Lambert was scripted to be raped by the alien, it was party filmed before the script was changed but they left just enough in the film as to be ambiguous. I'm glad they didn't show it, that would have been just too goofy.

One of the most frequently mentioned possible plots for the movie is that it starts with a archaeological discovery on Earth, in the African continent. From there, a new crew embarks on a journey beyond the stars to reach a planet or planetoid with wormhole access to...uh-hm, Gods. Either way, I can't wait for this movie.

I don’t think that the head room is on earth due to the whole context of the trailer is set 100% in space. The first shot of the Prometheus sets this context out clearly from the get go. that said - there must be a reason in the film for them going to the Alien planet in the first place - which could revolve around some discovery on earth....

@Krak, all this is pure speculation on my part, and those other guys. That's why it's so much fun to hang out in this forum. To discuss, exchange thoughts, wish could do it in a coffee shop but hey, the internet is just as fun.

I think the trailer it´s not in chronological order,is only different pieces of the movie but not in the right order.

Course it is, that's why their wearing spacesuits like they just got out of a spaceship.........

One theory I've been toying with is that they actually uncover a derelict ship on earth. So I'm not ready to completely write off the idea that the Giant head, Ampules, and Star map sequences take place on earth.

I also think that the scene is still on earth. The reason is i guess that the Space Jockey might not allow them to do such a research in their planet. Because every secret of technology is all controlled by Space Jockey . If human wants to know ,just to ask, they will know everything they allowed to know. If the research is organized by their own without permission of Space Jockey, that they are taking the high risk. All my opinion.

All the action will be in space, the discover on earth will be referred to or shown in the alleged flashbacks.

@Jeffomorph, You know Ridley Scott has said that some of Prometheus is based on Eric von Daniken’s theories.. In his book "Chariots of the Gods" there is a chapter called "Ancient Marvels or Space Travel Centers".. So your idea would not be that far fetched.. I aslo just noticed that the original movie "Chariots of the Gods", a documentary is on youtube.. looks like the whole thing is there! There is also a book call Rogue Moon.. look it up.. I'm trying to get my hands on it.. it's about alien artifacts, radical teleportation ideas... you'll get the jist.

They should revise the trailer, and in blue letters inbetween scenes they should print .. "Ship Lands".. then another scene from the movie, then blue letters again.. "They leave the ship"... you get the idea... inbetween all scences it will state this: "Explore" -- "Find the head" -- "Something goes wrong" -- "Head back to ship" -- "All hell breaks out" -- Then after all ship crashing scenes happen.. with burning blue flames it will say... "There are no Earth Scenes!" LOL

They used to have a voice-over that did all that danrald. LOL Sadly, the one I'm thinking of passed away. I think he did the Predator trailers among a vast amount of others.

Maybe they are collection vessels! Engineer leaves them purposely on the planets he has seeded for life. Life forms evolves and becomes intelligent. Eventually the creation finds the ship and explores it, ship reactivates and returns "home" with specimens. There is a lot of ways they could work this. I can't wait t osee how off-base I am with this stuff.

Yes seen this - flashback are almost impossible to do well (I wasnt a Lost fan) they just seem to cheapen the character development - like sixth form (10th grade for Mericans!) drama club character development. But i guess this is a formality unless the story begins with Elizabeth as a child. I read Elizabeths Shaw is meant to be a bit religious despite her faith in science - maybe the 'I was so wrong' has something to do with this??

Ridley scott stated that both Shaw ( faith ) and Holloway ( science ) will have to swallow alot .

@Frantz I love that Science vs Faith angle. Just so you know, Damon Lindelof the screenwriter is also one of the creative team behind the TV show LOST. And lo & behold, one of the episodes is titled "Man of Science, Man of Faith".

Yes, i too can see a partial image of a face. But what about the face on the far lower left? On the lower left edge of the cone shaped stack of distorted stones, one stone appears to have the appearance of a face in profile. That or my eyes are playing tricks on me.

@Gehirn, You are 100% correct! For another reason other than the trailer, I specualte another explosion in the sky. In addition when the Jockey ship lands it seems like Shaw is trying to get in.. I mean, what would she be doing out there so close to the ship after it crashed. So maybe someone is in the ship that they need or are concerned about.. As well, I think there maybe a second Space Jockey ship.. The theory is that the ship "rolls", but it seems like it would break appart..

LOL Frantz! I just figure David has to be looking at the star map for a reason. If it's in their interests to know where the alien ship is going it might fit in with when the ship is actually moving. And to have Vickers as part of that process is just too saucy to not draw a link between them. The second fire is just a neat way of fitting it in, but I'm sure it's there! Whether internal or external. It's also burning so close to what looks like a navigation deck of sorts and where we would assume the pilot's room would be from watching Alien. Ship crashes, Shaw freezes, Vickers' pod lands in the path of death, Shaw goes to help her out, both freak out at a loud noise and hey hey here comes the giant horseshoe! That's where the speculation ends, and the lesbian romance fan fiction between two stranded females begins...
