God is an alien he's certainly not human who or whatever the great architect is. Anyone who's experienced serious psychedelic inner space can have some startling theories on this. You really can travel to new dimensions without leaving your chair or bed . Just like the legendary spice in dune.

Not all religious people are morons who can't think for themselves, btw. Anyway, it seems like the ancient astronaut theory, or whatever name you want it give it, isn't exactly a new idea anymore. I'm not going to protest against this movie anymore than I would protest against the History Channel for making Ancient Aliens. Just because I don't agree with something doesn't mean it can't be interesting or thought provoking.

@ zk24 I respect your opinion....at least u don't just slant the movie cause it does not necessarily follow your beliefs...my mother and many friends and relatives are all very Religious...personally I do not believe....but i am open minded enough to admit that i might even be wrong..... I am not an atheist .....I believe in an afterlife and even a God...i do not believe in the bible at all!...that i think makes me an Agnostic....I don't have faith....I need proof! But each to his own....the basis of this thread is weather we think that the plot will generate any religious controversy....in the end it is pure fiction....so it really shouldn't....if their is an outcry....I hope it's nothing to serious..... hopefully!

Will be sure that many beliefs system will feel threatened by the fact some one is showing other options. Hollywood is an enormous propagandistic machine that we cannot understimate.

I am a believer and I'm not afraid of this movie offending me. My faith is what it is and nothing's going to change that. It's a movie, one I happen to be excited beyond my wildest dreams for. And besides...The idea of life existing outside of our own, even intelligent life, has never been objectionable to me. The two ideas are not mutually exclusive. If aliens descended tomorrow in flying saucers on the lawn of the White House...I'd still believe in God. If ideas in 'Prometheus' suggested the absence of God...fine, it's a movie. Why get all upset and let an idea get under your skin that much?

I'm an atheist and I will openly admit that I am slightly disturbed with some of the choices of this film. I'm not really offended by the creationism idea as a whole, I'm more ill from that idea mixing with the universe of the Alien movie. It's like the AvP films all over again with a different recipe. This movie in my eyes could be better in two ways... It could either ignore the Alien universe all together and tell its own story of how man was created by these ancient aliens (which is what I would prefer) or it could ignore the theory entirely and instead go into what was responsible for the events in Alien. But rather then choose one of those two, Ridley has picked both. :( It's two great things in one movie, Ridley hit two birds with one stone. I don't know about you guys but to me that's overkill and definitely a lot to take in, little too much for my taste, though I'm sure I will still enjoy the movie. Try to understand that I'm not attacking creationism or anyone's beliefs.

If you are in Switzerland, don't miss a visit to Gruyere. Appart from the well-known cheese speciality, take a look to the Giger museum. Just approaching to its entry sends shivers down your spine. By the way, I remember an old PC Game named Dark Seed, which whose graphical design was done by H.R. Giger. If you feel nostalgic, just start playing it. You won't be deceived...

yeah, I've been seeing this quote floating around in Prometheus articles lately. It wouldn't surprise me one bit if in a couple years or so Ridley Scott begins to start his pre-production on the 2nd prequel to the Alien series. I think it would focus mainly on the Space Jockey's and how there people learn, grow and become a species. Where there home planet is and how and why they did what they did as a race. That would be a pretty epic movie considering maybe almost none of it will focus on humans but on the Space Jockey's themselves. Thats how I at least see the 2nd prequel coming out, if there ever will be one.

he said nothing about how they "learn, grow and became a race". that would be such an idiotic movie on the level of lord of the rings. i think he has better sense than to remove the mystery to appease fans who want everything mouth fed to them.

No way we ever have a movie only about the SJ home world. We've might get a glimpse someday. 1) A whole movie only about the SJ would be weird and cheesy, expensive and remove all the mystery that keeps us wanting more. 2) We are assuming the SJ or whatever's in the suit HAS a home world. We don't know that. Maybe they are homeless and have this crazy craving to create and or destroy planets.... We just don't know.

remember, this is a modern day mythology. scott has to let us use our imaginations. plus i still think all these scenes with the chair, the ufo by the waterfall etc are going to be in flashbacks somehow.

Nope, i think you are right. I also see them. And somehow i have a feeling that those are rather statues and not suits.

Now that I can see them on both sides of the hallway I'm convinced they are statue's, and the hall either leads to the telescope room or the big head room if its in the temple

I tried to enhance it but the original picture quality is very poor and I wasn't able to do much with it.
