Sorry folks, as a avid fire bug what is seen is flames being discharged from a device out of scene coming from the right. Though the overlapping cuts create illusions, I don't think that's what was intended for that shot.
I'm more interested in the other trailer that has the overlay that says WILD CARD. Does anyone have a link to that version? Sorry if this has been asked a million time before me, but I just saw glimpse due to Snorkelbottom's contribution to the GIF tentacle dispute.

YES!!! i thought i was alone with the idea about where the flame was coming from lol. on the first page i wrote that right when that scene starts to end & blend into the next scene, we see the nozzle from the flamethrower come into focus, which is the fourth person in that scene, hes just off camera. the nozzle is at the precise angle that flame is being launched from. am glad someone else saw it.

The people in that clip are just going about their business. None of them look like they're reacting to any serious percieved threat. If there's a creature just out of frame in that clip, I think it's probably very small and unthreatening. * wink, wink, nudge, nudge*

Ridley Scotts Legend - Minus the kick ass design of Darkness played by Tim Curry, that film is an abombination, yet he has also directed Alien, Blade Runner, Gladiator & Black Hawk Down (amongst others) and those four are considered top-notch films by virtually everyone.
ReplyManndroidPrometheus ForumThe Darkest HourJan 6, 2012
I'll give you Alien, Blade Runner and Black Hawk Down, but I felt Gladiator wasn't all that great. For reasons.
ReplyGavinPrometheus ForumThe Darkest HourJan 6, 2012
You get my point though - you can't win 'em all.
Take the other Lost guy J J Abrams - Lost (nope), Star Trek (meh), Super 8 (its a big version of the aliens from star wars episode II), and the Fringe (love that program).
ReplyManndroidPrometheus ForumThe Darkest HourJan 6, 2012
I agree with JJ Abrams, though I liked Super 8 (for reasons not involving the design of the alien). Lost, Star Trek, Cloverfield... All meh, for me. Don't get me started on Joss Whedon, though.
ReplyFrantzPrometheus ForumThe Darkest HourJan 6, 2012
i did love Legend ... there are some scenes i can press the pause button and watch them for hours .
i did hate super8 ( great start and then an abominable list of cliches )
Serenity ... is embarassing .
i think Pandorum is a bit underrated
ReplyRuthPrometheus ForumThe Darkest HourJan 6, 2012
I saw it (the darkest hour) on Wednesday. Uhm, it was a complete nonsense and crap, in my opinion.
+, I did enjoy Super 8 and Cloverfield. Just saw someone's discussing about it.
ReplyGavinPrometheus ForumThe Darkest HourJan 6, 2012
Cloverfield was different, that's about all really.
ReplyLHeureuxPrometheus ForumThe Darkest HourJan 6, 2012
Pandorum was really really good. Didn't like the kind of Warrior-1337 girl otherwise.
ReplyGavinPrometheus ForumThe Darkest HourJan 6, 2012
Would you believe that I actually have not see Pandorum yet.

If the best thing that comes out of someone's mouth during PROMRTHEUS is equal to the xenos were conceived by human dna and midichlorians(however you spell it). I'll demand my money and sue brandywine and scott free for me suffering anguish and torment for over 6 months. =)

