I was hoping to find anyone whom has read steel egg and could remember the Giffs relationship to the A L I E N universe.

What is "Steel Egg"? And who is Giff?

Yes, I read that two years ago keyg920, so called because of the the funny 'giff' sound uttered by the alien on the hologram. I liked the Iapetus moon being inhabited under the ridge theory too. Good book.
