Hey USHBUCK,
What exactly….is troubling you? Rather than just responding to your seemingly frustrated comments, I’m trying to understand where exactly it is you’re coming from. To this member, your comments come off as attention seeking and contrived. So, giving you the benefit of my very serious doubts, would you please explain your points of view further?
Thanks,

Welcome it !!!! I found it repulsive pal. I also found it very gratifying to see Noomi get her revenge on the sick bastard that did it to her. I did not like Girl with the Dragoon Tatoo because it had a rape scene in it I like it because it was a great movie and her acting was flawless.

just as i cannot watch avp requium because of the infant scenes and pregnant scenes. as a father i just cant watch those scenes. as a woman or as someone that has been through that i would agree. plus how many movies dont have some kind of sex in them. reminds me of the eightys slasher flicks. just make something original
ReplyGame Over Man!Prometheus ForumRAPE SCENE?Jan 10, 2012
I for one do not like the thought of a rape scene in this movie. If there is hopefully it will not be very graphic. LIke one posted earlier hearing it would be graphic enough for me! I could live with a brief silouette scene maybe as well. I can not understand why a couple posters are excited and welcome this. That is very disturbing!

my point exactly, your imagination makes things so much more scarrier. take the acutal movie alien. how many times do you see the beast. but how much more frightening it was than aliens. thats how you scare people

I’m a women, and I have to agree with deadcell about the pregnant scene in avp. The movie was as bad, and that part just proved how bad it was. As some have stated, I too miss the movies that showed less and left it to your mind as to what happened. I use to be terrified to watch a scary movie. Until my sister showed how dull the movies are becoming. People want blood, sex, rape, etc. I want real acting, less cgi, more live sets with live on sight locations. I love those kinds of movies because people can act with what is around vs. having to be told what is around them. In the last 3 years I have been to the movies about ten times. Only one movie I really liked was Devil. I was scared to watch the whole time because I didn’t know what horrors happened until the lights came on. But before I get carried away I really can’t wait to see this film. I talked about this movie so much that my sister bought all the alien movies.

I just watched a documentary on he making of the Toho films and this point was brought up in it. Eventually CGI and Real Animatronix and miniatures will mix in a way that will benefit but right now.....I agree. As I said earlier, anybody that can truly say they are excited, turned on or enjoy seeing rape on film is a sociopath. I do not mean that lightly either. You are sick and you probably need pounded into salt a few times.

AvP is real shame to Alien theme...! My view..! Last one -Predators..totally shit..! I don't uderstand why someone put together Aliens and Predators..!?
ReplyGavinAlien Movies ForumAVP, AVPR & Predators - Your OpinionsJan 10, 2012
Well, having started this thread a week ago I think its time i added my opinions...
AVP - Good premise, good idea, doesn't interfere too much with whats considered canon. But, bad direction, really bad acting, Predators were too bulky and plastic looking, Aliens were better. Never dwelled long enough on characters or ideas.
AVPR - Again good premise, good idea, but completely ignored canon. Bad direction and editing, acting was better, but not much. Predator was kick ass (toughest to date) but the aliens were background characters. Predalien, meh, would be more acceptable without the "teenage queen element".
On a side note - I think the production values were back to front with AVP and AVPR, each would have benefited from the others production values. AVP should have been darker and low key, and AVPR should have been a bit more extravagent and higher values.
Predators - Started of well, became formulaic - essentially copying the first. Nice idea with the black predators feuding, and their different rules, but I felt only some of the characters shouldn't have been there (Russian and Isabelle). Added to the franchise, but not by much.
ReplyGuestAlien Movies ForumAVP, AVPR & Predators - Your OpinionsJan 10, 2012
I was really let down by AVP. I didn't like the connection to ancient astronauts even though that was what originally piqued my interest. Pyramids are cool, but these pyramids didn't look ancient and the story was just not believable at all. You can take something like a facehugger in ALIEN and make it look so creepy and alive and then you can make a facehugger fly thru the air in slow-motion, matrix style with it's little proboscis thingy visible and just ruin it completely. Especially with a ridiculously short incubation period. AVP felt rushed like a saturday morning cartoon. If I were to watch any of the other AVP movies, I'd have to be drinking prior to agreeing anyway and I'd have to be drinking during the movie. I am not trying to be a snob, but there you have it... when it comes to ALIEN I guess I am.
Maybe a xenomorph and a predator are an even match in a fight, idk, but the predator is nowhere as brilliant and as alien as the xenomorph if that makes sense. I think of predators as a race of extraterrestrial beings and I think of xenomorphs as a symbol for a lot of different things. Predators are kinda cool in a way and I'm okay with them existing in the same universe, I guess, but the same way that "Archturians" exist in ALIENS, you know... just briefly mentioned.
I loved both ALIEN and ALIENS and I love Predator. Predator 2 not so much. I guess I should watch Predators... maybe next time I want to drink. A lot.
To sum it up:
Alien=Amazing (changed my life)
Aliens=Cool
Predator=Cool
Predator2=meh
Aliens+Predators=NOT COOL!!

