GameSpot Aliens: Fireteam feature explores Engineer Temples and highlights new gameplay modes!

GameSpot just uploaded a new Play For All live stream event feature to their YouTube channel exploring the gameplay and modes of Cold Iron Studio's Aliens: Fireteam! In this latest 15-minute feature, GameSpot invited CEO of Cold Iron Studios Craig Zinkievich onto the channel for an interview as well. During the stream, we're privileged with some new gameplay footage, new environments and gameplay modes.

The video highlights how eerie and terrifying the game can be when played on higher difficulty settings - reigning in more of that old-school terror the Alien franchise is known for. We also learn more about the backstory within the Alien universe and the political landscape these private corporations are navigating while trying to claim and colonize new worlds. We also get a glimpse at the Engineer temples, very akin to the ones seen in Ridley Scott's Prometheus and Alien: Covenant! Check out the stream below:

The Alien: Romulus sequel is currently in development and cameras are set to roll by October, 2025! Be sure to bookmark the Alien: Romulus 2 Info Page for an up-to-date account of all available information, production updates and important details!

In addition to the upcoming Alien: Romulus sequel, we have the Alien: Earth TV series from Noah Hawley now streaming and a rumoured Alien vs. Predator reboot in the works as well!

Seems like it would be FUN.

I Wonder if some DLC will come down the Line that would introduce the Engineers it would be Interesting to see what Engineer Weapons would be like and maybe they can THINK OUTSIDE the Box a bit and NOT  just give us Plasma Blasts and Lasers.

Seeing a Bio-Mechanical Exo-suit for the Engineers could be COOL and NO i dont mean the Queen-Suit that Ripley as in the ALIEN V Concepts.

Something where the Bottom/Leg Area is like a Bio-Mechanical Crab/Spider/Scorpion would be COOL.

Exploring more about the Engineers is a good thing since they added something new into the franchise. It would be a shame to never hear about them again in what ever way it might be (games, comics, whatever). Please expand the universe, don't go back.

How about an Engineer as a final boss so to speak?

I want to see Engineers as an elite enemies/mini-bosses. Because in this case you will meet them more often.

I think another Advantage to having the Engineers is it ALLOWS them to be HOSTS to introduce like more ELITE kinds of Xenomorph etc with like 50% More Damage and are able to take 50% More Damage in Return.  Or you could have it that THEY are DOUBLE that Bonus.

So it allows us to have 10-12ft Tall Xenomorphs, Neomorphs etc.

As Far as ADULT (Engineer Born) Deacons i would Estimate the ADULT would be about 12ft

Not sure a 12ft Deacon would fit on a human spaceship?

Just another reason to visit Engineer temples and Juggernauts. Designers don't have to keep every creature small enough to access human airlocks / bulkheads ).

Well thats the THING you could SHOW a Engineer getting Chest Busted in a Cut Scene then the Player Turns up Days after and we have our BIG Deacons.

The Original Deacons (likely the MURAL) may be Different to the ONE in Prometheus, i say this because the Trilobite was Essentially a Human/Morph Hybrid (it had Hair) so the Deacon also have a Higher % Human DNA than say a Neomorph or Xenomorph may have.

But Certainly the Prometheus Plot does OPEN UP a whole HOST of Worlds and Various Horrors, it does-not have to come down to LV-223/LV-426 and Planet 4

David did-not just PULL those Eggs out of the AIR it was not a Case of Black Goo + Dr Shaws Egg Cells = Xenomorph.

There are Various Horrors he Created/Experimented with on the ROAD to his Eggs.

And so its LIKELY the Engineers had Concocted Various Horrors on their PATH to the MURAL Organism.

BD

Yeah but then if they will be impregnated (like a face-hugger to Xeno) then they must be very strong to take down an Engineer. What if the Engineers developed super-monsters that become stronger than they expected? I try to find out a way that is logical to make that happen.

Remember the bogus poster to Alien Covenant even though it was awesome? It was bogus because it hinted at a story that we weren't given. Something like that could be used to make something interesting in the franchise.
