nope, to specific. The guys who came up with the actual alien title and it's integration with the sequence (appearing glyphs) where pulled in from another department in the studio and it was unique at the time to have such guys doing it.

Ridley personally went along and resprayed the corridor gunmetal grey in order to increase claustrophobia and also to match the colour of the alien, so that a lot of the ridges seen on the previously lighter and white corridors looked like the Aliens head dome. Hold on, the piecing together of the films title happens at the end - in other words the title ALIEN is the last thing we see even though it started at the beginning of the credits.
