well honestly its nothing special BUT his first movie "the duellists" is a total masterpiece .

Oh i don't know.. that advert is considered a classic in the uk, I mean think about the time this was set. Most adverts back then were cheesy, logo ridden, hooky songed push it down your throat, unremarkable advertising. This was one of the first of the Short film format with a lot going into it's composition. looking at it for the first time in years, it's actually exquisitely well shot if you compare to, hell, even tv and films of the time.

well yes ..i think you are right ...1973 is so far far away and there were very kiddish advertisements . Often we think is "nothing special" something that was the first in his genre and that deserve much more praise , like you say .

lol i just realised i said "the time this was set" instead of "the time this was made"
Obviously we didn't have commercials in the late 1800/early 1900's ;)
