If the xenomorph is not totally stupid it might understand there are better chances of survival if the eggs are laid inside the ship, sheltered from the elements and at hand if some curious explorers come to see what happened to the Juggernaut.
And the eggs are neatly arranged in the hold, which might indicate they were laid after the crash by the lady who stole the SJ heart.
If the eggs were in the hold before the crash they should have looked like this:

How did the engineers load the eggs into the hold without getting facehugged? And how were they going to use the eggs as weapons: throwing them from the air on another planet? Wouldn't be easier to use the black goo instead?
It seems a little weird that three threads went with no problems and this one got halted.
Adapt indeed! This forum needs stuff like this- after all, it should be a fun place to come to!
I didn't take it that way at all dk. Thank you for the heads up and I should have been more clear in my pouting and made myself more clear. Thank you again for the kindness in your comments and I regret I came across that way to you.
I had a little trouble in my topics earlier in the year from someone else and I thought they may have come back to haunt my videos' success.
There are boundaries with content and I'll move back to enhanced stills married to the music because the music owners allowed it. I don't want to be disrespectful regarding "fair use" with Fox and will pout less in my comments when the authorities block my content.
Thank you Ati. We live in a very restrictive world where it is prohibited to play music to Prometheus imagery and share with others. I will adapt.
I still think it is open to debate since the original idea- as far as I can find- was that the Derelict was atop a place (egg silo) that already had the eggs per Giger design. Just look at a size comparison between the ship and the area where the eggs were.
He is talking about one of Scott's original ideas: the eggs were not created by the SJ species, but found and collected by them, possibly taken away (to Planet 4), etc., etc...
Wow this guy is cool. Actually he approaches the whole thing as it was a mystery that needs to be solved. I wish Ridley Scott thought in a similar way, but I have the impression he thinks every mystery has been solved already.
Ingeniero I was not sharp shooting if that is how my post was received- I only stated that I could not view the video posted. Not the first time this has happened.
Ati made a good point that you drew someone's attention in a higher place it seems. That makes you appear a bit as a thorn in someone's side and I respect that sir!
drucea - Yes! I know it was discussed in a previous thread that the scene in question reveals Shaw's face in the helmet, but we thought that the image in the helmet had been taken from the record seen in the pilot room. The new thing is that we were wrong.
The images I added show Shaw in David's lab.
They don't like Blondie! :DDDDD
Your words are true. Youtube is full of unofficial music videos with Prometheus footage. For example, it was uploaded in 2012:

2012! :DDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDD
Ingeniero - You are our hero. :) Fox is blocking you. :D
'someone reported' - I agree with you.
Isn't it awesome? Fox is watching you. :D
I've seen other video captures with music that last for months or more on YouTube and I can only assume that someone reported the video above to get it removed so quickly dk.
Motivation?...those that don't create disturb those that do because of jealousy or a need to feel important by affecting events. Whoever could that be? I guess I'd pass "fair use" by enhancing stills to go along with the music opposed to video capture.
Lawrence of Arabia gets it! :D
joylitt, I definitely do agree that Ridley definitely ended up having a choice. At the very least, he could have gone about melding the Alien movie and the Prometheus movie together. That just made me wonder if they ever had a Covenant (not Paradise Lost) script that DIDN'T feature the crew on the ship for that first thirty minutes. I liked that, but if they could have condensed that (or addded runtime!) and spent more time on that planet, maybe David and the Alien encounters could have been less rushed and forced. Still love the final project we received!
Idk if you're reading this, BoZ, probably not, but I remember you telling us you had a video, idk if you still have it, I'd like to see it.
Strangely, having watched both I felt somewhat satisfied on all counts. It brought a beginning, an origin, to the original Alien heading towards the Nostromo via a cascade of revelations and changes in the 'players'. It also questions, as does much of archeology, the true nature of 'God'. In Covenant, similarities exist which tie David to a God like entity with a Noah's Flood type destruction of the 'engineer populace'. So much of what has gone on in Prometheus and Covenant are questioning our beliefs in a greater being and it's benevolent or malevolent machinations. Does humanity face it's own mortality by it's own hands or by those of another. David, here is a creation of man but also potentially it's greatest enemy. He is both the creator and the created. Chicken and egg syndrome here depending on where in time you happen to be as things unfold. I love it but wouldn't mind it finding it's way back to the original Alien or it's action packed successor Aliens. We have spent the past 30 years trying to make our way back to the quality of those but now with a huge upgrade in our knowledge of where the Alien has come from; there should be so many ways to reach 'crescendo' quality movies for the next generation of younger movie lovers. When all is said and done I will watch the next, then the next and eventually I hope that only the awful Alien 3 will left me bewildered as to why I wasted an hour or so of my life on that junk.
Do Smart Patrol/Mr DNA!!! :)

