Fox did exactly the same thing with Aliens.....Made it an action movie because that was the biggest movie seller in the mid/late eighties. As a result the 'roots' of Alien (1979) was changed
They wrote in the abomination of a queen that lays eggs=more aliens=more action=bigger box office=lack of integrity!

LOL, I think Bio and Sparky are like my teenagers always fightin with each other but you love them both and can't take sides, you just watch, laugh, learn and have fun.
