brother brb...well anyways..i dont know why RS hired such a fail team to produce the idea of the SJ...but if he followed the the comic books and actual books of the story..the space jockey look nothing like a human..they look much more alien!!!! more like the alien itself!!! im sure it will still be a great movie..but i was hopeing to be completely shocked and awed by the sight of the SJ...

Just because it's a suit, doesn't necessarily mean the creatures that wear them look fully human. Heck, I had been thinking that what we saw in "Alien" might be the result of an SJ having died in a state of being [i]physically[/i] biomechanically "merged" with the instrument he was found within.....muscles, nervous system, etc. That's super high-tech creepy, right? Am I disappointed that it reallly is, "just" a pedestrian environmental suit?.....not if it works in the story. I mean, would you want a couple of those giants stomping down...oh, say,[i] that[/i] corridor above, right at your heels, while bellowing out the order of limbs the're going to tear off, once they catch you?

So we travel 5 years through hyperspace to find an alien that wears good ol' Wellington boots?! There has been a lot of fact and innuendo that have not met my personal expectations of the film - the so-called "mohawk guy", the "tall guy", the "magic ooze" - but I made concessions and remained optimistic, repeating in my head, "In Ridley I trust, In Ridley I trust...". But I'm sorry to say, the sight of Wellington boots has finally broken me. Damn I thought there would be a bit more creativity around it all. Of course, I'm already trying to explain to myself the boots and the rubbery suits themselves: perhaps the boots are no bother because in the actual film there is no view of them, and the suits are merely the costumes for the film rather than a part of it - assuming the background is a warts 'n' all internal pic. I dunno, might have to hit the bottle to lift my spirits. Sorry to be a bummer.

I also work with photoshop everyday...her hair is the biggest give away...a really bad amateur job...cannot help but think it is fan made.....! But those suits in the background....how do we know those are suits?...maybe those are the actual SJ's standing in the hallway? To be honest i have not looked at the higher contrast images...but from what I have seen...they look like they might be the actual sj's...(or I guess maybe just suits...we'll see?) actually im not too upset about the suits they have...they pretty ass kiking...but what i was complaining about was the shot...exuse me image of the person next to the chair riseing from the floor...the zoomed in picture...um...it looks way to human to me...even if it is a giant...im just disapointed...they should of had geiger on the set is all im saying...he is actually the whole creator of this world anyways...or the idea of it maybe..but in not sure if anyone is aware of a game called DARK SEED????? i was hopeing the SJ would follow a more...um..organic illustration of that universe, if u can understand my dumb babbling...but anyways ...check out dark seed...

i'm diggin' the spare Engineer suits (or maybe just statues?) after all, there is HUGE sculpture of a head in one of those rooms in any case, i had been wishing for a new image to tease us all, and low and behold, i got my wish! really intriguing image here and...i love the countdown to the PROMETHEUS film for it to hit theaters in 145+ days (aaaaaaaaaaaaargh...!!!!!) still, looks well worth the wait!

As interesting as the SJ "suits" are, I'm wondering why Noomi's suit looks so different from earlier released pictures that appear to be in the same location. Anyone up for a side by side comparison? so this is where the "retouched" rumor came from? a bunch of sheep who can't use their own judgment to tell that it's a real photo? the prometheus forum continues to challenge my faith in mankind.

Why don't you use the photo to answer some of your questions? For instance, obviously if you were to apply resin to these surfaces, It would take on a much more INTENSE organic look like bones. I'm talking about applying it to the walls ceiling and floors, literally everything. Then it would look oddly familiar. The process would either take one xenomorph a long time, or many xenomorphs a short while.

i too am quite familiar with Photoshop, but i can't see the "eally bad amateur job they did their.....!" in any case, i think those suits could possibly be smaller standing monuments possibly? i mean, there IS a HUGE sculpture of a head / face in this film, or perhaps those in fact ARE emergency Engineer suits...??? so damn cool looking!