Well guys, call me modest, but I did not expect such an overwhelming reaction to this story. I humbly accept your praise. Although I feel it only right to add that being an author has been somewhat of a pipe-dream for me for 20 years now.
This next installment is a small one, but it wraps up the second act of the story, enjoy...
Hours later in the cell, Call lies on the top bunk of one of the bunk beds facing the wall, her eyes wide open, unable to sleep. Unsettled by Ripley 8’s behaviour since their reunion she turns over now facing the door. There, silhouetted against the doors glass panel Call notices Ripley 8 watching her. At first, this unsettles Call, but she does not know why, then in a whispered, broken voice, “Ripley, are you feeling better?”
Ripley 8 just stands there, continuing her unbroken, unseen gaze before slowly, silently stepping toward Call. Mere inches from Calls face, Ripley 8 whispers almost hissing, “I see things clearly…now!”
Apprehensive, Call stutters, “What, what, what do you mean?”
Ripley 8 Looks over her shoulder towards the door to their cell and then back to Call, “I think it’s time to leave.”
As if on cue, both Vriess and Johner turn towards Ripley 8 and Call, eager to leave.
The Doctor, sat in a high back leather chair in his own office taps a sequence of keys on the keyboard on the desk in front of him. Displayed on the screen are the records for the crew of the USCSS Nostromo.