a shadow or tail or even a toe of the creature that will become the xeno..................
ReplyvisualizerPrometheus ForumThe Next TrailerJan 6, 2012
Something that reveals a little more about the SJs/engineers to keep us all guessing and get a little closer to the true story.
ReplyThe High PriestPrometheus ForumThe Next TrailerJan 6, 2012
Personaly I think the next trailer should be end of MArch, be twice the leangth (i.e 2 minutes) show us more SJ action. Maybe a quick glimpse of the "suit" wrapping around the SJ. More detail on the dynamic between characters (whats the deal with Guy Pearce?) and hopefully some Giger/necronomican inspired early Xeno action.
ReplyGavinPrometheus ForumThe Next TrailerJan 6, 2012
I wonder if we'll get a prologue of the film around easter time. Like what they have just done it for Dark Knight Rises (the first 7 minutes of the film) and AVPR (the first six minutes broadcast on UK freeview channel Film 4) a month before that was released.
ReplySpartacusPrometheus ForumThe Next TrailerJan 6, 2012
I do not want to see any more and feel if anything further is done it should be done in a very low key manner like tiny 15 seconds spots during Prime Spots Like the Superbowl and this years Oscars and it should feature only shots of the derelicts signal with that same score in the other trailer backing it up. I feel it should begin with One very close shot of the egg from the very first Alien Trailer and just dissolve into an Urn or Egg from how they will appear in Prometheus !!!!
That for me is ALL they need to do to psych us out right and not give anything else away and still accomplish the same thing they would with any big new trailer and lots of reveals.
ReplyNEXUXPrometheus ForumThe Next TrailerJan 6, 2012
I think 1 mint trailer wud be fine and must be under shadow again, wanna see it in IMAX not in trailer ^_^
ReplyMekja-TekPrometheus ForumThe Next TrailerJan 6, 2012
crackling audio...SJ/Pilot chair still empty from a closer view and the distress voices from the beginning of the teaser trailer...flash of something feminine and Gigeresque...Man in suit jumping and "No!"..."We were so wrong!"...screams, then cut to black ... 6.8.2012.
No hiss, slime, tentacles, crab like fingers, no phallus (flaccid or erect) silhouettes, just the same score, and the above sequences.

Why does EVERYONE STILL THINK THERE ARE XENOS IN THE MOVIE!??!
ReplyshardyPrometheus ForumThe Next TrailerJan 6, 2012
i'm most likely in the minority here,
but i hope the next trailer keeps us all guessing
i hate it when a film trailer gives away too much
being an avid admirer of ALIEN (1979),
PROMETHEUS is something i am truly anticipating seeing,
so i am hoping there will be some mystery in the next trailer
at the same time, the official trailer that was released in Dec,
had me going over it with a focused lens, and left me pretty
much dying to see more
a contradiction on my part i guess.....
ReplyMekja-TekPrometheus ForumThe Next TrailerJan 6, 2012
The teaser trailer alone is making it easier for me to forget the sequels! =))

Giger involved, i thought he wasn't, i'm surprised about it
32 years between Alien and Prometheus can forgive design mistakes
Scott and Giger they must be more concern with the details the next time, after all, no one has seen the movie yet, we've to wait for the premiere, maybe it's just another ship, not the alien's derelict ship specifically.
ReplyDrexlspiveyAlien Movies Forum'Continuity Errors' in PROMETHEUS Designs?Jan 6, 2012
Don't forget how "biologic" Spacejockey technology appears. If the spacecraft are in fact the same, the damaged ship in the Prometheus trailer may have regenerated itself after the crash. Of course, the pilot didn't make out as well.
The more difficult question is explaining the differences between the rugged planet surface where the derelict rests in Alien with that of the barren crash site in Prometheus.

AVP: pissed me off! I had such high hopes. A queen had been on earth all this time? So unbelievable. Why did they not use any of the material from the Darkhorse comics from the early 90's. That stuff was awesome, and that's what I was expecting.
AVPR: the first few minutes were pretty cool. Xeno gets loose, alarms go off, Predator home world alerted. I went in with low expectations because again, the idea of Xenos getting turned loose on Earth with any outcome other than total Human extinction is just not realistic to me. Some cool kill shots, chest bursting a kid, etc. Hated the emotional subplots. I didn't care about anyone, wanted them all to die. I appreciated the Strauss brothers efforts, but they aren't directors... good ones anyways.
Predators: I loved this flick! Everything was just full of epic win for me... except for Topher's character thinking he would be buddies with the Predators... that was kind of lame. I felt it stayed very true to what the Predator Race is all about.
re: Predator 2. I also liked this one a lot too. I remember seeing it get like 1.5 stars for review avg and went thinking I would be disappointed. I liked all the directions it took, and the ending was pretty cool.
ReplyReimerAlien Movies ForumAVP, AVPR & Predators - Your OpinionsJan 6, 2012
Only watched AVP of these three - schlocky, formulaic trash (with high production values) that intermittently engages. Having the Aliens in it at all (NOT in CGI) gives it some value for me as I love to watch these hideous/beautiful beasties in action, be it washing the dishes, testing out their confinement or merely doing battle with those muscular, dreadlocked Space Samurai.
