This is all very good Snork. The AVP movies dabbled in this with disasterous effects. Too complicated and no audience for it. The Alien is a thoroughbred creature with a very simple life cycle but with a massive problem when it comes to survival. It needs another creature to survive. So isolate it and it dies out which means it cannot live on it's own. So when compared with what we understand as evolution it does not fit in. Given that it must, using our logic and what we know of nature, be a by-product of something else.

Yeah not too original really, and they've fed us this view through the info they've released... There's more to the story for sure unless they really stress the David being a friendly Bishop-type android and possibly the surprise survivor/hero idea that's floated around.

My theory involves Shaw being the secret android, i think it would be too obvious if it was Vickers, Scott has too much invested for that. There are screen shots of Shaw's flashbacks to when she was a kid. I think these are memory implants to make her think she's human. That whole theme worked well for Scott in Blade Runner and it hasn't really been revisited since. Just a thought! P.s wasn't the trailer meant to be out today???

Which makes me think that Shaw isn't the android. Ridley will know that his fans may suspect that very link of implanted memories from Bladerunner, and thus will avoid such an obvious idea. Think about from a writers point of view - you want to keep your audience guessing and second guessing, not figuring out an important twist within the first five minutes. regards the trailer, thats what I heard, but as of yet nothing. But the days not over yet.

Good thought Enderwiggin. I cant help thinking that Scott is going to have to go radical on this to get away from the last couple of Alien failures. I reckon on earth the scientists get it wrong and go looking for something that isnt there. Instead they find a race bent on destruction but are blind to it (Being Scientists) and dont recognize this until the last minute. By then they have sent out a signal haling their wonderful discovery and the greedy company sends a ship with mercenaries and a driod to recover the specimen or whatever. i reckon this droid might be Ash or an earlier model Ash who then does the dirty but in fact survives being the only one to ID the xeno hence the tie in with Alien and his/the company knowledge of LV426 and the eggs.

Yeah Micro that sounds reasonable to me, so you're thinking Prometheus is heading to LV426 and thats the Engineer homeworld? Am I picking you up right? Snorkel I dont think that idea is obvious at all, particularly since nobody had come up with it until now. Also it ties in with the Alphabet android Theory.

'Alien' like atmosphere and tension. Lots of gruesome Alien-esque deaths. A deeper more epic plot/mythology than the original film - The Prometheus title & the idea of 'engineers of space' hint very strongly at this. Freakish Gieger architecture & creatures (obviously)

I think she's an android, but I also think she's a red herring and that there's a third robot and more things afoot. Theron's totally been coached on what to say in this case. They've made it way too obvious that both Vickers and David are most likely our androids to throw us off of what they'll be doing there. And possibly more. One good, one evil...? That's kind of new, but there's little element of surprise since we've been led to believe that by statements like these, basically. Something's gotta be up. She's definitely a candidate for our second android but it seems like they're giving it away already... the whole point is that they're supposed to blend in. In past films it was a surprise to the audience as well as the characters when synthetics like Ash and Call were revealed. We know for sure David's a bot, and Ridley himself let us know there would be two robots.

Some form of that could be possible with all the misdirection on this project. I'd go with some sort of proto-android in that case. I'm thinking it's more likely Vickers could actually be human, and they had her lurking around in the background and acting suspicious to draw attention away from what's really going on with the other androids until the end. If she is revealed to be a robot then it seems like there would have been too many clues by the time it's discovered. Or that she does something evil early on, stealing the Promethean fire or whatever. The viewer will already be expecting it. That's why I'm expecting some sort of bigger twist after she's revealed to be whatever she is. Whether that's an android, or just some soulless corporate drone like Burke that's willing to go to extreme lengths to gain an advantage.

I think Shaw is the Android - it's down to a whacky theory thats just so crazy it just might work! Be too obvious if it was vickers anyway.

Considering how secretive the movie is thus far it seems a bit to easy to assume Vickers is an android. This would be too close to the previous movies. I would guess there are two androids but the second could be a lesser class say some kind of early military mechanical robot attached to the second ship and armed to the teeth, let loose by the company causing havoc ending in a mother of a fight with an sj xeno. The remains of this robot are left on the crashed sj ship never discovered thus far but an automatic tracking signal was activiated on it's demise. Hence Alien!

My bets are that Guy Pearce is the android, if there is a second one (based on secrecy surrounding his part). Therone is too obvious and Repace would surely not be able to have a younger self if she was an android; I can't see the female lead being an android (not repeating the mistakes from RESSURECTION). Also there may not be a second android at all; at least not a second humanoid android. Maybe there is a curve ball and the space jockeys are cyborgs - knowing that they walk around in biomechanical suits - maybe that was what Ridley was hinting at in the interviews .................

Guy PEarce part is the most well keep secrets ... regarding his part we know this 1) someone said his part is bigger of what we think ( quite reliable font ) 2) someone said he will be in heavy prosthetics ( so so reliable font ) 3) it was said that he was filming in spain ...some scenes alone with fassbender 4) could have been added to the cast later ( but can be not ) 5) he was saw many times on the set

His name is Stannison on the IMDB cast list. The prosthetics could mean anything - cut in half like Bishop OR maybe transformed in to a Jockey or Xeno?? There are loads of people listed as working on prosthetics for the film on IMDB.

SHE'S 100% AN ANDROID !!! seriously, I heard her say in an interview recently that Scott made her act like one and that for me was the kicker. "He has me lurking around in the background and corridors and that the deeper into this thing it gets the weirder it got !!! She's the other Android !!! Bank On It! & if it turns out I am wrong I'll come back and eat this post !!!

She is speaking metaphorically, by machine she means that her character works like a machine, with little care for personality. Could be wrong, but I dont think shes an android....

when I was younger my mum bought it for me from John Menzies for £3, because even back then I was an alien nut, as you've probably all guessed. I binged "Aliens door poster" and was able to find it, but I really want to get hold of a high rez version of the image.

Same here, I've been a huge fanatic of the Alien series since i've been a kid. I have huge movie banners from all the Alien movies hanging up in my room. There about 8 feet x 10 feet.

Pretty sure that is available on amazon for like 12 bucks. I'll check for a link in a bit.