Here we are, the beginning of the end. The third act begins, time to heat things up and kill some characters...
Bang. Bang. The two synthetic soldiers guarding the cell turn to face each other and then the door. The first synthetic soldier raises its weapon as the second presses a button, opening the door. Reaching its hand down the panel the second synthetic soldier activates the lights in the room. After the initial blinding glare of the lights subsides the two synthetic soldiers see Call violently thrashing on the floor, vomiting white fluid and reaching for chest. The synthetic soldiers rush to Calls aid ignoring the fact that beside Call only Vriess and Johner can be seen.
As the synthetic soldiers crouch down in front of Call she stops thrashing and looks at them, almost comically, “Hey you guys!”
Behind them Ripley 8 punches an arm into each, reaches inside and grabs their spines housing their neural relays before crushing them, deactivating the synthetic soldiers. Johner picks up the two assault rifles as Call and Vriess each grab a sidearm from their lifeless former jailors.
Ripley 8, her arms free grabs one of the assault rifles from Johner and checks the corridor outside the cell. Signalling all is clearly Ripley 8 leads her friends down the corridor and opens a door. Heading down the next corridor Johner, now running alongside Ripley 8 sees a sign signalling the way to the hangar. He points his assault rifle at the sign and Ripley 8 nods. Following the direction from the sign the group reach a large double door labelled ‘Hangar’. Ripley moves over to the switch by the side of the door, throwing her assault rifle to Johner, Vriess and Call behind him, their sidearm’s raised.
As the double doors open two synthetic soldiers, posted either side turn to face each other as Johner steps forward, pointing the barrels of assault rifles at each of the synthetic soldiers heads. BANG. An explosion of white liquid, and white leathery components as the now headless bodies of the synthetics soldiers slump to the ground like abandoned dolls.
Catching her assault rifle from Johner Ripley 8 opens fire on a small team of synthetic soldiers as they raise the security alarm. Call joins Ripley 8 in occupying the enemy as Vriess and Johner open the cargo bay door of the Raven, the ship that transported them to the station, and enter within.
The Doctor is jolted awake by the sound of klaxons as the door to his office opens. The Major, alert and angry, “They’re trying to escape, you stay here, I’ll sort this out.”
In response the Doctor merely nods.
Back in the Hangar Ripley 8 and Call continue to exchange gunfire with the synthetic soldiers as Johner shouts at Vriess inside the Raven’s cockpit, “I thought you said you knew how to fly this thing?”
Vriess, panicking at all the buttons, levers and switches, “I do, I do, I just need to find…” he trails of, the plethora of choice overwhelming him.
“This is going to be the Betty all over again!” Johner exclaims.
“Shut up monkey boy!” Vriess presses in a big red plunger.
Outside, protected by cover of big metal cargo boxes Ripley 8 and Call turn their attention to the Raven as its rear thrusters ignite and the armed transport itself detaches from its docking clamps, hovering in place. Call turns to Ripley 8, shouting over the roar of the Ravens thrusters, “Better get on board, before Vriess crashes the damn thing.”
Ripley 8 nods and makes towards the Ravens open cargo bay door, she stops and turns to look at Call, shouting “You?”
“I’ll buy you some time, go!” Call shouts in reply before opening fire again on the synthetic soldiers.
Ripley 8 throws her assault rifle to Call, whom proceeds to use it before jumping on board the Raven and heading to the cockpit to relieve Vriess. Running in to the cockpit Ripley 8 places her hand on Vriess’ shoulder, but as Vriess makes to get up Johner leans towards the side of the cockpit screen, “Oh shit!”
Ripley 8 turns round to see the Hangar double doors open, the Major and a small team of synthetic soldiers stepping through, flanking Call. Pushing Vriess back into the pilots seat Ripley 8 grabs Johners gun and heads back to the open cargo bay door. Call, trapped, looks to the open cargo bay door of the Raven and sees Ripley 8 appear, opening fire on the Major and his team of synthetic soldiers. Ripley 8 turns to Call and shouts “Jump!”
Leaving cover, Call runs towards the raven and leaps for the ramp of the open cargo bay door, receiving multiple gunshots as she does. Squarely landing on ramp Call gets up and looks down at the numerous bullet holes in her torso. Ripley 8 placing a hand on Calls shoulder, “You alright?”
Call nods, smiling, “Scratches. Nothing I can’t fix.” A strange whipping, whooshing noise murmurs.
As Ripley smiles back something erupts from Calls chest. It stretches the fabric of Calls top before eventually tearing through.
The head of the grappling rope opens just before the Major, instigator of the attack retracts the cord.
Call is jolted backward from Ripley 8’s reach but manages to grab the bottom of the ramp with one hand. Ripley 8 runs to Calls aid but is stopped by gunfire ricocheting of the ramp between herself and Call. She looks up to see Call looking at her, her eyes pleading, “Ripley, don’t do this.”
“I have too. I have to make things right.” Ripley 8 replies, as if in apology.
The Major with all his weight pulls on the grappling cable, causing Call to bleed white blood from chest, a ripping, cracking sound accompanies the bleeding. Call, not in pain, but aware of her fate once more pleads with Ripley 8, “Please, don’t!”
Instead of goodbye, Ripley 8 mournfully replies, “I’m sorry!”
The Majors roar of effort is barely drowned out by the Raven’s thrusters as he pulls on the grappling cable one more time ripping Call in half and destroying her neural relay. Ripley 8 glares at the Major as she shuts the cargo bay doors, her eyes filled with hatred, and tears.
“Ripley!” Vriess’ panicked scream snaps Ripley 8 back into the present. Running into the cockpit she replaces Vriess in the pilots seat and looks forward to see the Hangar bay doors closed. She looks to Johner.
Johner, no words needed, “I got it.” He operates the screen in front of him. “Well I’ve got Independently Targeting Particle Phalanx, Tactical Smart Missiles, Phased Plasma Rockets…”
“That’ll do.” Ripley 8 intercedes.
Vriess looks at the Hangar bay doors and then at Ripley “Are you sure?”
Ripley scowls at Vriess and then turns to Johner, “Do it!”
Johner flicks switches and presses buttons. Immediately after each button press each of the weapons is targeted at the Hangar bay doors and launched as Ripley thrusts the pilots stick forward. As the Raven, at full throttle heads towards the Hangar bay doors the Major stands and watches full of pride.
As the ordinance hits the Hangar bay doors a large ball of flame erupts shaking the hangar violently, before suddenly being sucked out into the vacuum of space. The Major, his pride eradicated in an instant, and his team of synthetic soldiers are plucked off their feet and catapulted into space, each one of them ricocheting off the Raven.
Vriess dropping into his seat, exhales in relief. Johner, disarming the Ravens weapons looks out through the cockpit window at the Majors body floating in zero gravity, “I’ll be damned!”
Both Ripley 8 and Vriess locate the Majors body as the vacuum of space cracks and ruptures his veins, pouring his white, milky blood among the stars. Ripley 8 scoffs before launching the Raven towards the planet below.

