I loved this Xeno death as well, showcased how hard it really is to kill one of these bitches.
Chris, thank you.
I'm glad I'm not the only one who likes Cosmonaut-Copper's works.
(Call is pissed as s#!t! She replies with voice slightly raised. Johner is a little intimating... Still, Call's face easily says how pissed she is over that knife incident.)
"You are an inbred motherfucker, you know that?"
(She didn't have to think hard for her reply since Johner looks like he's been part of some inbredding childhood. It could also be because of his long lasting stand as a space pirate. That's something Call can respect in way. You don't live long in this lifestyle unless your good. Either way, whether Johner is ugly or part of some piece of trash childhood, which is highly likely in today's world (that's if you want to acknowledge it), he's still a piece a $#!t personality wise. That f^cK&r.)
MU/TH/UR interesting indeed!
Ingeniero "Frankie" reminds me a bit of the brain-bug from Starship Troopers with that slug-like body and proboscis lol
Agreed.Love Alien way more than Star Wars so I'm on Ripley's side.My Brother is a Terminator fanatic so he's on Sarah Connor's side(though he once admitted Ripley is a better character than Sarah Connor)
I think this Xeno death won our recent poll from memory too.
Epic scene
I forgot about Sarah and Leia but you are right. They were all strong lead characters and it seemed natural and not forced. I lean toward Ripley and Sarah though since they were tough but only because they had to be- they were either scared to death or just pissed off.
100% agree ninXeno426. Predator and Terminator franchises are great too, but Predator has been stuck going around in circles re-hashing the same premise, and Terminator films have been progressively getting worse since T2.
I love every single Alien film (not counting the AVPs), I honestly don't have a favourite.
You're also 100% right about everyone's obsession with Super-hero films....
but wait, the Avatar sequels are coming next....
The Tick LOL!F'ng hilarious!
Spider-Man 3 is a piece of sh!t lol.Prime candidate for worst super hero movie, and one of the worst movies ever made in my opinion.
Damn good point on Wonder woman, haven't seen it,but it's Hollywood's currently business model, empowering female leads.Be it Wonder Woman,Hunger Games,The past couple Star Wars movies,it's seems Hollywood has forgotten they've always been there.Ripley,Sarah Connor, and Princess Leia (RIP Carrie Fisher.)In the case of Leia, since everyone believes Force Awakens Rey and Rogue One's Jyn Erso are being considered better characters than Leia, but they wouldn't be here if Leia hadn't come first. But that's beside the point lol.
@Ingeniero
The best watched this summer of course.
I half ass watched part of Spider Man 3 and part of another super hero years ago before giving up. All I remember was the guy playing Spidey was basically an whiney emo dude and it seemed like a coming of age movie theme wise. Another one seemed to have an overt anti corporate theme. I have read reviews about Wonder Woman being empowering- fine. Seems like Ripley did that back in 1979.
The ONLY super hero I support is The Tick!

Johner- Oh, come on, you didn't feel a thing.
That above sure looks close (exact) to me. Awesome catch.
This image below is labeled "Frankie" in the Fauna section of David's drawings and could be an earlier form of the chestburster he was developing.

Very true.Love The Dark Knight and Dark Knight Rises, but I'm growing increasingly bored with Super hero movies. While everyone loved it,I thought last year's Captain America Civil war was a great example of how stale super heroes are getting.Throw all heroes into a single film is a guaranteed way to make big bucks....BORING!!!
Alien is indeed a smaller franchise with a kinda niche fanbase, but one that has endured for nearly 40 years.Marvel and other heroes can't say the same.
AdamPD why the heck was she waving the knife around at arms length when it's right in front of her face?
Good point. You would think she would try to gaurd her face. Maybe she just acted the part and they didn't match the CGI creature with her actions?
I liked Dark Knight only because Christian Bale was a boss in that movie- much how Fassbender is a boss with his roles. Other than that I couldn't care less about super hero movies. Compared to other movie franchises, the Alien fans seem like a small but very loyal bunch.
I love Alien 3! One thing that sets it apart from the rest is that it is the only climactic xeno death that doesn't get sucked out into space- even AC did that.
It would be interesting to see the xeno shrapnel burn through everything it hit.
A lot of the CGI shots were just gorgeous, my favourite being the shot of the storm on the planet, with the covenant overhead.
I loved the scene where Tennessee is talking to Mother and you can see the planet below, with the storm raging on.
Loved the shot of the city below the juggernaut right before it's bombed, it looked so real.
The only CGI issues I thought were poor, as I said, were the med bay scene.
You could see fake/cgi blood flying everywhere, yet you could still see her face in between shots and it was untouched, so where the heck was the blood coming from?
And while not CGI related, why the heck was she waving the knife around at arms length when it's right in front of her face? It just seemed to be really rushed.
I thought it was great Roger55.

