i heard a lot of people say they think that the space jockey ship fly's like that, vertically, i disagree, if you watch the trailer at the part when it explodes in mid air it is flying like we usually think of it from the first movie, and when it falls out of the sky it falls that way and lands on the ground vertically, then falls on its side. honestly i hope i am right because if it flew like that i think it would look kind of stupid........ that's just my opinion but still.

There's one image of the derelict in the trailer that looks so amazing.
It is rotating "2001: A Space Odyssey" style !
Perhaps as it begins decay from orbit but it is a remarkable looking image
and each time I watch that trailer off the disc I burnt through my PS3 and the OPTICAL connections and pump it all through the surround system the effect this image has for just that moment, the fraction of a split second is ASTOUNDING.
If someone has the pic of that please post it for me !!!
My Cap Card busted a few months back and I still haven't replaced it.
TX in advance !

30+ years on...
Giger's derelict still fascinates with it's otherworldly odd proportions.....

Those 3 at the end for me are hard to get out of my head after watching that trailer !!!
Like I said there's just no denying anymore that Scott and the fabulously talented people he surrounds himself with have come up with something very very special here!!!

Pretty much confirms for me that the Derelict was/ is deliberately taken down before it gets somewhere else, most certaily EARTH !!!
What we are seeing in this image, is what Saves Mankind from Obliteration.

Yes I agree Spartacus. If we use the comics as a guide, a derelict does reaches earth and most of our planet is overrun with xenomorphs.
That summer release is just too far away. I will be among the first in line to see this. I hope I don't work that day. And if I do, I'm requesting off early!
The last shot is quite interesting. The derelict is activated. I wonder is that shot from their first entry? Or is that just a promotional shot?

Hmm, wouldn't rely on the comics too much for canon. That last shot is a PS mock up. The suit looks like the onr Ripley wore in the final scenes of Alien
