Ripley - Get away from me.
fascinating video. Thanks for the share Walter :)
I embedded the video into the OP for convenience, hope you dont mind
She keeps dribbling the basketball, says nothing
Johner - What do you say
lets go Japan, knock it out of the park for us :-)
Ingeniero - Awesome, your works have become a real Alien sourcebook.
And to be even more ironic. FOX was distributing Dreamworks Animation in theatres and on DVD until this year. Now its part of Universal
Very true Roger55.
Weyland Industries expansion throughout the solar system and during the time of Peter Weyland's development of David up to the Prometheus mission leaves a whole lot of story to tell.
(After the "Betty" shipment was delivered and the eggs placed in front of the shipment.)
(Ripley is playing some basketball by herself.)
The "Betty" crew starts to enter. Johner's eye's flash with a spark as he sees Ripley playing basketball, "Ooh." He approaches Ripley and continues, "How about a little one on one?"
Wow! Very nice indeed!
I'd print this out(self publish...Amazon..Diggypod..)and have it sitting on my coffee table! So cool to have a physical copy. Think I'll write my own book with my own cover...doesn't have to be good...just a work of art.
I wish FOX would use one million out of the next Alien movies budget and direct it towards novels/novellas/short stories.
Elgyn drinks to that
Perez - I trust, of course, that you can mind your own business
Elgyn smiles - I'm famous for it (bribery done)
Perez-Me casa Su casa
Ingeniero a pleasure to read so much information related with Alien universe, Mr. Weyland is still an unknown subjetc for everyone with big potential and wasted by the franchise.
I'd always assumed that the scorpion thing was both a docking station and a protector of the planets population.
Given that both the scorpion and juggernaut are crashed in the movie, I assume it attacked the juggernaut when the payload was released.
I also assume that those two things that are sticking out either side of the juggernaut are like shuttle craft, where the leaders/heroes travel from the juggernaut, down the surface and meet with their creation.
That is great- thanks for sharing!
Well, it IS genuine work. It does require effort, thinking, planning, etc, etc..
And YES, the Circle-Trap-Of-Editing, I know it well, a guy my hubby knows has been editing a tabletop rpg he's developed for over 20 years now, by way of example.
For me, I have a stop-point where I know that it's time to stop, and things are as good as I can make them. Then I publish the piece, warts and all.
YES, it works the same for Literary writers as it does for Music writers, there's ALWAYS the ideas that come LATER, right? :D
And yeah, one can always store those late-ideas for future works, I have a LOT of notes of such, and little by little they find their way into future works and such.
that facehugger humping everything had me in stitches hahaha too good.
and the turd in the egg
classic
It has to be tough, writing. As a hobbyist song writer, it seems that you can always tinker to make things better especially when new ideas pop up. There comes a time when you need to be done though. As a musician once said, you never complete a project- you abandon it. But you take ideas to make the next one better. IDK if it works that way for writers.
Elgyn (Besides general curiosity Elgyn couldn't give a shit what Perez was up to, but he knows he can push up a bargain for his crew if he pretends to probe and ask questions.)
just bed and board, couple of days worth. Vriess'll want to snag a few parts, if we're not imposing.
Today I've been working on the following in a rotating manner:
ALIEN: Manticore
ALIEN: Manticore 'Paradise'
ALIEN: Screams In The Silent Dark 'LV-426' (My version of 'ALIENS' and set 5 years after the events of ALIEN: Manticore)
I do miss tabletop RPGs, but I did manage to incorporate some really useful tricks I learned from my gaming years into my writing career, so I call that a win. :D
Also, I enjoy working up the frameworks and such, it lends a greater sense of confidence about proceeding onward as then I Know where I'm going.
In due course, I'll be publishing all my works on Scribd, as it seems to work the best for everyone.
I'm quite time-conscious, but won't 'rush' on things because then errors creep in/get left in and I hate doing that to the audience.
Especially as I'm Dyslexic, so some errors are just gibberish to people, and leaving those errors uncorrected REALLY bothers me, and likely confuses readers.
Comp games, I do enjoy those, Killzone and Halo are my main faves. I like Killzone mainly as in many ways it's Close to the ALIENVerse. ;)
Also I love sneaking around in Killzone as Luger, the Shadow Marshal.
