James Franco has confirmed his role in Ridley Scott's Alien: Covenant during an interview segment with the website Hey You Guys. Franco acts surprised, remarking "The news is out, I guess?", to which the interviewer assures him there is a lot out online - which is true. Franco's secretive role announcement in Covenant was leaked 10 days ago. You can watch Franco's interview below:
We can also confirm that Franco plays the captain of the colony vessel COVENANT, but his screen time is very, very limited. Without spoiling too much, we can also confirm that he has a connection with Katherine Waterston's character Daniels.
The trailer for Alien: Covenant remains elusive, with many predicting the official release date for the trailer to be between December 24th in North America and the 26th in Europe. However, some smaller chain cinemas may already be in possession of the the first trailer and are debuting it ahead of Rogue One: A Star Wars Story, as this one Twitter user announced yesterday. Having checked various rating and classification resources, no reference, duration or classifications for an Alien: Covenant trailer have cropped up, which leads us to assume Fox will release it exclusively online before their theatrical debut in large-chain cinemas.
