MemberOvomorph12/7/2011This is from a very, very reliable source although not confirmed in the slightest.
I’ve got a little bit of news for everyone following the previous report about Aliens being seen on the set of Prometheus. According to a very reliable source, he has seen the original Giger’s design Alien on the set of Prometheus during the summer.
According to the source the suit appeared to be dark, possibly brown as the original Giger suit was. It’s skull was definitely domed but my source was unable to see if it was transparent or featured the original human skull (not that it could be seen in the move anyway).
Original Story

“Though security on the set is very tight with the good weather, dock doors have been open and cast and crew have been enjoying lunch outdoors. I can confirm seeing 3 aliens having lunch. Not the whole costume but blueish costumes and the unmistakable heads hanging around their shoulders”
“The alien heads were the same shape but no markings, only a plane bronze colour. As for the suits black boots and shoulder pads the rest was a Chelsea blue body suit could be for SFX, all the sets around the back of the bond stage have huge green chromokey maybe that’s a clue. I have witnessed foam cut outs of unmistakable aliens all cut in half lengh ways so they could be in the floor walls etc and very much from the original film.”
“I managed to enter the bond stage one weekend when no filming was sheduled all I can say is there is a very very long tunnel that leads to an enormous structure at the back of the stage which is the same height as the stage and probably extends out another 200 ft. All of these sets are surrounded by wood foam and scaffold so sid not see inside, I think this is were the Space Jockey set is.”
So, no idea if true or not,but very interesting if it is.

MemberOvomorph12/7/2011I wonder if this is for real? I certainly hope so! Does anyone out there still think this is not a prequel?

Gavin
MemberTrilobite12/7/2011It is, but at the same time it isn't. Ridley admitted to asmuch at Comic-Con.

Huhu as someone said we have a mix of the crew suits ( black boots and shoulder pads..the original alien shape dont need visible shoulder pads or boots ) with some alien parts .... is an indication of hybrids or a crew transformations ?

MemberXenomorph12/7/2011Hey Guys,
Thought I'd drop in real quick before the long drive to Detroit. I know this is sacrilege BUT technically speaking AvP and AvP:R are prequels to Alien since they happened during "our" time and not in the future where Prometheus and Alien are supposed to take place.
Frantz,
Could be for CGI use since there is going to be some CGI involved with the Aliens.
Guys I'm out for about 5-6 hours. Will try and pop back in when I get to the Hotel.
Laters,
Rick

MemberOvomorph12/7/2011That was all reported on Sky Movies website about 6 months ago...it was never confirmed, but saying that, it was never refuted.

MemberOvomorph12/7/2011I don't really count the AVP movies as prequels or even canon as they seem to take alot of liberties with the true canon. If there is to be any kind of decent AVP movie, then there should be a movie version of the novels "Prey" & "Hunters Planet". At least pretty much everything in those stories was canon.

MemberTrilobite12/8/2011@ EP,
The AVP films don't disrupt the continuity of the films set before or after them, therefore I view them as canon, especially when taking into account that not only were the producers for both involved (Davis and Brandywine), but the late, great Dan O'Bannon was also involved in the first AVP.
Furthermore, there are other points shown in both films that support their mother franchises...
1. This "ancient astronaut" theory that may be part of Prometheus' plot was also featured in the first AVP, showing a kinda similarity between the Predators and Space Jockey's (of which I have my own theories as to how deep that goes).
2. The Predalien is in fact an immature, adolescent Queen, a Princess if you will. Which solves a major problem with the Queen idea - if after bursting from a host a Queen Chestburster develops into an adult Queen (as with other aliens) how can she build, support and defend her hive and eggs. This Princess stage solves that problem, by allowing her manifest a small brood before maturing into a Queen (how does avp galaxy and avp wiki not know this when it is clearly stated in the AVPR's commentary).
3. The Wolf Predator is the first and only Predator to date that has truly been worthy of his kind, not even the Princess Predalien was able to fell this guy.
4. Weyland Industries, Yutani Corporation and the O.W.L.F. all make an appearance, and it is my believe that they all play a role with the merged Weyland-Yutani seen within the Alien Franchise - just look at the O.W.L.F.'s behaviour in Predator 2 and AVPR and then look at the way Weyland-Yutani are protrayed in Alien, Aliens and Alien 3... Is Weyland-Yutani the public face of the O.W.L.F.?

MemberOvomorph12/13/2011Other than the fact that AVPr was simply a crap badly made film, with a bad script, bad acting, bad lighting and bad creature design (Predalien was far too solid and heavy and too distant from other Xenos,) I have no problem with the facts it presents.
Re AVP I actually liked this film. Great effect sequences, seemless CGI v reality, interesting story line. Things which shit me is of course gestation time and slow paced, sluggish Predators. The anoying thing is that the short gestation time could have easily been fixed in editing and changing the Pyramid countdown clock from changinging every 10 minutes to 10 hours. Hence Weylan and crew would have been down there for days instead of seemingly hours....
I dont see anything which stuffs up anything in the other Alien or Predator movies and therefore in Prometheus.
