It kinda looks to me as if it would certainly encase 'somethings' head at the sides, but is not shaped to form a complete 'helmet' say. And doesn't seem to show any attached 'snorkel'-like attachment either. So we're still none the wiser about how the final 'pilot' (or 'gunner') that sits on there will look eventually. But the radical-looking differences to the overall object and base of this structure are very striking compared to how it looks in ALIEN. I'm definately leaning to the PROMETHEUS trailer NOT showing the same 'Derelict' we're familiar with, despite those who insist it's the same but with some stylistic changes and artistic licence taken. There's just too many obvious differences in the look of the exterior and interior at this point, and this amount of 'continuity differences' would just be ridiculous. It's ANOTHER craft say I.

@Zeus - This was posted up on the discussion board while back. Can't remember who it was (Was it you BIOMECHANIC???) but did a great job on getting the second or 2 clip from the trailer and enlarged it. OK...even if that tall dude is the Space jockey, and they wear suits. My issue is this. You can get away from the bulkiness of the suit. I can buy that. But rematch Alien and look how long its arm is. It's like 6 feet long! That big guy doesn't look that big.

I'm also curious about those 'pod'-like sections with the heiroglyphs on them, which are on the base here, unlike ALIEN's version. They seem to have 'translucent' bits on top of them. Wonder if they contain anything or not? And I don't know if I'm imagining this or not, but if you look very closely at the excellent 'gif' link in drogie21's post above...are we seeing ANOTHER figure entering under the letter 'T' in PROMETHEUS, through what looks to be a 'circular' entrance into this 'Spacejockey' area?

Cervantes - I'm beginning to think this is a possibility too. My only doubt is, if the other craft was different, shouldn't it be truly radically different? Or are we looking at a slightly reshaped interior...bit like a Peugeot 205 compared to a 205 Gti ? lol

Too easy to make it look [i]exactly[/i] the same, for it to be the derelict from "Alien." I also don't think the SJ is wearing a "suit." I think the SJs are fully biomechanical, that one of them literally [i]merges[/i] with the chair, ( insert creepy CGI effect here ) and that he'll more closely resemble the iconic "Alien" SJ after that happens.

i don't see it. not laughing though. i don't believe there is based on the posture of the person with the flamethrower... looks like a "test" shot to me. the postures of the other 2 people in the frame also don't appear to be defensive. if the flamethrower person were trying to burn a xeno, they all wouldn't appear so casual.

interesting. had to watch the trailer again, and am now realizing that the flame is coming from outside the frame, not from the guy/gal in the frame. happens so fast, hard to tell. also didnt understand what you meant by layered scene, but now i do. so you think an SJ and xeno are layered into that shot?

They took a scene where the are burning a creature and just isolated the flame in the scene. Then they added that flame to the scene of the guys walking around in the "Cargo Bay" or whatever it is called. Just like a doctored photoshop image. But they did it with video. Then they cut the creature out of the flames so you see through it. The flames outline the creature. So I think the creature look like a space jockey eye and then a regular xeno.. a cross of the 2 to say.. but who knows, it could be something else. But it looks like a little subliminal image. Could be nothing.. lol

interesting. i must say that when I saw your first pic, the flames did appear "doctored" to me... but i'm no expert on that subject.

Hey, dudes. I don´t know- maybe you´re right but I´d not put my money on that stealth silhoutte... Another thing that makes me wonder is, that it´s enough oxygen in the atmoshere, otherwise it would not burn. My brainteaser for you is focusing on another thing: the spacesuits of Prometheus Crew: Why are those illuminated- I wonder if it´s only the airlock-collars or if there are even more elements (e.g. gloves) which glow in the dark like frogfish. The more I think about it, the more I´m convinced this movie turns out to be stoo. Only bytw: The whole plot of this movie´s build up in `Deep Sapce Nine´ sort of and isolated... If it´ll turn (in a few months) out that they deal wit some species of invisible kind, I´ll get out/ leave theatre right in that moment. Actually, I´ll pay no attention to these harassments anymore; I`m tired not only about the plot, the artefacts (which come in a `retro glow in the dark´ fashion) but also of this whole large scaled shot just to tie it up w. the originial Gigeresque/ Alien stuff, which turn it over to be some sort of `PREQUEL´, nonetheless.

at first i thought you were on to something but when i watched the trailer for the 800th time lol there are THREE people not TWO in the cargo bay, never noticed it till right now. its hard to see but when the scene starts to end & change to the next scene, you see the flame thrower (the nozzle part i guess you would call it) held by the THIRD person, he is making his way into that shot as the scene ends. you have to look very closely b/c its hard to see. agree or disagree, but Danrald it would be interesting if they did do something like you mentioned. i could see the marketing schmucks doing something like that.

