@craigamore Then again we can't really tell if the derelict crashing is the end of the movie/story. Maybe they manage to stop the Jockeys from destroying Earth but Vickers still want to bring back life form, enters the half-destroyed derelict, intentionally infects herself in hope she would survive through cryo sleep on the way home to Earth. She has become obsessed with the fact they have encountered God matter that she would sacrifice herself so that the God DNA would survive through her. Psychotic, suicidal but determined, like many of today's CEOs. OK, that's all caffeine, but who knows?

True Snorky......but I don't see the whole injection thing @Engr101....We know she's there when the derelict is crashing...other than her and Shaw, we don't see anyone else and that's, presumably, near the end of the film...Vickers injecting herself and becoming a creature doesn't fit with that kind of chronological sequence.

That said the mohawk guy could be likened to brett - mohawk guy seemingly mutates, while brett was mutated into an egg (directors cut).

Vickers is the Queen of Darkness, the CEO of the company (the character Weyland could be the founder type, the Steve Jobs of the company, visionary but powerless). It is widely speculated that Vickers goes all obsessed with power & inject/infect herself with God matter and becomes one of the Creatures. Theron also plays another Evil Queen in SNOW WHITE & THE HUNTSMEN, a big budget Universal movie released 1 week before PROMETHEUS. It's gonna be Theron's summer.

We might be looking at this a little too similarly to 'Alien'.......remember, Vickers, for all intents and purposes [b]IS[/b] the company...isn't she? I mean, I thought she was at the top of the corporate food chain....there's still a lot to learn about her, but with that said, it's likely that she has total operational command and there would be no need for alterior motives as this is an exploratory mission intended to examine and aquire rather than the Nostromo, which was a commercial vessel commanded to iniate a search and rescues of sorts to investigate a signal......I'm sure there will be some elements corporate greed, but it would seem that 'Prometheus' may be less about that nefarious angle and more about man's unpreparedness in facing what he finds out there in the Black.. What I'm getting at is I think our leaping Mohawk dude is more comparable to Ash, in the way he loses conrol and attacks the crew.....

Well David seems benign and free from any ulterior motives implanted by the Company. Vickers, (Charlize Theron's Character), seems like a cold, calculating corporate tool, who is responsible for achieving the Company's nefarious plans - much like Ash in "Alien"

Basic anything forms....who knows................

Excellent observation @craigamore regarding the different sizes of the ampules! I double checked a still from the trailer and lo, they are differently sized! I wonder if the ampules hold the raw shapes for different organisms that exist on earth? Like a Space Jockey version of Noah's Ark? So that shot of David pulling something out of the the ampule they brought back are the basic frog and toad forms?

Wouldn't it be... David ~ Ash ...seeing as they are both androids/synthetics?

Intervesting.......berry intervesting........ I don't know......love speculating though..... What intrigues me about any approach to the ampule room, you have ampules of multiple sizes, implying variation of some kind.....how does that play out in the "all about everything school"/grand scheme of things where "things that appear to be small, will turn out to be enormous."

I can see me going to the cinema a couple of times to see this. I haven't been this excited about a film coming out in a long time.

This is just theory/speculation but... 65 million years ago the Space Jockey's visit Earth and see it overrun by the dinosaurs. Knowing the dinosaurs will never evolve into an intelligent race they unleash the Xenomorphs upon the Earth. When only the eggs remain they are collected and the Space Jockey's leave the Earth alone for, lets say, 64 million years. Upon returning the Space Jockey's see that mammals are now the dominant species, and upon looking at the apes realise there is a race suitable of becoming intelligent. One sub-species of ape is "manipulated" genetically and eventually evolves into Homo-Sapiens, us. Fast forward to Prometheus - We find evidence of the Space Jockey's on Earth that leads us to a distant star system. Upon arrival we uncover the truth as already explained, but we also discover that genetically we are evolving away from our ape ancestors and slowly toward the DNA of the Space Jockey's. We are destined to become them, replace them... we are their heirs.

That would be kind of cool. Could be like what everyone has been speculating about regarding the Annunaki. They could be the missing link to our genome similarity with the previous hominids.

Could be. Or they could be one and the same thing, what if the blue guy is a highly evolved human, what if we are clones of the Space Jockeys/Engineers. Imagine David checks the vials from the ampule and finds human DNA, and then when studying the Space Jockey head/helmet they also find human DNA.

@Ripley Clone 8 you may have hit on something there? If comedians can fill stadiums with 10,000+ fans I'm sure a forward thinking movie studio could come up with a venue! They'd fill it with eager prometheus accolites. If I was a PR guy I'd push for an Alien Fest, culminating with the premier of Prometheus,how cool would that be? assuming it is an Alien prequel? But lets not go there!!! eh.....repeat thread and all that!!! Ha Ha

Why does the head have to be human? I mean the blue guy has a human face, but he's not human. It could be their genetic material.

I believe it is human genetic material in the ampules because they are found in a room with a big, giant human head! David studies it and the humans realise the truth, we didn't evolve we were created, by the Space Jockeys, the big question is why?

One of them is Mr Scott talking to an actor who is obviously the guy who leaps off the trailer - mohawk, burnt face and so on. Now... unless Edna Mode designed the space suit for him, and it stretches to size, I'd say that he is definitely NOT a member of the Prometheus crew that has "transformed" in any way.

Pretty much my views too there Rick. Weyland Corp use the "fire" they stole from the Space Jockeys/Engineers to become numero uno in the mega-corporation future spreading their influence far and wide, merging with their number one competitor and scouring the galaxy for more Space Jockey/Engineer technology, which is probably where the sequel(s) to Prometheus will go...

Or maybe scott wanted to update the look of the derelict, he was never happy with the way the one in Alien looked. We wont know either way until the film comes out.

Hey Guys, Nah if we go strictly off the premise of Alien then the company knew about the xeno, sj, engineers. This I could see peaking the company interest to merge for more resources to steal the tech from the "gods". That's probably how they come about the terraforming tech and through that they learn of the bio weapon. This is all pretty much common "speculation" knowledge these days. Regards, Rick