Well I thought about this some more, arguing that maybe the Jorden parents visited a different section of the derelict than Kane did and thus happened across a different breed of the Alien. but then I realised I was wrong.
Because we all assume that the two Facehuggers in Alien 3 (Ripley and Dog/Ox) were laid on the Sulaco by the Queen when she was hiding on board the Dropship at the climax of Aliens. In Aliens she had sired an army of ridged carapace, but the facehugger that pounced the dog/ox resulted in a domed carapace. Back to the drawing board, until i realised the answer is so much simpler.
It seems that the appearance of the ridged and the domed carapace aliens seems to be determined by their environment and whether the Queen/Facehuggers feel substantially threatened enough to produce the warrior-esque domed carapace aliens. If not the worker-esque ridged carapace Aliens are instead produced...
Domed Carapace
Alien - Lone Alien in dangerous territory (space), against an unknown enemy.
Alien 3 - Lone Alien in safe territory, against an unknown enemy, but protecting the Queen (within Ripley).
Alien Rez - Multiple Aliens in dangerous territory, against an dangerous enemy.
AVP - Multiple Aliens in dangerous territory, against a dangerous enemy.
Ridged Carapace
Aliens - Multiple Aliens in safe territory, against a docile enemy.
AVPR - Multiple Aliens in safe territory, against a docile enemy.

I may have a explanation on this (depends on your view of Canon as I have read all the books) The reason why the Aliens have differences is because they are different. I think the best way to describe what I am trying to say is there are different Classes. There are Drones, Warriors, Defenders, as well as exotics. If you remember when the Aliens movie came out they had like a thousand it seemed different kinds of Alien toys each different. For example the toy for the Scorpion Alien had a longer tail and if I remember what the box said I believe it said that was the Alien that got Hudson. In some of the books its states that a Alien get certain attributes from the host, such as the Dog Alien in Alien 3 looks like a Dog/Alien mix, but that is more often not the case as when you seen graphic novels and you see the Alien being birthed by some type of cattle and still looking like a normal drone/warrior and not like a hybrid. I dont know if I make sense saying this as I am typing at 30 WPM and my mind is going 100 WPM lol. Oh, back to the Classes, everyone knows the top the Queen, then there are the defenders and from what two of the Aliens books have said there are the normal defenders who care for the eggs and protect the Queen. The Queen Mother (this Queen is only in books, if you with to know more let me know) has Elite Defenders which are about 1.5 times the size of a normal Alien and have Horns, this breed is very fast compared to the Alien norm and much more Agile as well as very aggressive. Drones go looking for food and host in areas already "controlled" by the hive, they also receive the host captured by Warriors and cocoon them. Warriors are the Aliens that attack other Hives and other threats outside the hive. Also I have the McFarlane Alien/Predator action figures/toys lol the one with the smooth shell is labeled Alien and the ridged one is Alien Warrior....dont know if that carries any weight but yeah lol. So my guess would be domed Aliens are Drones.
On a side note in the book Alien Genocide there is a civil war between two different races of Alien the Traditional Black and a Reddish Alien.

Snorky,
There can be whole other aspect here. I think Domes have an inferiority complex that makes them more cunning, sneakier, smarter, and completely ruthless in comparison to Ridges. Ridges are always enmasse. To me the domes are always a single shot lone alien. Kind of like the Ridges would be the infantry version and the Domes would be Sniper/Spec Ops Aliens. I also think the Domes are significantly larger in size than the Ridges and have a more mechanical aspect to them than the Ridges which tend to be built more organically to break body lines along hive walls.
With that said I think Alien 3, needs to be removed from the Equation. I can factor it out based on the 2 eggs on the Sulaco being placed by the company with a small side story based on these facts from the films.
There is no other way the company could be at (Fiorna) inside a couple days unless they were already in orbit or really really close (fiorna isn't far from zeta retic). I would be willing to bet the company while the marines were distracted at the atmospheric processor was raiding the derelict for eggs or landed shortly their after. Look at it like this. Why send one ship when you can send two and have twice the prize. This is also loss mitigation and cost vs benefit factor analysis. At this point its really a given, with Prometheus around the corner and the company involvement, Ash being planted last minute, Burke having insider knowledge and manipulating Ripley at the inquest, then tagging along for the ride with the marines, and etc. At the very least there is the possibilty that Bishop communicated with the corp when he remote piloted the drop ship from the Sulaco. This side story completely bypasses the Cameron Ridged Xeno Eggs being laid by the queen. Thus the eggs under the grate would be domes from the derelict.
That could be a whole other story to the genre unrelated to A3 and the rest. Seeing the company scientist actual involvement along a parallel story board and there "real" goals for the aliens so we can get a whole other feel for whats going on behind the scenes at the company.

