i'm going to guess, that said bald guy
is the mutated version of the android "David"
now before you all come at with baseball bats and tire chains,
i'm giving what i feel could possibly be that imposing looking figure
who appears to have activated that awesome looking bio-mechanical
turret / chair / structure thingy
granted, i'm going by visuals here,
and although most would say that giant pale bald figure looks NOTHING
like Fassbender, i am drawing my conclusion based on what i have read
regarding Fassbender's "David" possibly transforming, given that he was
in all too close in proximity and he handled the bio-former substance
(that viscous ochre looking goop)
i can't wait to either be proven wrong - - or proven correct when i see the film
June can't get here fast enough. argh!

How can an android be mutated?, I mean doesn't it have to be biological to be mutated where as androids are basically machines and don't have any DNA to mutate. For me, the big fella is an unsuited jockey/engineer.
ReplyGavinPrometheus ForumBaldyJan 22, 2012
I agree with theusprom (no really I do), I don't think it is David mutated from touching the magic snot.
My theory is that the tall guy is a messenger for the Space Jockeys to communicate with us that has been made using our DNA, kinda think of him as what we'll look like in a few thousand years or so. Thats my theory.
ReplyshardyPrometheus ForumBaldyJan 22, 2012
i would think that a species that is as far advanced as the Engineers seem to be,
that the bioformer material can generate something organic from something synthetic,
then again, i am not certain, but perhaps the "David" android might have some form
of organic / human or biological technology in his overall construction and makeup,
that the bioformer material can use to mutate him as i suggested
again, i am just hypothesizing here
@Theusprom: nice profile pic. it's been a while since i'd seen "Snake Plissken"

Very interesting takes on things guys....now that you've all set the table, I have a few opinions of my own so...don't crucify me if they're too far out there.
1st off @shardy, I agree with the likely possibilty you suggest that Fassbender's character will be altered by the bioformer...but not with the result you suggest. It would seem to me that the genetic material makes him more human than human....hence the blood seen on his finger in the ComicCon trailer. I don't believe he turns into Baldy.
2nd, I see two possibilites with Baldy...either he's a SpaceJockey, watching the chair rise out of the floor so that he can dawn the suit required to sit in that chair, hence the suit theory......

....or he's a member of the rumored engineer race, as has been suggested, a second race beside the SpaceJockeys.
In either case, I believe he's one of them rather than human because, if you closely examine the 40ft. monolithic head, you can see a lateral line running across its face that is also present on a closeup up our friend Baldy....

So there you have it...my opinions...have at it....and thanks for providing so many interesting ideas.
ReplyGreatBoosUpPrometheus ForumBaldyJan 22, 2012
I agree with shardy. Does the word "biomechanical" mean anything to anyone? I think the bioformer in the ampules as the ability to mutate just about anything and animated it as well.
ReplyshardyPrometheus ForumBaldyJan 22, 2012
i see your point Craigamore. i just figured the advanced science of the Engineers
could work it's formula, and the end result would be "David" becomes "human"
then more than human
after all, isn't EVERYTHING that we know formed by something organic?
even "synthetic" compositions were birthed from something that was once organic
in one form or another? i'm ain't no scientist, i'm just speculating about the power
of the Engineers capabilities in regards to the bioformer / transformative ability
NICE images there Craigamore!
me likes! and the new International PROMETHEUS
poster was just released, even cooler than the first! woo hooo!
thanx GreatBoosUp, you seem to get my speculative logic
ReplyStarbeastPrometheus ForumBaldyJan 22, 2012
Well if David's going to turn human then they need to change the title from Prometheus to Pinnochio. But the idea is growing on me.

Another new guy?
Cool
It seems to be the general consensus that the blue guy in the corner is a mutated human.
Either that or he's an extra for Avatar and he turned up on the wrong set!

I think your trying to show us this guy....

I started a thread last night about him entitled, 'Baldy', check it out...lots of cool theories.
I'm more interested at the moment with what's goin' on with this guy.....

Who knows what craziness Ridley has headed our way...........
ReplyGreatBoosUpPrometheus ForumSpace Jockey can be seen in the trailerJan 22, 2012
I think the guy in the space jockey room is really Holloway, Noomi's love interest, who have been mutated by whatever's in the ampules. The guy leaping from ceiling in the trailer is an example of this too.

That sounds very cool, nice one!
I wasn't old enough to enjoy this at the cinema first time around (I was 10 in 1979) and always rue the fact.

You're right, it was only his second feature, the first being 'The duellists'.
You are one lucky bugger, lol
Theus, I wasnt even born in '79, lol.

I know, lol. some of the folks on here are as ancient as the space Jockey race and all it's mysteries, to me, lol
I'm just kidding, I'm far more mature and wise than my age lets on. and that's a good thing in this day and age. I left naivete at the door a long time ago.
Until now, come on Ridley, bring on the masterpiece we all know is going to inspire a new century of Science fiction writers and directors.

Thats so cool, kind like them magic eye pictures, but easier
ReplyGehirnPrometheus ForumGiger Baphomet in 3DJan 22, 2012
Ouch. It's not too bad when you focus on one part of the "third" pic. But when your eyes get used to staying in that focus and you can look around, that's when the pain comes!
Reply BiomechanicPrometheus ForumGiger Baphomet in 3DJan 22, 2012
It will only get easier and less painful with practice. : ) I had a view setup in maya with 2 perspective shots and use to freeview for hours while modeling. Now it is automatic, anytime I see 2 pictures my brain just crosses my eyes. It is really annoying though if the pictures turn out not to be a crosseyed stereograms.

ReplyPerfectOrganism2Prometheus ForumTwo QuestionsJan 22, 2012
I'm led to believe that the original Com-Con video will be the new trailer. I'm not sure how credible that info is but it would be so cool to see the 'Alien' pregnant belly swelling scene.
Maybe they used underwater techniques to acclimatise the actors to movements in a simulated non gravity environment.
ReplyPerfectOrganism2Prometheus ForumVery, very cool.Jan 22, 2012
Fantastic imagery. I'm learning, albeit slowly, to doddle in this sort of stuff myself.

"PO2"
the trick is you need to do one more step.
you cannot use a picture off your PC you have to post that picture first to a Free picture Hosting web site such as this one...Photobucket PhotoBucket
Once you take the 2 minutes maximum it takes to create a new account there...Upload your pic...when it finishes uploading you can click on it and a new screen will appear showing that pic in it;s original size and it also gives you 5 or 6 lines of code so you can share the pic on the net...the 2nd line of code is called "direct link"...copy that link...then go back to your post and in the spot where you want to post it... click the picture icon across the top bar of the editing window and a window will pop up for you where you need to paste in that direct code you just got from your pic at Photobucket. That's it That's all bro !!!
