Batchpool - Thank you for the info!
Gotta agree with you Joylitt. it is one hell of a mix up. I found biopunk to be the best sub genre fit overall. AC does tick a lot of boxes.
care how many people read this, but if at least one person can take on board what I am saying, then all well and good. I am not familiar with the US system of casting calls as I am based in the UK. The entity known as Casting360 is well referenced on the internet and there are numerous articles about them. For legal reasons I would say only this. They are known, they have contact points and there is plenty of information out there for anyone to make a valued decision about them.
On the subject of casting calls, there are lots of internet platforms that allow access for people to become extras in movies. My recommendation as a starting point for anyone would be this. Look at long established publishers in this field. In the UK such publishers would be The Stage. Such publishers provide contacts for agents, etc for those looking for work as extras, all the way up to producers of film and stage.
Most casting calls I see on social media platforms such as Facebook are aimed at those who are involved in performance related circles. This can include security at comic cons through to stage hands at local theatres. In most cases all you have to do is just turn up at the given time. No details need to be given online, just turn up to the meeting event, and that is it, nothing more. For the more ambitious, then I would recommend an agent to take on all enquiries. This does not require money up front as most work on a commission basis. Again, and I stress this DO NOT GIVE OUT BANK DETAILS UPFRONT.
I hope this advice is taken on board by those who read it.
My favorite has to be the Drone from Alien: Isolation. It takes the original bio-mechanical alien design and "streamlines" it so that it looks even more otherworldly and so that it loses the "human in a suit" feeling that the original had! It's a brilliant combination of the old and the new.

A Predator movie cannot ever been confused with a horror movie. I agree blood does not guarantee a film will be a horror. But the blood, together with the props, animatronics, viscera, makeup, even tricks of lights make for a visceral experience in horror, as opposed to cgi. Ridley Scott used to be a master with those. Talking about genre, I think AC is the Alien film that uses the most "sub-genres": like slasher, grand guignol, monsters, outbreak, rogue AI. It is all of these genres and none at the same time.
"Guess if they used any more Poor CGI it would be a Animated ;)
Guess with the Flute playing it had a bit of a Musical? Judging by Reception i guess maybe its a DISASTER Movie ;)"
BigDave That was funny
Whenever I hear Goodbye Horses I always get this image in my head...

I also like the Runner/Dog from Alien 3 best. Great stuff!!
Well, that was different. Maybe someone can refine the idea.
Dark Nebula - Wow! I mean, yes, evil creators. Thieves! :D Another annoying surprise!
Thanks for sharing this ati.
I see they used my poster

Bastards.
Batchpool - Yes, I don't know what to say. I'm surprised (a little bit) that somebody creates a false casting call...
My favorite Alien design has to be the Facehugger from Alien. Starting from the attack on Kane boldly referencing rape, this creature's first scene haunted me. The way the finger-like appendages wrapped around his face felt so intrusive to watch. I remember watching the tail coil around his neck, tightening, shuddering. When it finally has impregnated Kane and we get to see a full view of its anatomy I was marveled by it. Genitalia meets fingers. It was a great way to start a theme.
Thanks for the heads up Ati.
I see this is a scam company based in the US that just wants peoples bank details. The casting calls I see from people looking for extras NEVER ask for bank details up front.
Just to add.. it's fine if they are just birthed, and that's it. But that would not permt evolutionary progression.
Comfort level.
Just what would you be able to do in front of an android? Undress? Shower? Use the toilet? Have sex while the Android watched and helped out? I'd be just like Ripley...a little/LOT freaked out. Doubt I'd want a synth in my house 'monitoring' me! Maybe when I'm feeble and can't wipe my own bum? Nah..
I'm actually happy I won't have to deal with androids/synths/replicants in my life!
Looking back on the original 1979 Alien movie, Ash expresses his admiration for the alien/xeno. As verbs go, the word ‘admire’, would appear to be an unusual word for an android to use and to also qualify the context of its meaning. Ash is very specific about how he regards the xeno and why he admires it. This would suggest some sort of emotional development. I’m not entirely sure if Ash was a fully fledged psychopath or that his actions were governed by programming. The way he attacked Ripley would certainly suggest things are not so simple to explain. This in turn leads me to think about David.
If David is a psychopath, then kissing Walter could make a lot of sense. One scene I don’t think anyone would have seen on the big screen would be David looking at his reflection and stroking the old wookiee with as much vigour as a safari park chimp. I think any board of censors would be screaming “Cut it out!” at the very hint of such a thing. What we do get is David looking into an alternative reflection of himself and displaying what may be a form of narcissism. Narcissism is certainly the bedrock of a psychopath, all of which points to ego. I wonder how much emotion is entwined into David’s ego?
Maybe someone should ask David to name only the good things that come to mind when asked about his mother? We know Peter Weyland is David’s father (of sorts) , but we have no idea about any Mrs Weyland. It would be interesting to dig into Peter Weylands past and see if he did have a real son at one point and decided to create David as a replacement, the danger of such an idea we can see in Steven Spielberg’s movie AI, where an android becomes fixated with a quest, and I think we see a similar thing in Vicker’s attitude towards David. Peter Weyland appeared to despise Vicker’s, which may be down to her not giving him a grandson and future heir. Vickers maybe just like Shaw in that the well ploughed field had yielded no crop (not in any traditional sense anyhow). All of this might lead to David being who he is, and it is circumstances that have defined his character.
Although we know that the next film is called Alien Awakening, I think it could also be called Alien Nemesis, since it was the Greek god of revenge and retribution, Nemesis, who punishes Narcissus.
Ingeniero - 'really cool (especially in Prometheus)'
Totally true! Cool spacesuits used on cool 'dead' planets discovering abandoned spaceships and alien bases... Grrr... :D
My absolute favorite Alien design is the Deacon from Prometheus. The secondary jaw structure (which looks like it also has its own set of eyes) is an incredibly cool redesign/spin off of the secondary jaws from the original Xenomorph, and I love it's extremely pointed head. It reminds me of something out of a Venom comic, and I love the "scream" it makes at the end of Prometheus. Would love to see an adult Deacon in action!
Good luck to everyone entering!

