Very true.Love The Dark Knight and Dark Knight Rises,but I'm growing increasingly bored with Super hero movies.While everyone loved it,I thought last year's Captain America Civil war was a great example of how stale super heroes are getting.Throw all heroes into a single film is a guaranteed way to make big bucks....BORING!!!

Alien is indeed a smaller franchise with a kinda niche fanbase,but one that has endured for nearly 40 years.Marvel and other heroes can't say the same.

Good point. You would think she would try to gaurd her face. Maybe she just acted the part and they didn't match the CGI creature with her actions?

I liked Dark Knight only because Christian Bale was a boss in that movie- much how Fassbender is a boss with his roles. Other than that I couldn't care less about super hero movies. Compared to other movie franchises, the Alien fans seem like a small but very loyal bunch.

I love Alien 3! One thing that sets it apart from the rest is that it is the only climactic xeno death that doesn't get sucked out into space- even AC did that.

It would be interesting to see the xeno shrapnel burn through everything it hit.

A lot of the CGI shots were just gorgeous, my favourite being the shot of the storm on the planet, with the covenant overhead.

I loved the scene where Tennessee is talking to Mother and you can see the planet below, with the storm raging on.

Loved the shot of the city below the juggernaut right before it's bombed, it looked so real.

The only CGI issues I thought were poor, as I said, were the med bay scene.

You could see fake/cgi blood flying everywhere, yet you could still see her face in between shots and it was untouched, so where the heck was the blood coming from?

And while not CGI related, why the heck was she waving the knife around at arms length when it's right in front of her face? It just seemed to be really rushed.

We have each picked up a torch to a varying degree in an attempt to uncover the secrets of the Alien universe here. My job is to provide analysis to the best of my ability when reviewing content "tooth to tail".

I noticed a lot of topics here that had concentrated on the xenomorph teeth but the hindquarters had taken a back seat in attention.

Indeed, he would be a perfect villain. Only if Shrek 5 happens.

I wrote the summary notes along side the pictures sherris.

Good to see things back to normal. I have certainly missed my daily fix. I had just come back from a 17th Century camping trip and was looking forward to plugging back into the normal world to discover an important piece of normality had gone missing.

Is this why there hasn't been a blog post about the digital OR bluray release of covenant?

But you failed to include the * parts. The charts indicates that during this week GotG sold 10 times as many units as Covenant. Well is that good?

Reminds me of another problem I had with Prometheus. Scale. Engineers too small, Trilobite way to big. The insectoid looks ridiculous and is simply a B-grade monster. I like the Deacon designs which would probably would have tied Prometheus in with Covenant better, despite the lack of blue/grey colouring.

I watched the deleted scenes. Just further confirmed (in my mind) the movies biggest plot holes. Where did the eggs come from? Where are all of the black goo mutated native animal/neomorph animals and insects (David mentions them and has preserved sample in his workshop) go?

Sounds terrible to me. There is no need to make the Xenomorph more aggressive, more horrific, more monster like. It's a road to nowhere. I love Alien 3, for all it's failings, but I also wouldn't mind if it was simply a cryodream. I like what I've read about Blonkamp's Alien 5 and with the underwhelming Prometheus and Covenant I truly hope he gets to make it. If only the original script for Prometheus hadn't been trashed. Sorry Ridley. Beautiful imagery, sets and craft can't make up for an overworked, conflicted film maker and bad re writes probably enforced by untalented producers........ Too many cooks have spoilt the broth in my book. 

i watched alien 3 last night. getting a touch of the franchise while the scified boffins worked tirelessly perfecting their code for today. we are back ;) 

i love to see the timeline and all the connections that we get. adds so much depth to the franchise if done correctly.

They should have used the CGI monster, the zombie was boring. I also believe that they should have had the worm scene in because it made the stupid scene make sense in a way.

To me the www got more boring while Scified wasn't around. It is good to have it back.

Hello Again everyone

This thread is so silly but fun. I learned what the word hindquarters means, it sounds like headquarters almost. A Hind to me sounds like a small animal and the hindquarter would be like the holes in the ground where the rabbits live.

Maybe their poop is somewhat acidic since their blood is so and the blood is all in the body which makes me conclude that their poop could be acidic too.

Since there are a lot of details in the alien franchise then I guess that it was just a matter of time before this topic would come up.

As long as the character is well done then I don’t care. The problem with Prometheus and Covenant is that the characters were not that well developed/their personalities were not well done. Make the characters sympathetic and believable and I’m fine with that.

I don’t want David to be the main character because the humans is what is the most important thing since Alien if you think about it.
