IRaptus - Casino Royale is a great movie. Probably you know that Quantum of Solace is the direct sequel to it. In fact, the two chapters form a movie. That is the full package. :)

However, the bad boys from Casino Royale, Quantum of Solace and Skyfall 'reappear' in Spectre (2015) - forming a fairly exciting unit of films. Spectre reveals everything in the background. I love its 'snowy scenes'. So I'd say that is the ultimate package. :D

If I know well, Craig returns for the fifth one/his last one. That will be the first 'independent' Bond movie for him - and for us as well, of course.

That is pretty good. I always thought it would be neat to have 90 minutes worth of shorts done by different people in one collection.

To tell the truth, I wasn't scared s...less when I watched this remake but it's OK. 8)

One reason why games like that- Goldeneye, Perfect Dark, Turok 2, were so special was they were very well done at the time and really good FPS were less common.

BigDave haha yes when your split-screen view was just barely larger than a modern smartphone screen. Trying to stop the other players looking on your split to know where you were, and what you were up to was the definition of frustration XD

BigDave - And we shouldn't forget the two huge heads carved in the rock face seen at the end of Alien Covenant. If you remember our discussion some months ago, you discovered that they look like the Engineers in the opening scene of Prometheus.

Interesting topic.

Ridley did say that those 6 head statues represent six elders of the entire civilization: Artists, intellects, wise men. Since those stone heads were also referred to the hierarchy, I also noticed some head statues were depicted as younger Engineers while some were depicted as much older Engineers.

Some of those head statues appeared in David's lab, which was hard to see.

Could it be that each head statue in the hall of heads represents a class of Engineers?

I believe Ridley Scott made it perfectly clear that elements of the Watchers biblical history were inspiration for the Engineers. That part of the story sure romanced me. Paradise Lost elements seen across Alien: Covenant (not to mention it's previously held title of Alien: Paradise Lost) are very clear and Scott himself continues to reference the poem's concepts.

This theme transcends Alien: Covenant (below) into Prometheus (Dr. Shaw's notes) and Alien with the speculation that LV-223 and LV-426 are related to Bible verses in Leviticus. Well covered here but certainly related to the overall topic above.

I do believe the Hall of Heads holds a religious significance to the Engineers and David has smeared filth across the holy of holies in the Engineer temple. Planet 4/Paradise may not have been the Engineer "Vatican City" but it sure looked close to it. And someone is going to be upset about the change to it brought on by David and his works.

I'm afraid they will form an Artificial Actor's Guild and start demanding more rights and privileges for their participation in my film. I have to admit that I don't know what I'd do if they went on strike. Our relationship has been rather calm up to this point. Yes, not without a couple of arguments and clarifications but my relationship with the Artificial Actors has been calm overall.

All of the sound effects were from iMovie so it was as close as I could get. I'm not trying to be a single person Pixar so it will look low budget but hopefully the writing will make up for that. And evolving skills towards the final product...pretty easy to see I'm learning as I go on the graphics end.

I had to use a general "roar" in the sound effects because iMovie didn't have "Engineer scream from mote swarm infection" in the selection criteria.

I think this was always going to be the Problem and a Problem with the Franchise in General, no matter how you try and expand or explore the Alien Universe most people will associate it with ALIEN and associate ALIEN with Eggs, Face Huggers, Chest Bursters and then the Big Guy (Xenomorph)

The Reason for doing a Prequel Original was this..  That NO movie ever addressed the following.

*Who was the Space Jockey?

*Where was he going and where did he come from?

*What was he doing with that Cargo?

*Where did that Cargo come from?

Some fans expected the Answers to these had to involve the following.

*Where did those Eggs Come from?

*What happened to the Space Jockey?

The 2nd of these is answered by studying the Movie, the Space Jockey was infected with the Cargo.

So RS had attempted to answer those Questions, and yet the answers to a degree was there and RS had explained them way prior to the Prequels.

*The Xenomorph was a Bio-Weapon

*The Space Jockey was Piloting a Ship Carrying these Weapons.

*He got infected with the Cargo.

We thus had it that the Space Jockey was connected to the Cargo, as a Bio-Weapon, his ship was a Biological Warfare Cargo Ship, or even Bomber, so we know the Space Jockey Race was behind the Xenomorph.   

What we never knew was..

*Why did he have the Cargo, where was he going, who was the TARGET?

*Where did he come from, what WAR was he involved in and WHY create that Weapon?

*How was that Weapon Created, what Origin did those EGGS come from?