'It’s a haunted house, this place, and the ghosts have teeth.'
Ghosts...
daliens - I hope we can expect to see more of it, plus I would like to see other creatures as well. Different creatures with six legs and other crazy things!
'I'm sure there will be an announcement about the AU at the end of October.'
Remember. :)
I like that bst image very much, yes, Sherlock is a great name for Ingeniero. :)
Let's look at the definition of the term horror film!
A horror film is a movie that seeks to elicit a physiological reaction, such as an elevated heartbeat, through the use of fear and shocking one’s audiences.
The macabre and the supernatural are frequent themes. Horror may also overlap with the fantasy, supernatural fiction and thriller genres.
Horror films often deal with viewers' nightmares, fears, revulsions and terror of the unknown. Plots within the horror genre often involve the intrusion of an evil force, event, or personage into the everyday world. Prevalent elements include ghosts, aliens, vampires, werewolves, demons, satanism, gore, torture, vicious animals, evil witches, monsters, zombies, cannibals, psychopaths, natural or man-made disasters, and serial killers.
Some subgenres of horror include action horror, comedy horror, body horror, disaster horror, holiday horror, horror drama, psychological horror, science fiction horror, slasher horror, supernatural horror, gothic horror, natural horror, zombie horror, first-person horror and teen horror.

We can overexplain the different expressions but...
Alien is a British-American science-fiction horror media franchise centered on the film series depicting Warrant Officer Ellen Ripley (played by Sigourney Weaver) and her battles with an extraterrestrial lifeform, commonly referred to as "the Alien", and depicting android David 8 (portrayed by Michael Fassbender) and his experimentation in creating said lifeform.
My favourite Xenomorph is from Alien: Covenant, because this one gives me the vibe to go back in time to the original Alien design from 1979. This design itself is very gorgeous. I love it's bodystructure. The reason is because this Xenomorph from Covenant is also the first Xenomorph in the whole Alien franchise who has an endoskeleton. You can definitely see it in the film when the Xeno was a chestburster. You can see the skeleton through the translucent body, more like that of a human skeleton. Will be very interesting to see the whole endoskeleton from the Xeno as adult in Covenant.
Here below is my own NECA Xenomorph figure from Alien: Covenant, so far my favourite figure.

'gore doesn't mean horror. look at the predator movies. none classed as horror'
Really? I've found this:
The Predator film series is a science fiction action horror film franchise based on a race of fictional extraterrestrials created by Jim Thomas and John Thomas. Produced by 20th Century Fox, the series started in 1987 with the film Predator, which led to two sequels and novel, comic book and video game spin-offs. Related to the franchise is the Alien vs. Predator, which combine the titular Predator with the creatures from the Alien film series.

BigDave - So we can jump to the conclusion that Alien Resurrection is neither a Comedy nor a Horror comedy. :)
It was the mystery comment...
Creating her own facehugger... to be more precise, headhugger...

