mmmm i dont agree much on the fight ...when they return we see all the 3 vehicles ...if someone was so bad injuried almost one vehicle should have returned immediately ..
.i agree more on the acid in the last image but i dont think the mutant are so developed to have it inside their veins ..but can be !!
ReplyJuxtaposePrometheus ForumAcid for BloodDec 28, 2011
Thankyou...IMO....that is acid eating into his helmet and his face....hence the smoke...i have mentioned this before in a previous thread.....it does not mean it was caused by a zeno,,,just something related to it....even the Engineers might have acid for blood....that suit looks like a xeno without the penis shaped head...seriously the exo skeleton...they seem like they related...
ReplyartyohPrometheus ForumAcid for BloodDec 28, 2011
Yeah Juxtapose, it would only make sense that all of the SJ tech would have commonalities of appearance, if all of their technology derives from the same biomechanical basis......though if the premise of this movie is that humanity is the result of SJ tech, the fact that we don't look Gigereque doesn't really fit with that.

@ artyoh
we arrive on the scene as humans....so .....i don't even know?...lol...lets wait another 5 and a half months to find out!

This would be the figure seen being torched in the pics from Comic-con?

With regard to your initial posting...Maybe it's part of the Derelicts signal...does that make any sense even?

The piece of scrap on fire looks to be part of this (same colour scheme):

Check out the detailing on the right hand side; especially the black and yellow stripes - they match!