The music owner allowed it but Fox blocked it. My apologies.
copy right by Fox- video blocked
Interesting, that both Cerulean Blue and Lawrence of Arabia believe that the Engineers created humankind, when at best I would say it is open to debate, despite my own opinions that they did not (with supporting evidence in both Prometheus and Alien: Covenant).
I like LOA's juxtaposition of Holloway's wisecrack remark as evidence to support the case of Engineers creating humanity, it reminds me of how some fans vehemently defend the supposed 'fact' that the Space Jockey is millions of years old, based solely on Dallas statement, and as such feels just as empty.
As for canon, I have heard many argue the theatrical release is the only canon. And regards the W-Y report, is canonicity standing is questionable at best. Not too long ago we had a member who would have argued to their dying breath that the W-Y report was the word of god itself, but being that is sourced by the fans and not the creators of this franchise should be reason enough to question its authority, as this thread will no doubt prove in time.
The Deacons presence in the mural is a good example of irrefutable in-universe proof, a definitive answer that shows the Deacon and other 'Morphs' are what will result from exposure to the Black Pathogen. The Mural was designed to specifically show this, as evidenced by the inclusion of Facehuggers within its design - its a visual representation of "This shit makes Xenomorphs!"
Ati - I'd say that's dead on for a match. The transmission in T's helmet has Shaw's head tilted back and her eye's closed. The first in-helmet image you posted is pretty creepy looking, look's like her mouth is wide open, but still has closed or dark eye sockets. Great catch. I wonder if they will do more viral videos from David prior to releasing the next installment. Maybe this time David will explain/flashback to more of "The Crossing" video and go into Shaw's transmission.
Look at the mouth and the nose in these stills. I think it is obvious that the we see the vivisected body's head in the transmission in the helmet scene when T is shown in space.

drucea - Exactly. I made two stills from the video, in the first one you can see Shaw with her mouth open, the second one shows her as she is seen vivisected in the movie.
These stills are from the movie, of course, they are in the space scene when T receives the transmission in his helmet.
What is the canon version of each movie?
The Director's Cut/Special Edition Cuts.
Why did the Engineers create humanity?
Because they could.
Why do the Engineers hate humanity and wish to wipe us off the board?
Because humanity has gotten too big for their britches, too big for even the Engineers to handle so the only recourse with a rebellious creation is to 'retire' it. We are a cruel species, filled with incompetence and hubris as epitomized by the crew of the Prometheus.
Did the Engineers create the Deacon?
I believe the mural is proof of this as Steve Messing, the guy who created the mural, states that the depiction is of the Deacon and that it is the ancestor to the Xenomorph in the Furious Gods documentary.
What I enjoy about the Alien franchise is it's ambiguity, the countless possibilities and implied meanings. I'm glad that Lovecraftian element is still prevalent because it gives us as fans something to discuss as we wait for further installments. :)
As to the Michael Bishop question left in Alien 3, in the Weyland-Yutani Report they specify that he is indeed human and that in his death his biggest regret was not being able to convince Ripley. I know that the Weyland Yutani Report isn't exactly definitive and that it is still up to debate but I believe this is as close to an answer we'll get.
Heres a question, let's see what people believe to be the answer and why - In Alien Covenants opening scene David ask Peter Weyland "Who created you?".......I suppose Peter Weyland did not like answer he discovered on LV-223 as The Engineers?
IMHO - Alien is the greatest SciFi horror movie ever. Alien is never going to be topped, just replicated & spun-off of. I loved Prometheus because of the concepts it presented for us all to debate over the last 5 years!! Alien Covenant gets better, the more we talk about it. I am hoping to get my mind blown away with the next films. Yes, I hope there are a few more films, not one!!
I didn't watch the video yet as I'm at work, but is this saying that David made "Shaw's" transmission after she died, like a puppet so that she looked alive?
I think that because egg morphing has only been seen in the directors cut of Alien that is canonicity is open to debate, but not certain. Are deleted and alternate scenes canon? What is the canon version of each movie?
Heres a question, let's see what people believe to be the answer and why - In Alien Covenants opening scene David ask Peter Weyland "Who created you?"...
The third reaction Ati but much louder.
Full disclosure...I'll Tumble 4 Ya is number 11 on my top 25 most played.
Devo is very appropriate dk.
I need my favorite mesh shirt back dk.
Uugghh! Could you imagine Star Wars NOT producing a line of toys!?
I think this shows exactly where the Alien franchise falls...middle tier and lucky to be there.
Inginiero: As I recall, in the move the computer was making a lot of background chatter in the Lander, including atmospheric composition.
So a Queen Xenomorph is canon (as depicting in Aliens, A3 & AR) so whether we like it or not, it is part of the primary life cycle of the species.
But is eggmorphing still a possible alternate life cycle mode?? This is a question that will bring a lot of closure to certain aspects of the franchise?
Christie- That explains a lot.
CALL - She's the host. Wren cloned her cause she had one of those things inside her
Johner-I can get you off.Maybe not the boat but...
This is hillarious! I like what you are doing with these songs and movie content. This song is just so much fun though!
It makes me think the angry Engineer should be more like this:

Creative video! I have to side with Ati here since I couldn't get into C Club back in the day. It fits though.
I don't have the savvy to imbed, but David's general antics being David and using the goo would go pretty well with Devo's Smart Patrol/Mr DNA imo. Lyrics seem appropriate.

Interesting and plausible. It may have played out differently if they would have listened to Daniels and stay on course. Then David would have been stuck. Thanks for sharing- I didn't notice these subtleties before. Question- can we go by what is in deleted scenes? If so, that brings up frustration of cutting material for time's sake in the first place.