I analyzed what that "nozzle" looks like in detail and it does not fit into the scene. It is some weird shaped thing... But did you see the man in the Large and Large Detail images?

Actually if you want to get technical theres 4 people in the shot, after yet another viewing lol the one i mentioned who is off camera, one person walking away from us, one person walking towards us, and another person about to get in one of those small vehicles to the left

it looks more like an alien head to me but with stuff like this you can see what you want to see, its one of those screwed up tendencies we have lol seeing what you want to see & hearing what you want to hear. but if you look closely you can see that the "nozzle" is the precise angle of which the flame is being shot at. even the guy in front is holding the flamethrower the same exact way. im almost certain that its the 4th guy who just happens to be out of frame in the shot.

So true about seeing what you want to see.. The eye that I pointed out still looks like an eye.. I think I tained the image in your mind by saying it's an alien head.. lol. So there maybe multiple images in the fire.. Prometheus.. stole fire, so they put a composite of images in the "fire".. lol. But there is clearly a mans face dead center of the red circle! If you look at it a few more times.. you'll see.

that is known to happen to based on you suggesting the alien head lol but i really dont see a persons face, but what i see with the alien head is - banana head, mouth, even some of the tubing on the side of its head. but at this point i think we are seeing what we want to see. same thing happened with me when revenge of the sith was about to be released, and over analyzing every picture, every microscopic detail, etc. its what we fanboys do i guess lol

I don't see a xeno or anything. I did always wonder about that fire and it is possible it was put in afterwards strictly to make that scene more interesting for the trailer. They seem awfully oblivious to that fire. We really need to stop using low quality images. I think I found a site that hosts images exactly the way you upload them.. What on earth are you saying? I only highlighted the feet in one picture and used a sharpening tool in the other. The information has not been manipulated to falsify anything it is just your images have lots of compression artifact and are distorted. Watch the trailer in 1080 at iTunes. In Quicktime you can step frame by frame and I suggest you do so before you accuse someone of falsifying material.

You know what I'm saying.. if you don't want these pictures up.. I can understand.. lol.. I'll take them down. I feel slightly unethical about posting something that is supposed to be kept a secret. Your images are tainted.. they are not the same images in the trailer...

the images Bio posted are the real images. There is nothing in the fire besides fire. The only things seen through the fire are the transport vehicle behind it and its the wheel you keep thinking is a face. Mind manipulation over something so ridiculous as this is silly. You haven't posted anything illegal or secret danrald. Everybody keeps trying to find the "alien" throughout the trailer and it has already been said over and over again that it is not in this film. stop trying to act like a big secret is going to come out of these images and just enjoy them for what they are. you guys are going to speculate yourselves into a heart attack when the film comes out and NONE of these ideas pans out.

NO, I'm just trying to make sure I (along with everybody else) keeps a cool head over this stuff. When you over-analyze every detail of everything you are not going to enjoy the final product.

There is actually SIX people in that shot NOT including the SEVENTH guy shooting the flames. But, MindBender is right...it seems many people WANT there to be some sort of Xenomorph creature in this movie and you're all trying desperately to find ANY scrap of evidence from the trailer. And all this "overlaid image of flames" thing is a bit silly, no offence, it's just there is too much else in the shot to suggest otherwise. Yeah, I've said it before and I'll say it again: You are over analysing everything so much that you'll be disappointed to find that a shot like the cargo bay scene is a VERY small, insignificant scene in the final film.

There ARE Xenomorphs in Prometheus, I have proof, 100% proof, no lie, honest to god, you will not believe this. I saw a blurry Xenomorph head on a slice of toast I made for breakfast.