Its these 3 Questions that was the main Focus on doing the Prequel, and during the Process of this they had decided to give more BACKGROUND to the Space Jockey because we know nothing about HIM his Race, their Purpose/Agenda or Origin.   So the Reveal of the ENGINEER race was the Focus, and they came up with a Broad Plot for WHO these beings were and then WHY they created/intended to use those Xenomorph EGGS.

Indeed Alien Engineers was the outcome of this, and it covered the Xenomorph Origins but kind of loosely,  and at some point FOX felt that we had actually seen Xenomorphs over and over, but the Space Jockey/Engineers was something NEVER done and was interesting and more Focus on them and Humans and our Creation too David was needed, and to tone down the Xenomorph clues and not include any Xenomorphs because they felt it was not needed.

This is when Prometheus became a Loose Prequel, were it toned down the Xenomorph, but still tried to show us the Beast is connected as a Bio-Weapon to those Engineers, and that LV-223 was connected to the Xenomorph Origin but they did not Spoon Feed the exact step by step process or show us the actually event that leads to the Eggs Creation, or Loading on the Derelict etc.

So Prometheus was a loose Prequel, it provided or attempted to provide sufficient clues to the Xenomorph, but also leaving some Mystery surrounding it...  And it was the Engineers and the Agenda, the WHY as the most important thing to explore.   The Plans appeared to be to set up a sequel that would Steer Away from ALIEN.

RS had said Prometheus was set in the same universe, it would uncover the beings who created the Xenomorph and WHY but it would not directly connect us to ALIEN however a lot of Fans simply could not grasp the concept and felt any movie set in the ALIEN universe has to connect to the Xenomorph and ALIEN

FOX took this onboard and thus changed Prometheus 2 to a NEW Alien Prequel where they will now directly lead us to the Xenomorph Creation and HOW/WHY/WHEN that Cargo of Eggs ended up on the Derelict.

By going this route and how it handled the Engineers, it now kind of diminishes the Engineers Role and maybe how many of them are ALIVE, while Spoon Feeding us the Xenomorph but now with some Curveball idea that has displeased most Alien Franchise Fans.

They could have carried on with steering away from ALIEN and those EGGS but if they took this route, some Alien Fans would complain that the Movie has NO answers and NO Xenomorphs. Yet not realizing that the Prometheus Sequel would be about the Engineers and Mankind and not the essentially Bio-Weapon used to Destroy us.  It would set up a NEW Franchise, thats set in the same universe but not a ALIEN Franchise Movie.

FOX however took on board some of the criticism and saw the interest in Blomkamps Alien 5 and felt that going back to a ALIEN movie and linking to ALIEN is what Fans want and what would make the most $$$$$$$

But some fans now want more ENGINEERS, so its going to be harder to bring them into it, and follow the literal direct path to ALIEN only as far as now the Engineers will be via their Ship perhaps no more than a PLOT Device.

Had FOX stuck with RS and not gave into Fan Pressure, we could have had SO MUCH MORE and yet eventually had more clues to Answer ALIEN .... but alas

I dont think making BR and Alien in the same universe is a good idea, they should be kept as their own separate Franchises.

As Red0guy pointed out the Replicants are Biological Creations, they are just Engineered and not the creation of Natural Procreation.

We in Science now are Creating Humans with 3 Parents, how long before Science unlocks the ability to artificially turn a Female Egg Cell into a Fetus with no SPERM but imprinting the Genetics that a Sperm would pass onto to a Egg?  While also then Manipulating Genes so we can make a Designer Baby, and remove Genetic Flaws and Manipulate it to have the Best of Human Traits, We could then be looking at Creating a Human Clone, that has the most attractive Human Characteristics, with Genetic Markers to allow it to become Physically and Mentally superior to most Humans.

ONCE we achieve something like this, that is Born without a Father but via Genetic Manipulation we would create the near Perfect Human being and in affect this would be a AI because it would not have been created Naturally.

People do seem to think AI has to mean something constructed from Synthetic Materials and a Machine/Robot but that does not have to be the case... WHY i am willing to bet the LV-223 Engineers will be revealed as a AI too.

They spoon fed the Xenomorph and then with the restraints on Run-Time meant it could not be done justice...

In Hindsight the movie needed a extra 15 min plus...

It needed to have Oram get Face Hugged but not Chest Bursted but carried to the Ship by Walter (David) have the Lander Scene replace the Xenomorph with the other Neomorph.

Walter (David) takes Oram to a Medical Bay and informs Daniels, Lope and Tennessee that he is kept under observation and Quarantine but it appears he is not infected with the Virus, but appeared to have been attacked and that David was angry because Oram killed the Neomorph and Walter found Oram knocked out.

