Noir1982 I beleive so. Hopefuly it means they will tie in with the first film but they will try to find a new angle to tell the story.

You made that clear many times; either you don't get irony or you try to make people look bad by twisting their words in the hopes the other users didn't read the original post. You should be a good sport and apologize to Thoughts_Dreams.
Does this mean that they're gonna be able to tie in with the first film and not do a reboot? Wrap up the story as such?

It's shocking. I think it's sad and ridiculous that you think that you have to tell others what to do. Everybody has the right to watch a movie and decide on its quality alone. But it is only my opinion...

Your antagonistic remark is uncalled for, it's easy for a coward to hide behind the internet, where I"m from that attitude can bring you a short life. Ridley can do what he wants with a film he makes weather it's good or bad, I don't have to like what he makes or what any one else makes. Grow up! not every one is going to agree with you, your parents should have taught you that.
The movie was well done, the CGI was perfect unlike Alien 3, the white aliens were really good, I think they should have stuck with that, instead just as it's getting intense David shows up which is fine but it didn't go any where else after that until close to the end. I do agree with the rest of you that the door is still open for other things, and it do agree with Blackwinter-witch, naming the aliens does take away their power in a since. I didn't really like the idea of the aliens and life on earht being genetically engineered, but that part wasn't that bad, I could still go with it, and it's old news to me, it was in the comic book back in the late 80s. David to me was just a bad copy of Lore from Star Trek, then you had Walter vs. David,(Lore vs. Data) Cliche.

I think the key for success as you say is to get the Engineers right, and find human characters that are not the usual marine or clumsy science officer. Another key element is to buy the rights for the HR Giger designs that the artists have been unable to use so far.
Thoughts_Dreams Don't let Ati give you a hard time. What you said is understood and in any case he is the only one who trivialized a human tragedy with this silly post.
The Neomorph was interesting but they failed with the Xeno. It felt like they had it in the movie just because they felt a pressure to add it.
It's the same thing with Christmas, they felt a pressure to add Santa each year.

I would rather have it like that compared to David creating the original Xeno. It would be interesting if they found something and created the Xeno from it. I like the drawing by the way.

i still think the engineers encountered the species long before David tried re creating it.
the good thing with these concepts is it shows a direct, more intimate and ancient connection between the engineers and the xeno. is one species the next evolution? has there been engineered cross breeding? did they evolve together on the same planet? so many paths to explore. yet none will be. what a kick in the swingers for the fans. we sat through AVP and AVPR dam it, u owe us!!!!!
I moon girl, I think ingeniero is talking about the Prometheus mission. I am pretty sure david would have been ordered by weyland to find tech and other things for him that was not to be shared with anyone else. u see this when david is about to enter the room with the last engineer. he turns his camera off when speaking to Vickers. even she wasn't to know, yet david then returns to the ship and wakens weyland. he is most definately doing as he is told by weyland, even tho the old man is fast asleep.
ingeniero, thanks lol id much rather have had the xeno origin mystery kept till maybe the next movie and have seen a more indepth engineer backstory in AC, leading into the xeno mystery being revealed in awakening, rather than what wev been given. as u say, 1 has been swapped for the other.
Also forgot to add it would be cool to see a situation where the Humans and Engineers come across each other and need to group up for survival or even just answers there are many ways to keep traditional sci if horror and Alien movie elements in there while making it fresh

I would like to see the biomechanics and organic science of the universe expand before they go off and do that fox should first finish the prequel series as well as do a film on the book out Alien:Out of Shadows as for the Prometheus/Covenant trilogy it would be cool to see two more films tie it up maybe the next step is to put the engineers in the humans place at some point create characters through the engineers we can get to know and understand then see the be hunted like we have with the crews of past films I don't think the planet in Covenant is the home world so maybe a ship shows up and see's what happened and they bring in what is accentually a detective or black ops crew of the engineer species to interrogate Walter assuming he is still alive and alone in the planet then from there search the universe for David and the Covenant that way when David is not in the picture or specific movie you are still presenced with the talented Fassbender and what he brings to the films and then expand maybe do a film where a ship gets boarded like in Out of Shadows and mix things up have that crew crash on to the planet which the aliens just came from or be forced in someway to abandon ship to the planet there is so much that can be done from a action , thriller , drama and science point of view

The work by Artist Troung is awesome! Very creepy and fits with how Scott and company are doing slight variations of the Xeno in each movie so far. Bonus points, the environment reminds me of a Star Wars ship or facility, so that's awesome
