seriously though, With Giger and Scott Having so much more creative control this time around, I say this with all due respect to all of you cause you people all know more than the average movie goer but... I really do not think most people truly understand just what these two guys have just done for FILM or the extent of just how absolutely Mind Numbingly Incredible what we are all about to see is !!! This movie is FLAT OUT going to be the best damn sci-fi flick perhaps EVER MADE and maybe, at that, one of Hollywood's all time most successful films when all is said and done!!! With these two guys having been flagged for it from the start what we have here is a Film that Cannot Fail...it just can't !!! I think These two men have just done some things that are going to BLOW ALL OF OUR MINDS AND WE ARE ALL GOING TO HAVE A NEW APPRECIATION FOR THIS ART FORM !!!

Ditto, I did too Biomechanic. But this, in a way IMO only, is different, because of the nature of the minds of the 2 men in question here and the people they surround themselves with when they do this kind of thing.

Yes, I checked it all out, but my "fav" was the Documentary you drew our attention to The first guy up is soooo cool and {was that Syd Mead?} anyways wow, what a piece of Alien Treasure that entire thing is man. I loved the story about how Hurt having a glass of wine in one hand and a smoke in the other while they were doing what he called "Open Heart Surgery with animal organs" on his chest...LMAO...and the other story about how Ridley was in the bathroom and the guy walked in and said..."Good Morning Governor", and what he would say, how hard he would laugh, if you called him that today...and it just goes on and on, seeing all the stuff they used to build the sets and seeing the derelict in his back yard...OMG, this thing is by Far the Best "Documentation" I have ever seen on any of the films. Or how about Ridley driving out of the compound one night at 11:45 PM. and seeing all of the crew leaving at the same time who were not suppose to be paid for staying late so he goes in the next morning early and blasts the suits until they relent and agree to pay every single one of them for the hours worked? Amazing "shiznit" !!! and the best part is...it's all the true story of how they made it happen

Hi all, new to the group, but certainly not the 'Alien legacy' or it's lore. There's some great theories and banter being created on this site and I can't express how much I'm looking forward to June!!! @Rick, How do we know for sure that (speaking of 'Aliens') Bishop was actually owned/'company' property. I was always under the impression that Bishop was part of the USS Sulaco's crew (or equipment rosta, if you prefer) and therefore 'property' of the military/navy? Also, how do we know that Weyland-Yutani manufacture their own synths? However adding to that last note, regardless of who manufactured which synth (be it Borgia Industries or whoever) at the end of the day in this 'world' if you like, synths are deemed as property and it's fair to say that a large firm such as 'the company' would have the ability to programme/re-programme a synth (or atleast the financial ability) to request to the supplier/manufacturer that certain perameters be programmed into their purchase before reciept.

I'll clarify, the set changed toward the end of the film because of something ridley scott did, what did he do? 5. Looking for the second chemical compound, Thadus got polystyrene so will give him a half point.

Nope, according to scott on the 1st edition alien dvd commentary (pre quadrilogy) it wasn't acetone, i would have given you nail polish remover if it was.

So.. the logo. the title sequence was unique because the it was the first time, on the idea of ridley, that the same people who worked on what also worked on the title? on question 4, lol nope he didn't change his mind, but he did do something based on the atmosphere at that point in the film, the point at which ripley started running thru the ship to get to Parker and Lambert. On question 5, nope not gasoline either.