We could hint that hours had past, and Walter (David) reports that Oram is fine, even having Daniels see him awake hours after getting onto the Covenant and THUS ruling out the Fast Acting Infection that had infected Hallet and Ledwood,  Daniels would not Question Walter (David) and she would see Oram is ok and not showing signs of the Neomorph Infection.   So Walter (David) puts Oram into Cryo-sleep.

Walter (David) wishes to then get the others well most to Cryo-Sleep.

During this time, we could see Oram Chest Busted, then allows more time to have the Xenomorph go on a rampage and killing Lope in addition to Upworth and Ricks and so it would allow the Covenant Xenomorph Scenes to have like 3X longer and make it more like ALIEN rather than the Rush Job we got.

These Changes however would make it more obvious earlier on that Walter is David, but then i assume most people would have gathered this way before the actual reveal anyway.

I have not played the Game all the way through, i hardly get motivated to do much last few years as far as watching stuff and playing games...  I had played it as far as where you had to hide away from those TWO Humans who then chase you down and shoot you lol

But i get the rough idea, and so while i DONT think a Direct Game would be good, because well how do you Re-tell the Game to Screen as those who have played the Game would know the Plot and if the Movie changes things a lot, what does that mean for the Game.

But certainly a Movie set after the Events of Alien Isolation or prior that would tie the Game into Canon would be something interesting to explore.

Alien 5 aka Alien Awakening, was intended IMO to just give us a Alternative Direction.

so we have Aliens end in 2179 and then with Blomkamps idea what we have is TWO Alternative Time-lines.

1) Alien 3 where Eggs/Face Huggers got onto the Sulaco and infected Ripley and one got on the Evacuation Ship. 

2) A alternative were no one was infected on the Sulaco and the ship made it back to our Solar System where Ripley, Hicks and Newt would try and continue with a normal life for 20+ years before the events of Blomkamps Alien Awakening Occurs.

It would offer fans a choice of which route they preferred and even would allow fans to consider both as alternative routes and enjoy them, while it would not Force fans of Alien 3 to accept that movie is not canon, but it allows fans who did not like Alien 3 to get a alternative sequel.

The only issue i have is this idea would just suit Fanboys and be Fan-service but also its being left a bit to long and maybe is a idea thats 5 years too late.  If Blomkamps idea was implemented instead of Prometheus in 2012 i think it could have worked.

Each year that passes the Surviving Cast of Aliens gets older and since Prometheus came out it offered us something NEW and Expanded the Universe and i feel this should be were we should be going and not Resurrecting Ripley, Hicks and Newt.

My Biggest concern is Miss Weaver, her comments to me seem to suggest she would want as much input into the Movie than RS would want in any movie he is part of.  Her comments seem to point towards actually there is the potential to make more than ONE Aliens sequel where its all about Ripley, Newt, Hicks and BISHOP...  how they going to explain a Synthetic Aging 30 years+ 

I feel at present (unless Prequels plan to answer/discount these) then there are a number of avenues between the Time-Line of 2105-2179 where Xenomorph's and Xenomorph like Monsters can be Resurrected without affecting the Alien Franchise or Prequels.

IF you received Davids Olive Branch from the Advent Viral, what do you do as Hierarchy of Weyland-Yutani?

*Send out a Mission to intercept or arrive at Origae-6 which likely could mean arriving after David and the Covenant ship arrives?

*With the information David sends, can the company pinpoint the location David sent this from? or find out where the Covenant had re-routed its course (Planet 4) as surely Planet 4 is much closer to Earth than Origae-6

*Knowing what David sends, he has basically informed the company that its from LV-223 that has allowed him to embark on his Creations, so surely with LV-223 being much closer than Origae-6 the company would investigate there!

So it makes NO sense for the Company to just send missions to Oriage-6  without investigating LV-223 and maybe Planet 4,  and within context of the Franchise (unless RS plans a Alien Sequel Re-boot) we have to ask what becomes of LV-223, Planet 4, Origae-6 by the time of Aliens in 2179

So these are areas a Parallel Alien movie could take place. And why not ask Blomkamp for some ideas for the Story and Visual look of such a Movie?

I'd like that. Probably not a movie...Just a web series or Netflix. Get permission to use the Covenant Space Jockey set...and do something....even if it's wrong!

I'd also like to hear Sigourney in a Alien radio drama....get Fassbender and have Ripley meet David after she was rescued from the Narcissus. Before she was sent on the Aliens trip.

Thousands of stories could be made easily with audio dramas(no make up...no huge set$$...any time)