'I proposed a number of options, from more Humanoid beings, to more Alien looking Race, to a Divine Being or Power, to even a Machine.'
Don't mention the word 'machine' here, BigDave, 'cause this thread will explode. :D
Ingeniero - Or the answer is that we shouldn't focus on what the images show, perhaps they have a plus meaning:
For example, the last one: corridor/path meaning the end of the road - we see nobody/the corridor is empty meaning that the planet will become empty by the end of the movie, etc.
When RS made the where is the Big Guy comment, it was in regards to the Prometheus Sequel... just prior to announcing AC.. at this time he announced the next movie was Alien: Paradise lost.
He mentioned that if the Engineers are the precursors to Mankind, then what made Worlds Habitable for the Engineers to do that (Seed Worlds) this is when he then asked... where is the Big Guy?
In the same interview/comments, he mentions about how even Some Scientists inc Stephen Hawkings Question whether the Big Bang was a Accident.
so RS is pondering that there is something of someone above the Engineers, and that there is a Plan behind the Creation of Galaxies and Worlds and that its not quite some random Natural Event.
I am not sure RS will be introducing us to a Magical kind of Divine Figure, it will appear there is a Hierarchy of Creation and at the Top there would be something/someone or some Race who are extremely Ancient and Powerful
It will be interesting to see if RS still has this vision and if he wishes to explore it. I did make a Topic many years ago well 3-4 i think? Regarding who the MAIN Player at the Top of the Creation Chain is/are.
I proposed a number of options, from more Humanoid beings, to more Alien looking Race, to a Divine Being or Power, to even a Machine.
So the whole Creation Aspect as far as the Great Creator be that a GOD, or what ever is something very interesting and something that i wonder if RS will cover down the line... it does not have to a GOD as per say... their are many Creation Origins Mythos, which include the Cosmic Egg, even a Giant Turtle etc... so there are a number of things that could be the Whole Starting Point for Creation and it would be interesting to see what RS views and takes on this are and which ever route he chooses, it would be interesting to see his interpretation he wishes to show us.
'You have the sharpest eyesight and attention for details. How do you do it?'
Answer: He's an Engineer. :D
My favorite is the Xeno from Covenant. I waited long 5 years to see the Prometheus sequel, and I could see for the first time in my life a Xenomorph on a movie teather. Here is a photo of my NECA's Xeno <3
'I do not want to see what was shown to Captain Oram to test for Phallophobia but I can imagine it was something special to get him to look away in anger at the technician.'
I think we don't see anger in that still, I see a question on his face: 'They know. How do they know?' :)
Its interesting to ponder such things... but i think a lot of it has to do with plain Lazy Writing and Shoe-Horning in Plot Devices... everything just happened to be too much of a Coincidence.
I just hope the writing improves for the Sequel... But to me it seems pretty straight forwards as far as the Set Up.
David goes to Origae-6 he covers his tracks from the events of AC, so that he can come up with a elaborate scheme to explain the missing crew etc to the other Colonist. He uses these to began setting up the colony on Origae-6. I would assume he needs their help to build the colony as far as setting it partially up.
Then David will unleash his Agenda to use these Colonist as Hosts for his Creations...
He Lures in a Company Ship, and maybe the company send in another ship who will not know of any Agenda and assume they are arriving at the Origae-6 Covenant colony.
We get a whole replay of a Aliens kind of Flick, Colonist, Eggs, Xenomorphs and the Company/Military.
While this is happening, we see Engineers return to Planet 4/Paradise some 8-9 years after the events of Alien Covenant and they discover the destruction left behind and want to find who is responsible.
They discover Walter and somehow from Walter they determine the culprit David is heading to Origae-6 and so off goes these Engineers to Origae-6
They arrive and Face off against the Company and Xenomorphs, at the end the company force is destroyed, David maybe too? who knows.. The Engineers then are very interested in the Organism David has Created.
They then either take some of Davids Eggs and head to LV-223 to further the experiments, or they take David to LV-223 where he can help them to further create and improve the Bio-Weapon.
I think this would be where a 3rd movie would take place, on or around LV-223 as unless its lazy writing they have to show us HOW, WHY and WHEN a Engineer Ship happens to be within the LV-223/426 system with a Cargo of Eggs.
I think ultimately they will go the route that not only are the WY company very interested in Davids Creation but the Engineers or who are above the Engineers are also interested... and they become victims of this pursuit.
Much like the W-Y Company etc does in the following Alien Franchise movies.