Looks like the Nostromo and Prometheus land on the outer-most moon/planetoid from the pic seen from Alien of LV-426's skyline.
Looks like Prometheus backs this up by having the system, in order, go - Gas giant with rings, brown moon 1, white moon, brown moon 2 aka LV-426.
ReplySpartacusPrometheus ForumWhat am IDec 28, 2011
wow, I just realized, If memory serves correctly
LV-426
was/is a ringed planet.
ReplyGavinPrometheus ForumWhat am IDec 28, 2011
Nope sparks, Acheron LV-426 was one of the moons/planetoids in orbit around the ringed planet supposedly called "Calpamos" (source - Xenopedia). As shown by the image BM has posted from Alien showing the ringed planet in LV-426's skyline.
ReplyGavinPrometheus ForumWhat am IDec 28, 2011
Simple answer to that BM, the Prometheus doesn't approach a white planet, it approaches a cloudy planet (recall the end of Aliens).
Replyb5historymanPrometheus ForumWhat am IDec 28, 2011
Yup, Snorkelbottom (great username btw) is right. Acheron was a moon orbiting the ringed giant
ReplyGavinPrometheus ForumWhat am IDec 28, 2011
Not necessarily...
Look at it this way - Earth, from orbit - on a clear day (weather wise) looks green and blue, but on a cloudy day is... well, covered with clouds.
ReplyGavinPrometheus ForumWhat am IDec 28, 2011
Another example...
Mars - on a clear day all of its features can easily be seen, but when a sandstorm hits it just looks like an orange (yes orange, NASA have admitted to "Redding" up images of Mars) ball of dust.
Also in Aliens the air was only completely breathable near the processor (Newts parents wearing oxygen masks before entering the derelict).
ReplySpartacusPrometheus ForumWhat am IDec 28, 2011
ok, it was a moon of LV-426, and that seems actually even more correct if memory serves...and makes better sense, thanks for correcting me there "Snorky".
ReplySpartacusPrometheus ForumWhat am IDec 28, 2011
Biomechanic...
You are comparing temperatures and conditions which are for our intents and purposes, partial to events that happened 30 years apart form each other at least.
In Aliens, the atmospheric processors are Only set up on Lv-426 between the time Ripley surives her INITIAL battle with the creature and 57 years later when she is "picked up buy the company".
Van Luin tells Ripley it takes "decades". What they call "A Shake and Bake Colony" !!!
If this is all happening 30 years before Ripley is born even, than there are No Atmospheric processors on LV-426 !!!
ReplyFrantzPrometheus ForumWhat am IDec 28, 2011
they look quite different indeed ... both are barren even if the LV426 both from aliens and fron alien did look much more rough ....vulcanic rocks for sure and vulcanic activity .
Here everything look ...stable ...cold ... and in a planet so small i dont think you can have two so different environments .
ReplydanraldPrometheus ForumWhat am IDec 28, 2011
That flash if very interesting. I don't know what you guys think, but it looks as if there is some sort of hurricane going on. When the "Prometheus" decends onto the planet, the clouds still seem to have a circular motion to them, but the ship is covering up the center of the storm. Also notice that when the ship is decending into the mountains, all the mountains are covered with snow.. then we have dry barren land. And the size of the sun is relativley small in the prometheus movie, compared to LV-426. So those are a few things I noted.. So I don't think in the first picture posted, that the planet is related to LV-426.
ReplyJuxtaposePrometheus ForumWhat am IDec 28, 2011
lol....seriously...i never thought of myself as a geek?....but reading threw this.....the mere fact that i got this far...i guess I am one!...if so much as one pixel changed on any frame of the trailer it will promote some thread or speculation!....I am not immune to this....but still....very funny!
ReplySpartacusPrometheus ForumWhat am IDec 28, 2011
Maybe the ship crashing is the result of an accident then...only 6 months 15 Days 3.5 Hours 37 minutes and 8.4 seconds until we find out for sure though.
ReplySpartacusPrometheus ForumWhat am IDec 28, 2011
once again I feel compelled to point out that the weather, atmospheric conditions, and the landscape, all may have been drastically altered in the 30 years between Prometheus and Alien.
ReplyJuxtaposePrometheus ForumWhat am IDec 28, 2011
it's 5 months...one week and 3 days!...get it right sparky..;)
ReplySpartacusPrometheus ForumWhat am IDec 28, 2011
To Ridley Scott, the concept of continuity is Very Important Deal !!!
ReplySpartacusPrometheus ForumWhat am IDec 28, 2011
My apologies I was not being confrontational but rather wrote what i did Because of your questioning it all at the end of your post...And of course, because despite how much we all beat it over the head, in a nice way I mean, the odds are drastically in favor of that planet being nothing other than LV-426.
ReplySpartacusPrometheus ForumWhat am IDec 28, 2011
IMO Ridley Scott is the kind of director that will watch every scene in this thing over and over and over again for just that, continuity errors and will order that several editing changes are made as he finds such anomolies, and would never, ever, allow this thing to go public until he was absolutely convinced it Works !!!
I bet he is waking up at 4 a.m. these days in a cold sweat after realizing in his dreams what needs to be adjusted.
In a way, his reputation IS HINGING on all of this and should he end up making some massive mistake no one is ever going to let him forget it and he is reluctantly tuned into this and focused on it's massive implications for his own career, or what's left of it, I am quite positive.
ReplySpartacusPrometheus ForumWhat am IDec 28, 2011
I would just love that Bio, that's a fantastic idea, but at the same time I fear that as someone else mentioned, the events in the trailer have got to be part of that "Last 8 minutes" Ridley was referring to.
For what it's worth I really hope we see a lot more happening on LV-426 than just the film coming together at the end on itself there.
ReplySpartacusPrometheus ForumWhat am IDec 28, 2011
I've heard that before and wondered the same thing...He must have been drunk.
I hear he likes scotch a lot !!!
ReplyReimerPrometheus ForumWhat am IDec 28, 2011
"I am toying with a two planet scenario"
Must be: the waterfall with the saucer over it looks Earthlike, and the party testing its flamethrowers appears to be setting out onto somewhere harsh but habitable (Iceland!) whilst the crash scenes look like an airless Moon.
I still don't get the significance of the shots of conventional centre-line-marked asphalt road though...unless this is movie people's code for "A journey takes place".
ReplyAndrew RyanPrometheus ForumWhat am IDec 28, 2011
Why does everyone assume that the crashed ship in the trailer will be the derelict from Alien? It could be a completely different ship and planet. Remember, it's not a prequel per se--it doesn't have to directly lead into Alien, it just involves elements from that universe.
BTW, does anyone have a screen shot from that flicker of static with the end credits during the trailer? I grabbed it but I don't know how to post it here. Anyone have any idea what it could possibly be?
ReplySpartacusPrometheus ForumWhat am IDec 28, 2011
I also read somewhere today as matter of fact, that The Engineer's may have sent out several ships that all look the same.
It could be possible, however unlikely it may seem.
ReplyMicro changes in air densityPrometheus ForumWhat am IDec 28, 2011
I believe the two planet theory is very likely. I'm also convinced the crew land on LV426 at some stage whether it's during the last 10 minutes or not I'm not quite sure. But the trailer shows two distinct planets one lush and well developed the other barren and dull. We could be into a scenario of good planet/bad planet. The jockeys could have developed the bad creatures on LV426 a small planetoid while keeping the large terra-formed planet for their greatest creation man.
ReplyMicro changes in air densityPrometheus ForumWhat am IDec 28, 2011
The shots of Shaw being blow away might be reminiscent of the weather encountered by the Nostromo crew.
