Since the release of 2012's Prometheus, an indirect prequel to his 1979 cult classic Alien, British director Sir Ridley Scott has remained busy directing movies such as The Counselor, Exodus: Gods and Kings, and this years sci fi tale of survival against overwhelming odds; The Martian. Fans of Prometheus, and fans of the Alien franchise that may not have liked Prometheus, have been waiting eagerly for its sequel, in the hopes the movie will shed some light on the mysteries of the first movie and possibly provide a more tangible link to the first Alien movie.
While promoting the Martian, Scott and the movies star Matt Damon revealed to Empire that after a three year wait, Scott is finally ready to return to dark corners of space and that pre-production on Prometheus 2, expected to be called Paradise, has already begun...
Matt Damon: “Ridley was done with the movie about two weeks after we shot!”
Ridley Scott: “I was already on to my next movie! I was starting to look for locations for my next movie, which is Prometheus 2.”
Paradise/Prometheus 2 is expected to follow Elizabeth Shaw (Noomi Rapace) and the enigmatic synthetic android David (Michael Fassbender) as they journey to the homeworld of the mysterious race known only as the Engineers. What dark secrets will they uncover? What is the nature of the relationship between the Engineers and the Xenomorphs? Will Shaw get the answers she desires? Watch the speculation unfold and get all the latest Prometheus 2 news at Prometheus2-Movie.com.