Oddly enough, what if they're merely statues? Isn't it possible that their species has been worshipped in some fashion, as they are creators of life, who know's what stage their progeny have been revisited during? They would certainly seem as dieties if they visited the Inca's or Mayans in the past. I hate the boots on the figures, totally looks like waders for a fly fisherman cast in stone.

Well that leaked plot made out that the SJ's created one of the crew god knows when and implanted specific DNA in her etc which turns her evil blah blah blah. Haha, me too. It feels like the start of the film will be as important as the end because Ridley has hinted at two prequels and suggests we "might want to go to where his [the creatures'] people came from".

I hope that Ridley Scott is very much involved in any potential sequel/prequels! I don't wanna see Prometheus go all "Alien3" esque or get ruined by a studio boss who has no idea. Do you think a longer trailer will be released before June?? I kinda want another longer one, but don't at the same time!

There's bound to be trailers released before June, just to tease and taunt us even more. I'm still disgruntled at Alien 3 BTW. I got attached to the whole Newt-Hicks storyline in Cameron's film.

Yeah that storyline was good! Alien3 just doesn't exist in my eyes, that may seem a tad extreme but hey whatcha gonna go. Hopefully Prometheus has a midnight release here in the UK, I'll be queueing to see it straight away! To come back from going off on a tangent there. . . I like How Scott has included the whole discovering our creation but it could lead to our demise scenario, I just can't wait to see what/who exactly is responsible for either of those (creation or destruction).

I'd have a problem if there really was a stooge with a hidden agenda. Reason being, the Company is financing and orchestrating the whole mission (or at least the assumption is such). Therefore, why would the Company not just send off like-minded individuals who are committed to the Company cause. It would be a weak plot in my opinion. However, that's not to say allegiances switch, minds are lost, and the instinct to survive kicks in, when all hell breaks loose - or should I say when all paradise breaks loose :)

Remember the slogan of the film,,,,,,,,,,these explores seek out the story of human life and get stranded........so if that happens, maybe they try to get with the larger alien species, to find a way off the planet and end up creating a nasty mixture of dna or lava juice or sumthing, and it all backfires............???your thoughts////

As their very reason for going to Zeta RET comes from a archaelogical dig. One never knows exactly how much their SPONSORS know about their destination. A few clever omissions can make the entire journey seem legit when there is indeed a hidden agenda. That star map for instance. If Weyland wants a roadmap to other planets containing possible corporate interests what better way to explore vicariously than to view the star maps of an experienced and far flung preexisting civilization.

the first suit puffs up when pressurized. she just hasn't deactivated it after taking the helmet off. the last suit is for regular atmospheric conditions. possibly used on a second trip after they realized the ampule room had air.

Actually, that's a very poor render of a LightWave mesh that I have. The 3D package used apparently doesn't support subdivision models.. those sharp edges (the "technical" look you mentioned) are supposed to be rounded off. Look at the top of the bulge above and in front of the jockey's head, see how segmented it is, how you can see individual polygons? It shouldn't look like that. While it's not 100% accurate, it's really the only SJ 3D model available, and it's quite good for most uses. I was considering trying to retexture parts of it, but I doubt I'll have the time. Most people probably wouldn't even notice the little inaccuracies about it. The author is currently working on the alien itself, which I can't wait for.. I can make great renders of just about everything, but I'm not very good at modeling, especially organic shapes like this. Where's the YouTube video you mentioned?

Good work ..can i ask you a question ? In your trailer you use some parts of the leaked trailer ( of from the comic con ) .... and are of very good quality ... much better than the ones i saw before ( i can be wrong ) Can you post the leaked trailer/comic con footage with that quality ?

@Neurion Cool image! I like the progression of terror on Ripley’s face from left to right...on the Alien 3 piece. The expression on Sigourney's face in the first "I" if the Roman numeral is one of my favorite images from the first movie...just staring at the thing in her midst. Excellent job! Li