The pilot from Prometheus (Benedict Ravel) is in it.
Thank you for the compliment sherris. I love timelines.
No problem on the request above. We're all here for all kinds of different reasons; entertainment, time well spent recovering from injury, obsessive nature catering, curiosity, etc...
I do have a few topics in the pipeline that I prepare in batches and will certainly include a timeline (great idea) for context.
I am not sure what 69% Blu ray share for title means.
Vriess-Goddamnit!Johner you son of a bitch!
Ingenerio -
i was progressing through and wondered initially if there was another timeline released and snippets from there. no. it IS though one of our members delivering more quality content.
Ingenerio - I would be really interested to see how many of these you could within your spare time.
I guarantee this - i will read and comment on everyone.
Perhaps at the end the mods get them together and pin it ?
Could be a formidable portfolio ahead.
Well Done i love it
Johner starts acting like he didn't do anything wrong. He then takes a swig of his liquor and mumbles something, "Just a little target practice. Vriess isn't complaining."
Thank you Thoughts_Dreams.
We have each picked up a torch to a varying degree in an attempt to uncover the secrets of the Alien universe here. My job is to provide analysis to the best of my ability when reviewing content "tooth to tail".
I noticed a lot of topics here that had concentrated on the xenomorph teeth but the hindquarters had taken a back seat in attention.
Indeed, he would be a perfect villain. Only if Shrek 5 happens.
+Added the trailer for Shrek: Covenant (I'm not reall good with video editing but here it is anyways)
I wrote the summary notes along side the pictures sherris.
I wanted to give a picture of the company technology beginning with the scan on Fury 161, an upload to the Weyland-Yutani Corporation network with the xenomorph confirmation, and the dispatch of Michael Bishop's team within a couple of hours of the scan.
Executive Transportation
The executives now, I'm sure, think they are really fancy with private planes, armies of servants, expense accounts that could buy small countries...but they can't get to Fiorina 161 in 2 hours with a Yutani Commando walking on each side of their pathway.
Feel the same as you Lone, I heard it was a DDoS attack if that's how it's spelled.
(Hello dk! Glad to join the fun!)
VRIESS continues working, humming to himself. Completely oblivious. Johner laughs as Call looks at him furiously.
Call - What is wrong with you?
Did you read The Tourist?
Good to see things back to normal. I have certainly missed my daily fix. I had just come back from a 17th Century camping trip and was looking forward to plugging back into the normal world to discover an important piece of normality had gone missing.
Is this why there hasn't been a blog post about the digital OR bluray release of covenant?
I hate this percentage values as they don't show the weekly evolution of a movie. Are these values global or only US?

This is how sales chart looked when A:C debuted:
This Week's Rank Last Week's Rank Title Street Date Studio Genre Box Office (millions) Blu-ray Share for Title Index* 3D%† UHD%†† 1 New Alien: Covenant 8/15/17 Fox Sci-Fi $74.25 74% 100.00 - 14% 2 New Descendants 2 8/15/17 Disney Fantasy TV Movie - 23.62 - - 3 1 King Arthur: Legend of the Sword 8/8/17 Warner Fantasy $39.18 52% 19.98 1% 5% 4 New The Case for Christ 8/15/17 Universal Drama $14.68 42% 19.17 - - 5 3 The Boss Baby 7/25/17 Fox/DreamWorks Animated $174.93 53% 18.30 1% 2% 6 2 Snatched 8/8/17 Fox Comedy $45.85 35% 17.93 - 1% 7 5 Kong: Skull Island 7/18/17 Warner Adventure $168.05 60% 12.65 1% 7% 8 New Hickok 8/15/17 Cinedigm Western DTV 90% 11.14 - 90%^ 9 6 The Fate of the Furious 7/11/17 Universal Action $225.76 59% 10.95 - 7% 10 New Everything, Everything 8/15/17 Warner Romance $34.12 31% 8.97 - -red0guy@gmail.com I think it's ok. I mean GotG was a huge hit at the box office and it's normal that it crushed all the other movies this week.
Basically, A:C is doing good job at DVD/Blu-Ray sales. It's also #8 on iTunes - https://www.apple.com/itunes/charts/movies/
#11 and #54 on Amazon - https://www.amazon.com/best-sellers-movies-TV-DVD-Blu-ray/zgbs/movies-tv/ref=pd_dp_ts_movies-tv_1#1
But you failed to include the * parts. The charts indicates that during this week GotG sold 10 times as many units as Covenant. Well is that good?