Halo, well, it's just damned funny when you stick a plasma grenade onto a Grunt's face, it freaks and runs back amongst it's own guys before BOOM :D
Moral of that story is sometimes the little bugger charges you in panic mode, and, well...Munitions-Related-Malfunction. :D
Perez loses his temper some and snaps back, "Do you want something, Elgyn?
Elgyn (calling Perez out on his BS scripted response)
Most Army research labs don't have to operate outside of regulated space....and they don't call for the kind of cargo we brought....
yay, can't wait to read them all :)
that's hilarious, I do the exact same thing for working up character files. I like open-ended RPG's like Skyrim, Fallout etc. Though I do enjoy using morale-based games like Baldur's Gate, Dragon Age etc too
(Perez hands a drink to Elgyn and Elgyn graciously accepts.)
Perez answers with, "This is an army operation." (Perez can't help but be a little intimidated by Elgyn. He knows he's manage to carry a weapon from inspection on him and he has a mind like a whip! Still, Perez reminds himself, I am part of the military. Perez comes to the conclusion that, sadly, that's probably the only thing keeping him alive. Perez just tells himself that he's just got to tolerate this momentarily.)
drucea - There is no direct Hideo Yutani reference. The article title contains a question mark, and the first sentence of the topic is a question.
Why Hideo Yutani?
Because Hallett worked on Covenant, now he is working on a secret project including translucent aliens, he wrote in a comment that he would finish that by October or January, this is a new image by him, and he writes next to it that 'the reference was an asian dude'...
These pieces of information gave birth to my impossible question: Isn't it Hideo Yutani in the image?
A L I E N 4 2 6 - Yes, the Holloway process seems to be a special one, he is mutating at the same time...
Anything is possible, however, I think it shouldn't be over-explained and classified as an exception.
ALIENverse star wars...
W-Y vs Disney vs Amazon vs Apple vs Microsoft vs Bell vs Samsung vs LG.
Just a random thought. :D
ELGYN: She is curious about this little transaction. You can hardly blame her. Awfully cloak-and-dagger...
drucea - 'Maybe it can dock to the bottom hole to unload, or up to the top hole to load things into the juggernaut.'
Yes, I think the same.
Thank-you for reading!! Thank-you also for letting me know you enjoyed it!!! :)
I like Walter, and when Vivisected Engineer did their story, I just had to run with it. He just deserves better than to be discarded forever.
And as I had previously planned to have Manticore follow David and Shaw anyways, it just all fit together so well. :D
ALIEN: Manticore 'Paradise' is what this short-story directly ties into, so Walter WILL be getting a fair amount more 'screen time' this go-around, and I've been working on that today as well as ALIEN: Manticore so that when A:M is done, I can just keep rolling along with a good start on A:M 'Paradise' without changing gears.
Folks have been really Patient in waiting while I work on this ALIEN: Manticore beast, and I don't want to keep people waiting any longer than I must.
As for David and Covenant, I do have plans regarding them, but there's many avenues to consider still, I do plan to address those points when I find the best choice in how to do so.
Weyland-Yutani and Philips merger confirmed. Haha
Awesome, I like the modification to the usual vertical line design they usually use for the ALIEN word. I could I could imagine the cloud in the background slowly passing across the screen and the planets all rotating barely noticeable. Would make a cool game start screen, with press start across the bottom lol.
Excellent!
33 Years....Really anxious to find out what happened to David and the Covenant.
So cool having Walter back!
Elgyn- She is very fuckable, isn't she? And the very devil with a socket wrench. I think Vriess somewhat pines.
finally i have whiter teeth than some one ;)
Just a little correction, I think its all spot on, but I think in Holloways case specifically, the black goo infected his........em......juices......which then took a detour into shaws uterus and got some mutating from the uterus. David used a similar process using shaws reproduction system, but instead of a trilobite and shaws uterus, he made it more efficient, making eggs and facehuggers.
@Roger 55 - that's a screen grab from the Blu Ray.
it could be something as simple as either being able to deal with 2 ships at once or the 2 parts of the scorpion ship are so it can deal with different types of ship with different designs of docking ports?