ill go with the atmosphere trick. in alien, there was a horrible atmosphre hence a dome. aliens had a proccesser which made air breathable. no dome needed. alien 3 must have had negligible air in the atmosphere of fury 161 so a dome was formed. only thing i can come up with, but alien res does kind of screw with that theory
ReplyGuestAlien Movies ForumAlien DifferencesJan 10, 2012
Deadcell,
I dont agree with the dome is for atmospheric reasons due to in the books and in Alien they show Aliens can survive in space. The Perry's wrote a trilogy that was supposed to be the continuation of Hicks and Newt, when they were killed they changed the names to Wilks and Billie but when they go into what happened that they know each other they use names from the Aliens movie. In the second book several Aliens live on the side of the hull for a extended time and then tear into the ship.
Rick,
If we use movies as canon and decide to pick and choose what part we want to use as canon then you can make it say/explain anything. Also the post I put before is all based on what is in Books and Movies which all have to have permission to be made/published. I admit I am not a expert but I have seen nothing that would show Aliens with Domes would be Spec/ops (sniper makes no sense as they do not use weapons so how do you snipe bare handed assassinate yes snipe no). I would also like to know what map you have seen to determine the following statement "(fiorna isn't far from zeta retic)" I looked for maps and the only ones I have found are ones are totally different from each other or based off of the Star Trek Universe. I have always read Aliens being described as 2 meters tall not domed are this tall and ridged are this tall. In the movies you see both kinds compared to Humans and only the Queen looks to be significantly larger, the others look to be the same. I have not found a chart that states the size of a doomed Alien but this is from AVP2 (http://media.photobucket.com/image/scale%20chart%20of%20Aliens/sabres21768/AlienArt/avprconcept04.jpg)
I think that the reason for this actual world is that some of the powers that be in these movies decided to follow H.R. Giger's design and some made changes just enough to not credit him with the design just a designer of the original Alien there for he is not to get as much royalties. This is a excerpt of a documentary "Giger would later be angered by the end credits of the released film presenting him as merely the creator of the original creature, and the fact that ADI personnel gave a series of interviews that minimized Giger's contribution. Fox eventually reimbursed Giger, but only after he refused to be interviewed for their behind-the-scenes documentary of Alien 3."
"Here is also a excerpt about the Dog/Ox Alien: The creature itself shares the same basic physical conformation and instincts as the other Aliens shown in the previous films, although there are several differences due to the host it was spawned from (a dog in the theatrical cut, an ox in the DVD assembly cut). The Dog Alien in its Chestburster form is a miniature version of the adult, unlike the larva-like human spawned chestbursters. The adult is primarily quadrupedal, has digitigrade hind legs and lacks the dorsal tubes of the human-spawned variety."

must be milk or the other crew would have noticed ...and he did must eat too ...
i think Ash is forced during the movie to take alot of decisions "alone" ...without any kind of company help ...he "help" only when asked and he act only when the "specimen" is in real danger .
to be honest i mantain a simple profile :The company did receive the alien trasmission ( maybe from another ship passing in that area...and they changed the medical officer to "help" to retrive the specimen with the famous order 937 ...after that was all up to Ash .

true, but even bishop gave up all food and water, kind of a loophole if you ask me

thats dont mean he ( bishop ) could not have eaten that ..just was not useful to him ..not digested ...maybe expelled as its :)

Hey Frantz,
I kind of agree but then again I need to detract a little bit. Ash seemed to me to be indecisive about almost everything throughout the movie when I analyzed his actions throughout. The onyl main exception I can make of this is when Kane first started having issues and coughed. Ash stopped everything almost expecting the Alien to burst out.
Then him telling Parker to not touch it was kind of twofold reasoning. Stabbing it would have imploded the ship causing Ash to go with it and then specimen. Is there any info from the novel about Ash's where abouts throughout the ordeal?

plus wasnt it a little obvious when ripley semi translated the message and ash couldnt. kind of sent up red flags there. plus when they crash land, everyone goes into instant work mode and takes care of buissness, ash just sits there and convulses.

You know that is an excellent point. I so want to know what the hidden workings are that goes on behind the scenes in Alien and Prometheus regarding the company. You know there has to be a lot of underhanded dealings in it.
